  • Fuck marine it's boring cichlids all the way

  • my electric yellow spit her babies!!

  • Really nice tank, and the bonus is that you are a Brit! :)

  • 12 people failed at fishkeeping

  • Way too many bud...I no it's hard to part but it's not fair to them :(

  • Hey there's too many fish in your aquarium...

  • whats up with the music

  • what the hell you have africans with sa/ca cichlids how does that work.

  • @DezDevo eh...where exactly did you see a sa/ca cichlid?

  • want some feed back on my new cichlid tank have a look it my only vid cheers.

  • 'fishes not doing much? they are swimming.... were you expecting them to be doing algebra??

  • @supajuxt

    ....

    yes..

  • a tank of that caliber could also be used as a salt water aquarium....I know that ciclids have cool personalities and I used to have a 110 gallon ciclid tank...I waited the 3 years for the last ciclid to die. Then I converted. The last ciclid to go was a red devil and he indeed was a nasty ass red devil!! He got 5 X his size once he was the only fish in the tank. He did, eventually go to fishy heaven and now I have a 300 salt tank, I love it. Give it a shot, you'll love it.....

  • I declare this the most unfitting music OF ALL TIME :D

  • @ frewcc no they don't they over stock them in pet stores and zoos to help them be less aggressive they don't need to be overcrowed they will not live long that way

  • you want to kill the fish with the music , WTH???

  • nice music... lol... other then that, great tank

  • so,,,are you gonna but the Pavarotti album,or not?

  • YOU NEED MORE FISH!!!

  • LMFAO.. wtf are you watching on tv.. this made me start laughing.. seriously. no joke.

  • how many gallons is this tank?

  • Lmao, nice. But.. what's with the music in the beginning? O_O

  • its good to see all of the comments that say african cichlids should be overstocked! becuase they are all 100% correct. African cichlids are totally different than south and central american cichlids....with africans, those more fish in the tank, the calmer they will be! in the wild this is exactly how they live, with fish swimming around everywhere! the less amount of fish in the tank, the more fights...its as simple as that

  • looks similar to my dad's malawi/frontosa setup

  • how much is the tank?

  • this was my first cichlid tank since this one i have set up another malawi tank with less fish in

this tank setup is couple years old

  • the tank looks crowded but really the reflection on the back glass pane just makes it look crowded. plus, cichlids need several others.

  • i agree. makes me laugh when people complain about it being crowded. Cichlids are not typical fish. they need to have overcrowding so there is no targeting.

  • I 100000% agree with TheHomeopathic and MrWright24!!!! they have to be crowded or else they will start fighting for the teratories! crowding makes them feel at home.

    Great tank and video!

  • its funny to see people without the knowledge of cichlids say that that tank is crowded its just right for them they have to be stocked at high levels i see people keep thier arowanas in six foot tanks thats wrong.keeping channel cats in any size tank is wrong watch planet earth and you can see them in their natural habitat

  • I have Cichlid tanks, and honestly people, Cichlids do love to be crowded it calms them down. The less fish the more tension the more fights. In Londons national aqauruim there are far more fish with less space. This Tank is well lit and the the fish look incredibly healthy and happy !! Thats not easy to do. Well done very very nice tank. I myself have the ship in my tank also :) they love its hidey holes lol. well done! (i will post my fish tank next year)

  • @MrWright24 yeah, i agree, i ahd a 70 gal. with only 10 ciclids, and they fought all the time, then that tank prung a leak, then they were put in a 40 gal. they never fought, buut then i got rid of them :(

  • Too many fish in my eyes.

  • Crowded but looks nice.

  • too many cichlids!!!!!!!!

  • That is painfull to look at. TOO MANY FISH!

  • cichlids need to be crowded. that is how they are kept in the zoo and how they live in the wild. if they are not overcrowded, they kill each other.

  • @frewcc worst dam advice I ever head!

  • @frewcc never mind!:) sorry! I didn't read your comment completely!

  • @frewcc since when did new world cichlids live together in crowded groups(or schools) in the wild :O

  • @irbenson these are obviously african cichlids

  • @frewcc your comment didn't specify

  • @irbenson i was obviously talking about the fish in the vid i was talking in you idiot. are you one of those tools that front with pedantic bullshit about walking catfish if you hear someone say fish swim in water?

  • @frewcc calm your nipples lol

and no, you weren't obviously talking about those in the vid. you were generalizing on cichlids in general

  • @irbenson yes, and everyone else got it except you. its in this video to these people talking about these fish. its not a fucking lecture

  • actualy i thought that your statement was completely wrong but i do want you to leave it up so everyone else that know how to keep fish can get a good lol out of it. one day in school you will hear every man is a human but not every human is a man

  • it looks like a reel corlreef

    awsome =]=]=]

  • although its crowded but i have to admit it looks gorgeous together.

  • do these fish breed in there

  • Free, inside tomorrows mail on sunday.

    How many fish you had?

How much were all of them?

    How much is the tank,

    How big is it?

