  • 2.08 - nice catch! Probably one of the most powerful scenes of the whole movie

  • I'm a 20 year old man and I'm crying :(

First movie I ever went to see too

  • This is sad but mufasas yell makes me giggle a Lil (:/ im a horrible person)

  • That is so sad

  • I feel like hitting the 'like' button would be cruel because Simba's father died...and I don't 'like' that, it's sad...good scene though

  • The gorge scene always makes me cry - every single time. When I was little I cried when Simba discovered his dead father, but now that I'm older I cry when Mufasa is trying to save his son.

  • This is sooo sad. It's a shame how Disney went from Lion King and Tarzan to Hannah Montana and High School Musical. Don't think old Walt would like that...

I love the movie, the music and the musical. Just brilliant.

  • hide right behind a rock, like on a angle so they jump over you.

  • oh jesus christ BENTON BENTON JESUS CHRIST

  • wow they just dont make kids movies like this anymore

  • My favorite part lol

  • if you truly love mufasa, you have to check out this blog ... not mine, but it is actually amazing and hilarious.

  • Fenton!

  • fuck. now i'm sad.

  • Still the best scene. Favorite soundtrack

  • WHY DIDN'T SIMBA JUST GO BACK TO THAT TREE STUMP WHERE HE ORIGINALLY WAS. GAH.

    :'(

  • The horror, the horror!

    It was awful!

A disaster, a terrible, terrible disaster.

  • Man...this scene stressed me out so much when I was a kid.

  • Fantastic, I do miss Disney...

  • in MY version, the stampede would FLATTEN Simba; turning him into a pile of blood, organs and ravaged fur. Mufassa would come to see what was left, only to have Scar slit his throat and give a tremendous triumphant roar! Then he would return to pride rock, rape Sarabi and the credits would roll.

  • @JuicyMullet1 No animal pedophilia with Nala? :(

  • @andoresu1 Totally forgot about her. I would prefer that he tossed her into a mosh pit of starving crazed hyenas that ripped her to shreds like a pack of piranhas. You would hear her mortifying screams mixed in with the laugher and gnashing of teeth from all the hyenas gorging themselves.

  • Fenton, FENTONNN!!

    OH JESUS CHRIST..!

  • @Scwirul you took the words out of my mouth!!!!!

  • FENTON!!

  • "Oh, look sire! The herd is on the move! Must be Black Friday!"

  • If I owned a retail store I would put a big poster of Mufasa lying dead in the gorge every Black Friday that reads, "Whenever people act like wildebeests, God kills a kitten's daddy."

  • A preview of Black Friday.

  • you are one fearless savage if you don't even shed a tear at this part. :'''''(

  • @beLIEver2558 Meh, I'm not a fearless savage yet manage to not cry or get sad. This is mostly because i watch the scene for the awesomeness of scar :D.

  • Black Friday ...

  • I still cry when I see this part! D':

  • AFRICANS WILL NEVER GO HUNGRY AGAIN!!!. HOLD ON SIMBA!!!!!!

  • Y'know what Scar? FUCK YOU!

  • It's so sad :(

  • one of the saddest moments in film history lol, saying that scar was my favourite :)

  • Scar. What a bastard. I was ten years old when I first saw this on original release. I still hate the fucker

  • The music that starts playing as Simba searches for Mufasa at 2:23 went through my head as I was trying to figure out a question to my math test

  • @vivalalove30 that just killed the moment

  • Fact : The CG department approximately took 3 years to animate just this scene.

  • Just been to see this at the movies with the kids, its was even better in 3D, i enjoyed it more then kids i think hehe x

  • Fuck you, Scar.

  • wow.. THREE YEARS to animate!!

  • As a child, i bead my heart out about this scene, and I still am crying

  • Oh great, now I'm sad

  • at 2:36 EVERYONE went crazy in the theatre :|

  • The lion king is the one movie that has made the greatest impact in my life. All my childhood memories have the lion king somehow intertwined in them(: then I hadn't watched it in a long time and seeing it in 3D truly reminded about how amazing this movie truly was. Its stupid saying all this about a movie but it's not just a movie to me, its memories that I will never forget-3 my children will LOVE this movie, I will make sure of it -;D

  • ..And hello 14 years of emotional trauma.

  • I thought cats always landed on their feet XD

  • @RoadSnausage XD HAHAHA.

  • I heard that this took Disney's CG department almost three years to animate!

  • 3:03 This is Sparta!!

  • Tourettes guy has totally ruined this for me:

    "PIISSSS"

"You can suck my dick, OR COCK"

    "SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT"

  • omggggg amazing

  • i cant believe this scene took the animators 3 years to animate..

