  • Bill. What are you wearing?

  • when you start to think and gain information, that's when religion steps aside.

  • This is one of the few times Bill isn't mocking blind faith in a sky man, he's mocking the idiot Rick Warren.

  • 1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

  • It's sad that people actually think this is funny, makes me sick actually. This book has changed many people's lives and is actually a great book, as I have read it myself. It's too bad that people like Bill Maher shut out Christians and God in their life when clearly they need it because they are so insecure about themselves that they have to make fun of people for living their lives the right way.

  • @pcalum58 How do you know they're living their lives the right way? I think they're living it the wrong way.

  • Bill Maher is the most arrogant pride self righteous man. wise in his own mind speaking like if he is a god!! Anyone can see what's he is all about!! That's not comedy!! That's pure hate straight coming from the heart!! Doing in it a so called funny way... Just plain sad!! The blind leading the blind...

  • @579steven "That's not comedy!! That's pure hate coming from the heart!!"

First off, you need to be complete: That's not comedy TO YOU. Logic would dictate that since he's been a successful comedian for decades, he MUST be funny to someone.

"Big brand name" religions have been directly and/or indirectly responsible for much of the suffering mankind has endured over the last few thousand years. So yeah, those of us that understand the "cause and effect" are a bit ticked off about it.

  • @579steven He's gonna die just like the rest of us. He's nobody special....

  • 5:19 That frame right there should be adapted as a religious icon.

  • I loved his look after he read "and he enjoys variety". Its priceless.

  • agnostics belief that the existence of god can't be proved or disproved - atheists believe you can prove the non-existence of god. most atheists are actually agnostics, one of the most misused words ever.

  • @freddycannonII Very much agreed. However, I think just for the generic usage of the term, we use ATHEIST as a bucket term. Technically A-Theist ( non-theist) is simply someone who doesn't not believe in the EXISTENCE of God, but does not necessarily postulate the fact that GOD DOES NOT EXIST ( as a positive statement). For the actual use of the term, babies and cats are both atheists ( they simply have nothing to say. Non-theist).

  • noooooooooo. why ed hardy?

  • i read that book it sucks

  • Bill Maher is about as funny as a hemorrhoid. Some of his big punch lines: "Yeah, Bible says 'figure out'" "Do it. Do it. Do it." "The man's name was Noah. Sammy Davis Noah." That "everything is for the glory of God" stuff is certainly off base. But I have no problem with religious people or anyone's beliefs as long as they don't infringe upon my rights. The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody but Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass. Well it takes an "egomaniacal prick" to know one.

  • I know how to make god happy, it's in the bible of course, Lev 1:5 - "He shall kill the bull before the LORD... The sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar, and lay the wood in order on the fire. Then the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat in order on the wood that is on the fire upon the altar,... And the priest shall burn all on the altar as a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the LORD." So, he likes barbeques!!!

  • @imerani oh lord; can i have some lemonade with my ribs?

  • @NOISLAMINUSA You're* And I wasn't grading anyone, I was pointing out a fact. You said he was ramming his atheism down people's throats, and that is simply not true. A. He's on HBO, which you have to pay for, and B. this is a stand up act that you had to pay for. If his show was on NBC, and you were FORCED to watch this stand up act, it's ramming, when he charges, it's entertainment. And how old I am is irrelevant, what IS relevant, is that I know the difference between your and you're.

  • The Story of Noah is actually fascinating. Noah was a drunk, so drunk that his son Ham finds him one day passed out on the floor naked. Ham, standing there, stunned - his father roles over, groggily accuses him of having gay thoughts and then condemns his offspring to slavery. We get an "early scientific" explanation for rainbows and fish fossils in mountaintop rock formations from the story of Noah. Called "the Second Adam", Noah is your Dad.

  • Sick of labels and i don't find this clip funny, no offends. to others who likes bill mahr.

i have a question if he thinks god doesnt really exist then how in the world humans have souls and get stigmata?

