  • My grandmother sang this to me.....jesus I must have been a terror! great song with a sense of the dark side of the Irish humor. So lucky to be be a plastic paddy.

  • THIS IS A BABY SONG. TO HEAR ADULTS SING IT IS IGNORANT AND INSULTING. I MEAN, COULD YOU EVER SEE A PROPER POP STAR SINGING OLD MOTHER HUBBARD ON TOP OF THE POPS? I CAN'T EITHER!

  • This song is bloody depressing and not cheerful, to listen to either I heard it many years ago and will not listen to it ever again it is embarrassing to listen to and it is a song I hated twenty odd years ago.

  • sad that men like these (real dubliners) are a thing of the past. i miss these times compared to the shambles of a country that we live in now. i know times werent good in the past but men where men and being irish meant somthing

  • MIKEY TREACY IS GAY!!!!

  • that reminds me of another song we used to sing a lot, "Dreadful Wind And Rain", beautiful music, but cruel lyrics, see if you can find it...

  • only the dubs and the irish can think of a song like this

  • @gmcfc There is also a Swedish version of this by Euskefeurat, Kwad or Nere vid Piteälva. To be found here on Youtube