  • To this day, this scene gives me goosebumps.

According to the directors, they didn't know just what impact this film would leave on the world.

  • scarface is a motherfuckin fake ass bitch

  • 3 years for 3 minutes of amazing cinematography.

  • imagine that this took disney 3 years to animate! :)

  • long live the king i still get freaked out at that part

  • it took disney 3 years to make this scene lol

  • This scene looked AMAZING in 3D!

  • Simbas Holy Fuck Moment: 0:20-0:23

  • I remember first watching this when it came out in theatres in 1994!! I was only 6 years old, and this whole scene along with Mufasa's death gave me chills!!!

  • 0:22 is the scariest still i've ever seen. i shivered in theaters

  • This makes me almost cry every time :(

  • The most hilarious thing happened when I saw this in 3-D. After scar tells Simba it's Simba's fault Mufasa died; this old man down in front screams, "YOU'RE A GOD DAMNED LIE!" The entire theater burst into laughter.

  • @deadrights7

The stamped was not cut out in 3D nothing was why would cut anything out its a classic movie and if you pay more to see a 3D movie they won't cut anything out even in 2D the only time when they cut out parts in movies Is when it's on cable and it's PG13 or R cause. There are cretin words they can't say on CBS ABCFAMILY .

  • "Long live the king."

Oh god I get chills every time.

  • Not to sound wierd but how do i go from Rainbow Dash yelling STAMPEDE!! to this?

  • lol this part was 10 times better in 3D!!!! GO 3D LION KING!!! XD it was awsomeeee

  • I remembered him saying Die Mufasa, not long live the king ?

  • goosebumps before it even started. f yea!!!!

  • This scene still gives me the chills, and so sad )):

  • So so sad :'(

  • thumbs up if =3 sent u here

  • Hanz Zimmer was *ahem* a little influenced by Mozart's Requim on this one. But taking Lacrimosa against To Die For, I don't know which I like better

  • Reminds me of the after thanksgiving shopping sales!!

  • Easily the 2nd saddest moment in disney history. The first obviously being the death of Bambi's mom.

  • @TriforceVGplayer yeah I agree

  • I saw this in 3D and I cried. Sadist scene ever.

  • The music @ 2:25 is burned into my brain. And the panic in Simba's eyes...that's the part I remember most, for some reason.

  • It takes thirty seconds for all the wildabeast to stampede into the gorge 0:15 - 0:45, yet there seems to be thousands more added to them and takes significantly longer for them to pass, when technically it should have been over within thirty seconds after Simba got on the tree, considering the wildabeasts continued at a steady speed. That always bugged me as a kid, lol.

  • @cloud20zero Also their net force was only about 10N total which is much less than the force of gravity acting on Mufasa at the time ( 9.8 meters per second squared x Mufasa's mass) so therefore Mufasa should have been crushed under his own weight before being killed by the wilde beast. Although because they were running down a 90 degree slope, the vertical component of their net force would equal more than da force of gravity, so it I guess it all works out. That always bugged me as a kid, lol.

  • Just watched this scene for the first time since I was a little kid (probably not even in third grade) over ten years ago, and HOLY CRAP!

  • Probably the saddest scene in this legendary classic

  • Probably the saddest scene in this legendary classic

  • This was scary as a kid in 2D. I can't even imagine the amount of childhoods it's about to ruin in 3D

  • @User2308117 I believe this is going to be cut out of the 3d version

  • @Deadrights7 Are you for real or are you just making a joke? Because the movie literally makes no sense if Mufasa isn't dead lol.

  • @Deadrights7 ohhh trust me it wasn't cut out of the 3D version....

  • @Deadrights7 It wasn't cut out. Trust me. I've seen it.

  • This must be AMAZING in 3D.

  • bet this is the most important 3D scene

  • i wish Scar and I could have a go, sometimes...lol

  • i thought cats were suposed to land on their feet

  • When i was young, this was the scariest thing i'd ever seen in my life

  • @RAHHicecream Then you grew up and saw Ellen DeGeneres.

  • Those wildebeest ran down a 90 degree slope.

  • @coreythecreeper

    get off the vestibule

  • @rickyroyrubio Problem?

  • @coreythecreeper Clearly they were trained by Chuck Norris...

  • I think I know who I want to be reincarnated as in my next life (scar)

  • I LOVE THE LION KING MUSIC!!!

  • This is how I learned about death in my childhood.

  • that scene and music at 1:52 it just sends shivers down my spine. My hairs are standing straight up really, most intense scene ever.

  • Fucking wildebeests, they ruined everything

  • Why didn't simba's daddy give a kingly roar to halt the running beasts, isn't he the king?