  • @MsLya2013 There is no evidence that people have souls, or that stigmata is real or has occurred. Do the research if you don't believe me.

  • Hating is bad, Bill Maher. Write a book that outsells The Purpose-Driven Life.

  • @missjohn316 The number of sales of a book does not validate its content. Oprah sells books, but they're devoid of useful content.

  • @beatonm198 Exactly the shit Maher panders to his fellow simpletons is evidence.

  • @probrojeffro Okay, guy. "I dont like Bill Maher so I'll just reach for anything to defend my position. Don't like him turn it off. He's still correct, about 90% of the time. And on religion, he's damned right, every time.

  • @beatonm198 Bill Maher, and all he panders to, is an advocate of hate and intolerance. His ignorance, lack of intelligence and insight is second to none. He promotes closed-mindedness and encourages ignorance, and his public forum, for these reasons and more, should be limited if not eliminated.

  • @probrojeffro That has got to be the dumbest thing I ever heard. You clearly don't know what he is about, or what he believes or doesn't believe. Either you don't have any listening skills, or you didn't even watch the video and you're just being a conservatard.

  • @beatonm198 You're joking right? Come on! open your eyes and use your brain. All he does is attack and deride. He has nothing good to say about anything and he offends the majority of Americans with his ignorant, infantile attacks. He says he's intelligent, but intelligent people don't criticize everything with an off handed. And believing that man is all there is is the greatest of arrogance and ignorance. Please!

  • @probrojeffro So what? He attacks because having a political show where you just talk about everything that is going perfectly well would be a waste of time. YOU wake up, it isn't Bill Maher's job to make you feel good about yourself. He isn't even a democrat, he busts both sides for being retarded, and much of the time he is correct.

  • @probrojeffro he doesnt advocate hate anywhere on this video. you are the close minded one. saying his forum should be eliminated is as close minded as you can get.

you obviously believe in the lie that is religion.

the sane people (atheists) call bill maher entertainment.

  • @godhater01 What?! With all the extensive evidence that's right in front of your face on a daily basis you'd have to be an arrogant, single helixed cretin to think all there is is man. I'm not an advocate of The Purpose Driven Life and find much of it silly and over simplified, but why attack it? Maher's words: "What a prick. What an egomaniacal prick" This coming from an arrogant bastard that labels his book "a look at how everybody but me has their head up their ass" What a dumb ass.

  • @probrojeffro Maher is pointing out that saying you somehow know God's Purpose, and in doing so basically saying "I know what everyone else doesn't" is the height of arrogance, which is the basic problem with all religion. They all think they know best and everyone else is wrong. Maher is 100% correct. Better yet, he made it funny, and that was his job on stage. Don't like it, go watch a Bible-thumper video and give it a thumbs up or something.

  • I like parody religions

  • LMAO!! THIS DUDE IS HILARIOUS!!!! I AM ACTUALLY READING THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW. LOL!!!!! I LIKE TO GET INFORMATION FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE. LET'S ME KNOW THE MIND FRAME OF OTHERS N HOW TO COEXIST WITH THEM. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

  • @aligned576 WHY ARE WE YELLING?!

  • @aidanivesdavis: My bad. My keyboard gets stuck most of the time on caps lock. Lol!! Yeah, I know. Get a new one.

  • @aligned576 lulz

  • Brilliant. He makes the Jesus cultists look like the idiots they are.

  • maher talks about logic and then says totally ridiculous things that makes the audience writhe in canned laughter. logicians who love vulgarianism, i guess!

wonder if little billy critiques all books like he tried to critique this one?

the punk is a hollywood yiddish as*ho*e....1st class!

  • @graysonTW

welcome to a comedy routine. You don't tend to do a serious point by point critique during a comedy act, you say silly shit.

of course if you think there's something wrong with even this comedic critique you need to try and point it out.

  • @graysonTW What was the vulgar part? The homosexual references that he pointed out from the book? In contrast, the bible has clear language against it, where Rick Warren's book (a man with really strong religious beliefs) are not so clear. He wasn't exactly wrong. Rick Warren claiming to know the purpose in life is really arrogant on his part.