  • im planing to build a cichlid pond ( big one )

  • Nice Tank

  • i love ur video!!

  • pavoroti LOL

  • how do you get them to sing like that?

  • za duzo tych rybek troszke... ale akwarium wymiata przesliczne:)

  • your tank rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where do you get the mirror back from?

  • how bout a mirrior lol stupid

  • sorry snow freak i was unaware that you may not of visited a quality aqautics establishment that actually sell mirror backgrounds especially for tanks. only a true idiot would think of putting a mirror behind a tank!!

  • or look at a glass surface at an angle...duh!?!?!?!?

  • I dont think it is for this breed of fish. BTW LOL

  • Very nice!

How do you keep the water so clean?

  • i think alot of people are confused. yes they need to be in groups. but also keep in mind that he has a mirrored back splash so the number of fish you see is double whats really in the tank. keep your eye on the yellow fish if you dont believe me. so whatever number of fish you think he has divide that by 2 and theres the ACTUAL amount in the tank. nice setup by the way

  • its not overstocked the more fish you have the less likely to have fights and hurt fish

  • its not overstocked read up on mbuna u need to over stock thm to keep out the aggression if u have to few thay beat da crap out of each other

  • Not overstocked they need a large group to keep tensions down

  • that is over stocked

  • cichlids do better in large groups for one reason, they cant isolate on eachother as well,u just gotta be careful what fish u put together and keep on eye on newly added fish, and they like lots of rocks and hiding places

  • very nice tank but jesus do ya think u have enough fish

  • this not yet overstocked as long it will handle your filter all their feces..

  • Yeah fish love opera!

  • Overstocking african cichlids to spread out agression is sometimes recommended, but that doesn't mean fill every inch of the tank with fish.

Personally, there comes a point when the tank is too overstocked to even enjoy watching them. This is one of them.

  • this isnt overstocked done with

  • This is actually very overstocked, he needs to take like 10 of them out

  • every time I see an overstocked tank on youtube...I want to slap the guy who did it.

  • its not overstocked, idiot. these fish live better when there is more fish around. have you seen the lakes in Africa where these fish originate from?? they're chalk full of fish EVERY where you look and they love it. they are community fish by nature. they aren't 'lone-shark' type fish at all.

  • They're NOT community fish. They're very very aggressive. As I understand it, the reason they're kept overstocked is because if there's just a few fish, one fish can end up getting chased so much that it stresses out. Overstocking is done to "spread the aggression around."

This tank does look too overstocked regardless.

  • ...yes I'm very aware that they are aggressive, I OWN SOME. but that doesn't mean that they aren't community fish! go look how they act in the wild, they ARE a community fish. Bettas for example are NOT community fish, but these ARE even thought they are somewhat aggressive. mine don't bother any of my peacocks and they are all male.

  • not overstocked

  • Yeah man you had WAY too many fish in this tank, that would be like 100 people living in your house

  • yh it looks overstocked but malawi tanks usually are to couter act the aggression and the fish tend to prefer being in big groups

  • Guess you haven't heard of critical overstock?

    That's just gone too far....

  • how much?

  • i like this fish thnk is awsome

  • how much is each fish 4

  • nice tank

how many chiclids are in the tank?

  • tank and fish was sold bk in dec 07 now have a new tank

  • too much fishes!!!!!!!!!!

  • Depends on filtration!!

    Plus it spreads out aggression...

nice tank and nice selection you have there ; )

  • Yea overstocking reduces aggression, but why even do that? Youll have one nice looking dominant fish, the rest will look plain and have no personality.

And filtration really doesn't have a whole lot to do with how many fish you put in the tank. Skip water changes because of big filters and youll still end up having water problems at some point.

If you're going to keep cichlids that way, let the people who really know what they're doing take them and get a tank full of tetras.

  • I agree, well said.

  • i would say so he is probs running a huge filter and wih these types of fish u must run lots of fish so they dont kill each other

  • nice butt over overstock they are not happy

  • Youre a clown, who clearly knows nothing of Malawi Cichlids.

  • COOL TANK

  • Are there any powerheads in there? I say lose the air pumps and add a few powerheads (cichlids enjoy the currents) that can add oxygen/flow in the water. This will help prevent algae and keep your fish healthy and active.

  • 5ft by 18 by 28 ins and a Aqua-Pro 4 External Aquarium Filters

we have sold the tank and got a 7ft rena now

  • great vid...nice tank nice fish...good job..ps would love to see a new vid of your new tank...

  • lovely tank how big is it? and what filtration have you got on it

  • Isn't that a bit squashed for that many fish. :/

  • Troppo pieno di pesci....sei un'allevatore o un rivenditore??? Anno bisogno di piu' spazio tutti quei pesci!!

  • its perfect

  • that tank is wayyy over stocked.

  • Not over stocked for a Malawi tank. As long as he has good filtration thats about perfect for Malawi as they prefer crowds and will even crowd themselves even if the tank is not.

  • 488 ltrs

  • holy cow!!! is that tour tank?

    how many gallons is it??

    nice :]
