I'm away from my home country (the UK) at the moment, but I just so hope I can be back there for October, when I believe Eric is playing a gig in Brighton. I'm currently in Lugano, Switzerland, and saw (here on Youtube) that he played not too long ago at Pescate, Lecco, Italy, which isn't so far from here: that I would have liked to have seen because it seems to have been a real 'intimate' gig.
This has got to be one of my favourite songs I've ever heard, along with 'Dean Moriarty'
I've seen Eric many times at Anderson Fair in Houston, he is wonderful live, once I requested an old song "Miss Virginia's Photographs", he asked me if I'd been away in jail, or maybe married, he's cool...
@deborahkauffman09 we would probably recognize each other as I have been going there to see Eric since late 80's. Eric remains as one of my most favorite singer/songsmiths. Might venture down to Galveston soon to see him at the Old Quarter. I remember some incredible late evenings at the Fair with just a handful of people listening to the second set back in the early 90's. He would bring tears to my eyes...
Saw him at a house concert a few years ago in High Springs Fl, sat right in front it was great , visit his website , get a house concert up its not that hard promote the man while his is still around.
Eric T. rocks! He's a Texas songwriter, Lyle Lovitt talks about him some. I saw him on Austin City Limits and was blown away. That was my first intro to him. He and Nanci Griffith were married at one time as well. Weird huh! Can you imagine the music in that house!!!
Man, i've never heard of this guy before but I can tell you that I'll be looking around for more of his stuff! He has such an amazing voice just as his guitar playing is!
Eric Taylor is brilliant. I wish there were more videos on Youtube of him. I saw in person twice and he is great. Albeit he was rather drunk the second time I saw him. I have his Album Shameless Love on vinyl and darn near wore it out!
I'm having trouble finding Eric Taylor videos on youtube, for some reason. Are there others I'm not finding? He's so fantastic, it's frustrating not to have more...

This song is in DADGAD tuning and is pretty straightforward

Taylor is one of the best songwriters ever to grace this planet. For the life of me, I can't understand why he isn't hugely popular.

Steve Earle in the front of the video.

Yeah, I think Lyle covered Eric on his "Step Inside This House" album.
As for his being married to Nanci Griffith: I believe she could probably be a little "high maintenance".
Nanci canceled a tour with The Chieftains once because the promoter wouldn't give her top billing. Go figure!