  • @cloudstone123 but incest is totally fine huh?

  • @theDudeAbides1100 Never said it was.

  • All the books in the world that were never published and that one was. Sad really.

  • im gonna guy this book hahahahhaahh

  • im eating an apple i almost choked when he said what makes god smile

  • love this guy!

  • Rick Warren thinks he's God.

  • He is just a comedian, and a Good one!!

  • @tehgr8supa

Wrong. Atheism is simply that lack of belief in god(s). It is neither a "theory" or a "belief" in itself as it is more the rejection of unfounded claims by Theists.

In fact, the word "atheism" isn't even synonymous w/secularism! There are "atheist religions," for example. I.E., religions which do not include a god or gods. Taoism, the chief source of inspiration for the "Jedi lore," "quasi-religious" aspects of Star Wars, is a good example of an "Atheist religion."

  • @macgeek2004 And as a Buddhist/Jedi, I support this comment

  • definition:

    noun

the theory or belief that God does not exist------------> well actually is it a belief...

  • @macgeek2004 but jedis have the force.. if thats not what god is, you must think hes a bearded guy like most insane "christians"

  • @macgeek2004 thats not true, agnostic is having no religious belief... atheism is very much a religion, just unconventional

  • @101andrewj

Agnosticism is when you're unsure of whether a not a god exists. Atheism is a religion just like not collecting stamps is a hobby.

  • @Beandude202 i have heard that be4, but i disagree... athiests believe just as strongly in their "theory" or "story" as others.. i know religion means belief in some sort of god or gods... but its meaning has been changed over the years to apply to any groop of people who work off a single belief system.. i believe that if you strongly reject the idea of devine creation and overwatch, like i do, then you are religious.. the religion is just a unconventional one

  • @101andrewj

Atheism isn't characterized by a belief. It's about a lack of belief - disbelief in a god. That's it. And no, the meaning of religion hasn't changed. Religion is a belief in a deity. You wouldn't call the Democratic party a "religion," or people who like McDonalds a "religion."

  • @Beandude202 again, i strongly believe that there are no gods... its not a lack of belief... i think this very strongly... agnostic is a lack of any belief... disbelief in a god and believing in no god are the exact same thing, no matter how you word it... and of course you wouldnt call peole who all like mcdonlands a religion, but mcdonalds doesnt attempt to answer the questions of life, govern your ideas and morals and such, otherwise it would be a religion, exactly like athiesm

  • @Beandude202 we could argue about this all day, but in my mind, if you are asked if you believe in god, and you say anything other then "i dont know" then you are religious

  • @101andrewj Atheism is a religion the same way that NOT collecting stamps is a hobby. Try again, andrew.

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn we will just have to agree to disagree then

  • Bill should be your guide(god)...I'm sure his convincing rhetoric will save you...smell that? sarcasm. Rick Warren? Easy target...false prophet. non-sarcasm

  • The sad truth about Atheism is, that it is a religion of Cynicism. They hate everything, everyone including themselves. Life is a joke and nothing has meaning, but to laugh at people who do have meaning and peace.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA I would have to disagree with you there good sir. I am an atheist and am absolutely satisfied with my life. To me life is not a joke. Also, everything to me has meaning, but not meaning dealing with an invisible creator. The meaning comes by way of it's existence. Everything is meaningful in and of itself. I love life. I enjoy every second of it. Also, religion breeds hate and violence. I love peace, it's the only thing I do preach. It comes from within and without, not from god.

  • @rockstar9739 If you insist. Just curious though. If morality comes from within, then why do men require the ten commandments to determine the nature of right and wrong? Can you add to or take away from that law, or expand upon it? Was there a higher moral law that is documented before the Ten Commandments? Just curious where everyone learned morality and if it does come from within you? what part inside and outside are you referring too?

