I am so sorry that Buttersco60 feels this way, We have just had a wonderful week. (granted we chose the less touristy spots to moor) but we saw wildlife and were not too bothered by any unruly behaviour. The rudest people were those who had hired large boats and were not of the lager fraternity. The rudest were the large family types that decided to move our small boat when we left it unattended and the Hooray type familes who decided its ok to bully your way into a spot where there is no room.

okayyy, but i do actually hand on heart know this guy and it was an accident and yeah he was stupid but he knows that and hates himself for it. he turned himself in to the broads authorities, there were 3 other people claiming to be him (i don't know why as they would have had to pay a fine). Yeh he was trying to be clever or whatever but he wouldn't risk his life for the sake of a video to be put on youtube, he only found out it was on here about 3 months after it happened.

To manoeuvre one of those Broads cruisers between the person in the water and the dinghy in my opinion would be downright stupid and probably exacerbate the situation resulting in certain injury perhaps death. These are not rescue boats and in most cases the holidaymakers on the Broads hire boats can barely steer straight they are crashing into each other or the bridges and banks half the time.

As a trained rescue boat driver myself this sort of thing happens more than u think and wen it does there's nothin u can do except hope the prop doesn't do n e damage it's easy to judge someone for there mistakes but it could have been alot more serious just a shame the person filmin this video did nothin to help the situation and should feel more ashamed of his/ her actions than the guy who fell out.

Can you name a good reason for not wearing a kill cord? The only occasion on which I would consider not wearing a kill cord on a RIB or inflatable is if I was carrying out a rescue in a situation that would become more dangerous if my engine cut out. I'm really struggling to think of any other valid reasons not to wear one, and I've spent several months driving RIBs for a living. I've been thrown out of a small RIB before, it wasn't fun but the kill cord probably saved my hand at least.

This video sums the Norfolk Broads today. It has been denied the protection that National Park status would have given it. It has become one big commercial venture for the boating brotherhood.

The peace and tranquillity and fresh air that this area was famous for has now been replaced by the smell and constant drone from diesel engines, and the drunken shrieking, shouting long into the night. It's a lawless place.

And the wildlife sod the wildlife, Money is God.
