The gorge scene always makes me cry - every single time. When I was little I cried when Simba discovered his dead father, but now that I'm older I cry when Mufasa is trying to save his son.
This is sooo sad. It's a shame how Disney went from Lion King and Tarzan to Hannah Montana and High School Musical. Don't think old Walt would like that...
I love the movie, the music and the musical. Just brilliant.
in MY version, the stampede would FLATTEN Simba; turning him into a pile of blood, organs and ravaged fur. Mufassa would come to see what was left, only to have Scar slit his throat and give a tremendous triumphant roar! Then he would return to pride rock, rape Sarabi and the credits would roll.
@andoresu1 Totally forgot about her. I would prefer that he tossed her into a mosh pit of starving crazed hyenas that ripped her to shreds like a pack of piranhas. You would hear her mortifying screams mixed in with the laugher and gnashing of teeth from all the hyenas gorging themselves.
If I owned a retail store I would put a big poster of Mufasa lying dead in the gorge every Black Friday that reads, "Whenever people act like wildebeests, God kills a kitten's daddy."
@beLIEver2558 Meh, I'm not a fearless savage yet manage to not cry or get sad. This is mostly because i watch the scene for the awesomeness of scar :D.
The lion king is the one movie that has made the greatest impact in my life. All my childhood memories have the lion king somehow intertwined in them(: then I hadn't watched it in a long time and seeing it in 3D truly reminded about how amazing this movie truly was. Its stupid saying all this about a movie but it's not just a movie to me, its memories that I will never forget-3 my children will LOVE this movie, I will make sure of it -;D
I remember first watching this when it came out in theatres in 1994!! I was only 6 years old, and this whole scene along with Mufasa's death gave me chills!!!
The most hilarious thing happened when I saw this in 3-D. After scar tells Simba it's Simba's fault Mufasa died; this old man down in front screams, "YOU'RE A GOD DAMNED LIE!" The entire theater burst into laughter.
The stamped was not cut out in 3D nothing was why would cut anything out its a classic movie and if you pay more to see a 3D movie they won't cut anything out even in 2D the only time when they cut out parts in movies Is when it's on cable and it's PG13 or R cause. There are cretin words they can't say on CBS ABCFAMILY .
It takes thirty seconds for all the wildabeast to stampede into the gorge 0:15 - 0:45, yet there seems to be thousands more added to them and takes significantly longer for them to pass, when technically it should have been over within thirty seconds after Simba got on the tree, considering the wildabeasts continued at a steady speed. That always bugged me as a kid, lol.
@cloud20zero Also their net force was only about 10N total which is much less than the force of gravity acting on Mufasa at the time ( 9.8 meters per second squared x Mufasa's mass) so therefore Mufasa should have been crushed under his own weight before being killed by the wilde beast. Although because they were running down a 90 degree slope, the vertical component of their net force would equal more than da force of gravity, so it I guess it all works out. That always bugged me as a kid, lol.
I've seen this movie about a billion times and I know every single line. So why am I gonna go see it in 3D? Cause this movie is BADASS!!! Classic Disney movie!
@ChancetheRabbit the wildebeest were done in 3d. i actually have to disagree with you, i think that production companies shouldn't be making 2d characters into CGI because it doesn't work most of the time.
Those wildebeests totally bowed to Mufasa at Simba's birth party, so why the hell aren't they like "Shit son, that's the king! Swerve around that shit!"?