  • @NOISLAMINUSA I dont require them. My morality definitely comes from within. It supercede's the Bible's in that it doesnt allow for the murder of nonbelievers, persecution of gays, or subjugation of women. Who cares what came first, humans used to believe in a geocentric universe, now we know better. People taking their morality from others are only deciving themselves. One day they will break that code. OH & everything is connected at the basest levels, biologicaly, chemically, and atomically.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA What typical nonsense from a typical religious lying nutjob. You should be ashamed of yourself, you know nothing and don´t know that you know nothing.

  • @yatter1 Typical response from a self loathing Atheist. Everyone who believes in God is crazy and Stupid, while deluded atheists profess they are somehow exclusive authors of morality and enlightenment. Meanwhile calling people names, like desperate angry children.

  • @yatter1 Frankly I could careless to convert anyone here. Simply put. The man makes his living attacking those who have faith, to empower unbelievers who are so marginalized that they only represent 3% of earths population. I do understand how that must feel. But just like every little dog. Atheism barks really, really loud and all the time in order for Somebody to take notice of them . Sad...really and well pathetic. No belief, means nothing unique to offer other than offenses.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA What the flying fuck are you drivelling on about?

  • @yatter1 I can see your a deeeeeeeeeeeep thinker.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA still waiting for this "truth" you speak of. So far, you've just given your opinion on somebody else's lack of belief based on rationality. Please continue. I'm sure you will only sound smarter as you go. I encourage cursing, threats, insults, and ridiculousness. Go!

  • @DJFLDJFL Again I am pointing out the obvious. The man makes a living attacking someones faith. Now you may consider that a talent, whereas I just think it about as obnoxious as Atheism ramming their minority fringe based views on the rest of us.Cursing and threats are more in line with Atheism. No thanks.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA Yes, because Christians have certainly never "rammed their beliefs down others throats." And they have certainly never cursed people, or threatened them to an eternity in hell. Logic fail, ftl.

  • @MrY0ufail Your grading who? How old are you?

  • @MrY0ufail youre right, real christians never do any of that

  • @longfootbuddy Real Christians still believe that those that do not think like them are going to hell. Just because they say they pity the damned, doesn't mean they don't think they are damned. And I would really like to know what you mean by REAL christians. Are there imaginary christians? Or do you mean people just faking it for one reason or another? And even so, supposed "real" christians are too timid to shoot down the fanatics that hijack their name.

  • @MrY0ufail yes, most christians dont believe most of what jesus supposedly said.. most are evil people that call themselves christians, but are nothing like the bible says jesus was

  • @MrY0ufail also, i should clarify that i believe that alot of the christians that contributed to the the bible, didnt know or understand jesus.. they have always misunderstood him and made him into something he wasnt

  • @MrY0ufail Not to mention spread their religion at the point of a sword. The Crusades, anyone?

  • can they stretch his face any more?

  • Atheism is as much a religion as you can be addicted to not smoking.

  • @DJFLDJFL You have misunderstood my simple illustration. I said that you only have to have found one example to show that something is true but to say that something is not true or that you are 99% sure it is not true is to claim a level of knowledge that certainly surpasses that of Bill Maher! Sorry, Bill is not that smart! There are hundreds of millions of books in the library congress. If you say that you have read half of those books (50%), which I doubt any human has ever done...(continued)

  • @DJFLDJFL and then make the statement that you are 99% sure that something is not true, how can you make such a claim when there are hundreds of millions of books (information) that still exist. You have to conceded that the possibility exists that there is proof or evidence that could be in that information that you do not have. That is all that I am saying. Rational thinking even supports this thought.

  • @cetomlinson38 I didn't misunderstand at all. I can't believe I'm even having to defend this...you do not have to have observed 99% of something in order to...god I'm done. It's like arguing with a 12-year old.

  • @DJFLDJFL People throw around the word religion too much. But atheism IS a belief system.