  • those hyenas are dicks

  • Scar, I love you but you are EVIL!!!!!

  • oh God...pause it at 2:58...Scar is having a bad day

  • I've seen this movie about a billion times and I know every single line. So why am I gonna go see it in 3D? Cause this movie is BADASS!!! Classic Disney movie!

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Long live the king. Best line ever

  • 0:24 most epic shot of the whole stampede

  • 2:08 bite down. :D

  • This scene is awesome in 3D. Still heart-wrenching...but it looks amazing.

  • (hums) It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all...everybody now!

    (We hear a toilet flush)

If you have seen 1 1/2, you might get this joke!

  • I still cry when I see this movie :o

  • Thumbs up if you screamed along with Simba.

  • Scar at @ 2:09 is a perfect picture of 1 Peter 5:8 in the Bible. Peep it.

  • finally mufasa is dead

  • @TheTruePassionPlayer then it's good Scar died.

and it's not good that Mufasa died, he is my fav. character

  • @Mariokartstopmotion1 no dude i felt the same way although mufasa's death did make me cry

  • @ChancetheRabbit the wildebeest were done in 3d. i actually have to disagree with you, i think that production companies shouldn't be making 2d characters into CGI because it doesn't work most of the time.

  • @ihateplato They're not converting the movie into CGI, they're just adding 3d effects.

The movie itself stays in the same original format..

  • Those wildebeests totally bowed to Mufasa at Simba's birth party, so why the hell aren't they like "Shit son, that's the king! Swerve around that shit!"?

  • @fletchyface, panic.

  • @fletchyface You're right, I never thought about that!

  • can't wait to see this in 3D

  • crying.

  • Jeremy Irons was so good in that park.

  • This scene took over THREE YEARS to make

  • I almost had to cry, and I'm 18. (but I'm also a girl so I guess it's ok)

  • 1:50 BITCH SLAPPED!!

  • simba:shall we run for our lives?

    chamelion:oh yes lets

    both:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

  • @Mariokartstopmotion1 me too! i thought that too!

  • Shall we run for our lives?

    oh yes lets!

    AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • when i was little i thought it was simba's roar that started the stampede

  • @DestructiveDonut1 it both did, also with the hyenas

  • every time i see simba's face with fear. i couldn't help but laugh xD

  • Long live the king! Best line EVER

  • @JuicyMullet1 then a poacher shoots him in the jugular at the end of the credits lmao

  • Why did Simba's dad die? Because he didn't Mufasa!

  • @User2308117 I don't get it.

  • @FamilyGirl566 Mufasa=Move fasta

  • @codafett I was bein' sarcastic, besides, it's not funny, Simba was really broken hearted.

  • @FamilyGirl566 Well damn Tv tropes was right I can't explain shit to some people

  • @User2308117 OMG I LOLD SO HARD

  • @User2308117 what the hell are you talking about I dont understand

  • @manwithouthat44 The joke is Mufasa sounds like 'move faster'. So if Mufasa had run faster he might have lived.

  • @MultiRickRolled ooh ok I understand. corny joke. still doesnt make any sense though. It wouldnt have made any difference how fast hed run... the front of the herd was already miles away when mufasa arrived at the gorge.......

  • anyone else hear Mufasa say brother twice at around 2:52?

  • @minicolster Scar said brother first after Mufasa says 'scar'

    then Mufasa says Brother

  • Did anybody else noticed how he initially jumps into the ledge and it's like this: / and then we see him hanging from the same ledge which somehow turned out to be like this: |

    ?

  • MOMOMOMOMOMOMIOMOMOM

    PROMO

  • The musical score is what gets me emotional, especially from 2:01

  • Mufasa (being thrown from the cliff): AAAAH! i hope my son throws you to a pack of psychotic hyenas!!!

  • i don't know why but this affects me a lot more as an adult than it did as a kid

  • @amidala904 It's because as kids we don't really understand the motives behind the actions, now as adults we known exactly what Scar wanted and how he ruthlessly killed his brother and tried to kill his nephew.

  • The first 20 seconds of this scene was enough to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid, let alone the sad bits to follow. A bloody great film tho, never EVER tire of watching it

  • NO , NOT MUFASA!!!

    TAKE JUSTIN BIEBER INSTEAD!!!!

  • @CamiEvansLOL Your comment made me laugh so hard!

  • SCAR>>> THAT BASTARD!

  • The Epis Scene in disney History!

  • That background music sends shivers up my spine

  • At the part where Mufasa is falling off of the cliff by the stampede, he is trying to pull himself up and before he says "brother" to Scar you can hear someone say it before him, as if they were trying to remind him of what to say.
