okay first of all Americans are a mix of English men, mexican, french, arabic, asian etc. like its a huge multicultural nation, Americans need to RESPECT latin people ( puertorrican, cuban, dominican, spanish, mexican) and many others just as much as they respect italians, french, greeks, and others and we Latin's should respect American's just as well as they respect us. Education is still separate and unequal. Standardized tests and universities are racist. Testing goes back to the Eugenics movement of the 20's and 30's. IQ tests were used to determine who was genetically "inferior" (people who were minorities, mentally challenged, or of low income status were labeled thus). Those who scored low were forced to be sterilized. This happened in AMERICA. Hitler later embraced Eugenics during the Third Reich. Then a little something called the Holocaust happened...

it's on unequal because blacks and hispanics are admitted with lower grades and test scores. how about grades? are the grades students make in high school racist too? is history racist? math? biology? affirmative actions hurts blacks and hispanics who really are qualified, because when companies are hiring, they think that the person only got accepted to school because of their race, not their qualifications.

Not ALL Blacks and Hispanics have lower grades and scores; some minorities actually have scores higher than some white people (shocked?). Often minorities are labeled and given low expectations; education in America has gone awry. Yes, history is definitely skewed and racially biased. Yes, affirmative action does hurt minorities because it is often misused, Employers are afraid of being accused of reverse discrimination *eyeroll*. Who would want to work for an ignorant company like that anyway?

yes i realize that not all blacks/hispanics have lower grades and scores. that is why i said that "affirmative action hurts blacks and hispanics who really are qualified." affirmative action is the ultimate example of minorities being "given low expectations." it's not given to all minorities of course...only blacks, hispanics, native americans, and pacific islanders.