  • @tehgr8supa Atheism is almost the opposite of a belief system. The only reason I'd say it isn't TOTALLY opposite a belief system is that it isn't a system at all. Therefore, can't be opposite. It's not belief, it's lack of belief. Lack of belief in something is not a belief. It is a lack of belief. Like not being addicted to something isn't an addiction. Absence of something does not indicate presence of something. I don't understand how this is an issue.

  • @DJFLDJFL You believe there is no God. That is a form of belief. Hence the word Believe.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA Believing in something or lack of something does not make it a belief system. I also believe there is no Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, or Honda Mustangs. I do, on the other hand, believe in gravity, sunglasses, and Honda Civics. If any of those is a belief system to you, then keepin on ridin that crazy train.

  • Bill doesn't believe in absolutes but he is absolutely sure there is no God. That is complete arrogance. To make such a claim is to claim that you know everything.

  • @cetomlinson38 untrue...he and Richard Dawkins both say they're about 99% sure. Also, that there's equal chance God is a flying spaghetti monster.

  • @DJFLDJFL To claim that you are 99% certain is complete arrogance as well. Regardless of opinions and peoples personal beliefs, to say that you are 99% certain means that you have viewed 99% of all evidence. To make the claim that you are 99% certain that there are no albino horses means that you would have had to seen 99% of the horses that exist. To make the claim that there are albino horses doesn't require having seen but one albino horse.

  • @cetomlinson38 Is this the new scientific method? I missed that meeting I guess..."Regardless of opinions and peoples personal beliefs, to say that you are 99% certain means that you have viewed 99% of all evidence." Would love to know whose ass that gem was pulled from.

  • @DJFLDJFL It is simple math. I can't make it any plainer for you. If $100 is all that existed in the world and I had 99 of those dollars then I would own 99%. To say that you are absolutely 99% sure means that you would have to have observed 99% of all evidence that exists. Regardless of your criticism of this fact it still remains as true, and it is a science - it is called the science of probability - I didn't miss that class!

  • @cetomlinson38 how about testing a sample and extrapolating to a wider population, it's later on in the same class.

  • @cetomlinson38 I guess that's how we know all hydrogen atoms have 1 electron, right? We've clearly observed 100% of hydrogen atoms in existence...and that is the ONLY way we can scientifically say that hydrogen atoms contain 1 electron.

This is one example. You can use this logic to think of near infinite possibilities to show how you wrong.

  • For someone to claim they know there is a God doesn't make them arrogant but rather to have seen evidence that there is one. But to say there is no God or that you are 99% sure that there is no God is to say that you have examined 99% of all the evidence that exists. His numbers are simply irrational, regardless of what one think about whether the idea of a God is right or wrong.

  • the sheer arrogance of the author makes me sick

  • SHAME on u bill mahar who do u think u r to make fun of an inspiring man and his book ????? i would accept this but the worst u did was making fun of GOD this is so shocking

FYI bill mahar if u'r a real comedian there r so many ways to make ppl laugh and so many things to make fun with .

And also i feel sorry for the ppl who were laughing about it may GOD have mercy on u and them.

    :(

  • @yosiefaraya Rick Warren is not an inspiring man (unless you disengage your brain and leave it idling in neutral) and his book is just a load of superstitious delusional claptrap.

As for making fun of God. It has always been a time honoured tradition to make fun of mythical characters and as god is just that, mythical, then where's the problem?

  • @yosiefaraya You're one of the people we believe need saving. Engage your mind God gave you!

  • @terrifictanner1 I didn't say you weren't smart. I said that you like most Christians and most Christians and pretty much all atheists and others including most Ph.Ds. are not informed about the evidence because it's:

    A) Banned from schools for solely political reasons (church/state distortions)

    B) Pastors aren't experts in science or history and so most don't teach it in church.

Even Einstein couldn't make a rational judgment if he was almost totally deprived of the evidence. Nobody can.

  • @terrifictanner1 There are hypocrites in science too. Should we get rid of science because of them? Double standard.

