So let's say Tate do refuse sponsorship from BP as you want. How do you propose they fill that funding gap? The government won't do it, other companies won't do it.... will you do it? Or maybe you'd like to decide which art work doesn't get saved, or explain to staff why they're losing their jobs because you don't like the company who is funding them.

Any idiot can complain, it takes a stronger person to help find the solution.

@knitterbird Oh come on! The Tate is one of the most famous modern art museums in the world They are hardly going to close down because they don't take money from an oil company. There is a principle here about who you take funding from...modern art movements were built on oppositional political radicalism and I am sure that the earlier artists venerated in the Tate would be excited by this campaign...as any artist should be now.