I'm a professor&have taught at secular & Christian universities. I like most intellectual Christians would very, very seriously consider changing if any worldview could demonstrate that it had more historical, scientific, legal, prophetic, philosophical, pragmatic (better health, happiness, sex, self control, marriage, family, morals, etc.) evidence than Christianity does

  • @terrifictanner1 esp. in combination with better evidence for resurrection &afterlife than the profound evidence that comes for Jesus’ resurrection. Here’s just the tip of the iceberg:

    !Come Search with Me

    !Why be a Christian

  • @terrifictanner1 Atheism isn’t free thinking.Biblical Christianity is.Scientists restrict themselves to the scientific method to make the most progress. In exactly the same way God's restrictions have indisputably proven to be BY far the most freeing & empowering thing in all history, including laying nearly all the foundations for modern science as well as pioneering most of its fields, public education, inventing universities, orphanages, numerous human rights campaigns&much more.

  • Both my parents are now retired educators with masters degrees and more than 30 yrs experience apiece. Brother is a high school teacher now with a wife who is also. im in my first yr of college undecided. so lets just say im smarter than your average bear. so back to my first question I know nothing about intellectualism? Christian judge much? im sry i ever got into this spat. live long and prosper. but i also despise being told im wrong so ever heard of Dick cheney? good, so go fuck yourself

  • mental illness brought to us by religious ppl since some fucking thousand B.C.

  • @terrifictanner1 Distorting history and mocking facts that pretty much all historians and historians of science agree on doesn’t demonstrate much intelligence (btw, I teach in a university & 1 of my jobs is editing academic papers). Rome fell due to corruption, barbarians, etc. not genuine Christianity of any sort. Christianity actually helped Europe recover from the ruins of Rome, building/pioneering more private & public schools than any philosophy in history and inventing universities.

  • This was done precisely because the Bible emphasizes the wisdom and learning as crucial: Proverbs 3:15 tells us that “Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.” Proverbs 1:5 says, “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.” These and other verses inspired Christians to set up all the 1st universities which includes most of the Ivy league universities still leading the world today.

  • @TruthIsLife7 Jesus fucking christ dude. Spam much? (pun intended)

  • @terrifictanner1 Christian faith has always been based on evidence both from science, history and many of the greatest minds of history converted to Christianity PRECISELY because of the evidence from numerous fields. All you have to do to get me and many other Christians to seriously consider changing is to show any other worldview that has MORE evidence that it is true, MORE evidence of its benefits to life on earth and ideally evidence of a way to live forever.

  • It’s the height of stupidity & the death of science&rational thinking to follow concepts that have less evidence, This is what atheism advocates re: worldviews (although it tries to accomplish this a lot by HIDING the evidence &falsely claiming there is none. An equivalent claim would be claiming there is no evidence for the Big Bang. Christianity has far more evidence for it of many types than there is for the Big Bang (which btw, I also agree with and is 1 of the better proofs for God)).

  • Of all the 1000s of cultures in history, the Bible, Jewish/Christian scientists & Creation science philosophy built the foundations of modern science (modern scientific method, peer review process, 1st scientific journals, falsification, occam’s razor, etc.) &pioneered most of its branches. Dr. Hannam (Ph.D. in the history of science from Cambridge) lectures on some of this at the Royal Society (1st scientific society in history, started by a creationist):

    watch?v=I-k24Q01vck (see notes & links)

  • Nature&New Scientist highly recommend Dr. Hannam’s work as solidly researched. The records of history show that the foundations & infrastructure of modern science, education, human rights, morals &more were built largely on a Christian/creationist philosophy & they were drawing both principles & specific concepts, including scientific ones, directly from the Bible. Atheism has tried to kidnap science from its parents and & ban them from it, but is mostly a façade on a Christian superstructure.

  • @terrifictanner1 Jews & Protestants won ~86% of the Nobel prizes in science from 1900-1990. Without the Bible & Biblical scientists, you wouldn’t have modern science or at best you would be centuries behind the present. People who ridicule religion are like immature children who want to disown the parents that sacrificed everything for them. Atheism, materialism, etc. malign history to suit dogma. See my ~!Why be a Christian playlist and others for MUCH more evidence.

  • hold on not the warlock guy the truth is life guy yea thats the one sry other dude im ignorant too fuck me. but yea most of my ranting and raving is toward mr truthislife. you know what i think is the saddest thing about ppl like that is that you can argue with all your life you can try to reason with them. but their blind faith will never let you win the fucking argument and change their bat shit crazy ideology, and to top it off you cant keep them from breeding.

  • sry folks i cant take enough shots at this asshole a few comments down. we cant keep letting ignorant uneducated ppl get away with shit, i sincerely want to know what modern advances in science warlock4280 is talking about. i mean what kind of drugs are you on i could use some of that shit. some of it from the bible? Have you even read the bible? i sorta doubt it

  • @terrifictanner1 If you watch my Bible health science playlist, videos 1-3 (esp. see video #1, ~11:30+), you'll see National Geographic, Blue Zones based on NUMEROUS published papers, some supported by the NIH, NCI, etc. that following Bible health principles adds~10+ years to life on average. My grandpa right now is 103 and still going strong as are several grandparents of my friends in the same church. The Bible directly inspired a lot of medical, health and science advances.

  • i wrote out a long argument then a longer one then a longer one. And then divine intervention! its pointless to refute you. i wont win, cause you're like charlie sheen, a bitching rock star from mars. God bless! you better check yourself before you wreck yourself laugh out loud

  • im all for a little spirituality. but organized religion for the past 2000 yrs hasnt contributed to the overall human condition nearly enough for me or anyone with a rational brain to acknowledge any amount of good religion may have had on any level.

  • whoever you ppl are right below this comment saying Christianity is good or is common sense, you are very ignorant i am sry to say. Christianity laying foundations for science? thats horse shit. i would actually like to correct your uneducated remark by saying early Christianity did alot for the mass demise in education and natural knowledge after the collapse of the roman empire, something called the dark ages. Muslims of that period were far more educated in science and medicine.

  • Rick Warren quite the imagination! lmao what a doofus, I fucking love Bill Maher!

  • Pick and choose, take things out of context, make fun of what you know nothing about and think that you actually said something of significance.

We do have observable evidence of a Maker and mutations never order anything.

That leaves us having to face the music of our own making.

    watch?v=HoKVVYJ8KJM

  • Yeah, Bill you got us Christians.. I mean gosh, everything that has happened so far and is happening in today culture isn't totally be predicted in Revelations. Keep up the great work. Wow, Bill talk about being small minded to think humans are everything and nothing could be above us. Nice!

  • @AMEAGLE199 Revelations, right... I bet you are one of the idiots that thinks Obama is the Antichrist.

  • The day my church started pushing this book was the day I started thinking this is all a load of... rubbish.

  • bill maher is a tool.... in more ways than 1.

  • Bill is god.

  • From nothing... comes nothing! Don't be fooled by the author of lies. Funny Bill never argues about God with smart Christians.

  • @killuminatiAFF Becuase Bill Maher is not presenting a debate argument, he's doing comedy. Funny how "smart christians" (whatever that could mean while pointing at the sky saying 'god did it'" Have a group who is suitable for the debate, like Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Michael Shermer, and you want to field the claims of a comedian before them. And more specifically, Bill is a satirist, so his whole act is based upon pointing out the ridiculous things people say and do, he's not a professor

  • @MrY0ufail - Look up William Lane Craig he will destroy Harris, Dawkins, or Shermer. I understand Maher, and what he does., but his POV about god is totally ignorant, and not founded by philosophical research. He just hates God and the idea of him. W.L.C, the guy i mentioned above has debated and crushed some of the smartest college professors in the world on the subject of God. But if you are arguing your point, you have already made up your mind right? What else you got for me smart guy?

  • @killuminatiAFF Nothing besides the fact that I've watched Sam Harris make W.L.C. look like a devolved primate. William Lane Craig is smart, but he is defending a position which simply requires you to believe it. You can't sound smart when you do as much pleading as he does. Sam Harris does not claim to have divine knowledge on the subject of God, so he argues the point he can. However, WLC doesn't have divine insight either, he has faith which means he believes something without good reason

  • just watch, quit ur bitchin, and i should quit mine too :\ i shoulnt have written this in the first place, damn....

  • If there is any conversion here, it would be boredom to laughter.

And Bill brought the medicine of laughter to mankind.

    Great video.

  • Rick Warren's book on Purpose Driven Life is astonishing.

  • Bill has such charisma when he walks to the stage.

    He is a natural.

Anyway, it has been said efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.

  • Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them...

  • I've read the Bible for 35 years, finding this 4,000 yr old document full of truth about life in this universe. What a putz I was. Instead of reading the words of Moses or King David or Jesus Christ, I could have just come here and heard the words of truth from the likes of fine upstanding seers like "StoopidMonkey" or "DarkLordoftheMeme", while being serenaded by Bill Maher, the most disgusting human being presently on planet Earth. You people need help. The Bible would be a good start.

  • @Silverbee53 It's just comedy there guy... lighten up!

  • @Silverbee53 You fail at trolling.

  • @Silverbee53 : I AGREE!!!! Bible would be a great start--IF WE WANT COMEDY! We can learn all about how genocide, slavery, child abuse, having no thought for the morrow are good. We could learn about how we have "free will" to accept of reject christ---we have free will because the BOSS says we do. We can learn that we are totally "free" to reject christ and if we do we will burn for eternity. NON-MORAL BRONZE AGE FICTION!!! Men have believed in thousands of gods---what makes you right?

  • Atheists are in the same boat of christians or any other religious person, right? Are you 100% sure there is no God or There is God? You are not being relevant in your thinking, any fine thinker does not start by bashing a book, and state:

_ see, I proved the bible is wrong because "saying all you have said"!

You don´t present any philosifical arguments here, what you do here is just bashing, you need to be more relevant, before stating a disconnected statement!

    @pjmr71

  • @baladprata No we dont say that, we say there has never been any conclusive argument or evidence for it. Like for the flying spaghetti monster. Of course we dont know that there is a god, we just can say with almost certain propability that all of earths religions are false :D Thats very different from saying "there is definitly no god"

  • @baladprata Please learn to spell. I did not say definitively there is no God. Just said the bible is full of crap and promotes genocide, slavery, child abuse and lumps women in with beasts of burden and other chattels. Historicity wise it is crap. Morals wise, it is crap. It could be 100% factually correct and I would still say it is bollocks. Everyone from Adam and Eve through to Jesus was totally immoral. As for "Purpose Driven Life" - Rick Warren is an evil, judgmental man! My opinion!

  • Comment removed

  • @Silverbee53 why don't you save your hate for Rick Warren, since Bill just reading off Warren's book word by word, and I would like to see how you going to defend Warren's book.

  • @Silverbee53 "I've read the Bible for 35 years" - wow, that really sucks.

  • Listen to the moronic audience, Americans are just dumb.

  • Don't dispair! In organized religion there are plenty of people just wanting an easy solution to the problem of our mortality.

I grew up in a very religious home. I evolved and now think otherwise. I did read some of the book but found it profoundly stupid - so I stopped reading it. That said there are plenty of Christians who just adore such drivel. I am not one of those.

  • Biased against religion - no I was raised in it. I have evolved. The Purpose Driven Life is so amazingly stupid I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Sorry, I guess we have different criteria for value.

  • This book and the Bible are the world's two best sellers? You know what come next? The Quran and Mao's little red book! We are doomed as a species!

  • thanks. bill.

  • Is it kinda weird how often Rick uses the word "pleasure"? :P

  • So the reason for everything is because God likes to show off? o.O

  • @tweaker1bms

God likes to get his ego stroked by his subordinates.

  • @ciaobellakate "Ego" is the word kids are using these days eh? :P
