Man I did this, and it worked great....then after I parked it at BK, I got back in car and the damn parking break was beeping non stop. The dvd still works while in drive, but my parking break is beeping. I took the yellow/black wire and twisted it with the green parking break wire and the black ground wire....what did I do wrong?
Now If i can figure out how to avoid the 10 MPH interface constraint I'd be good to go.
Use a straightened out staple inserted in the front which closes the clip that holds the pin in place. Just keep trying and moving it around to different positions in the hole. Also, holding it with a small pair of needle nose helps. Once you close the locking clip with the staple it pulls right out. There's a video on You Tube that shows how to do it.
hey sound man thank you for letting us know the position of the wire but there's an easier way to by pass it, just add a new wire into the hole and tie wrap it to the harness so it wont come out. so you dont wreck the plug and if you need warranty pioneer will never know you if the by pass it. have a good day.
I have an x920bt and I have a problem. Lately everytime I turn it on a message saying "caution recently played playlist is 90% Full," then it just gives me an OK option. How do I clear the recently played playlist???
I answered my own question. On a side note, if you end up breaking the female pin connector like I did, you can go to Fry's and buy a female D-Sub pin connector and it works just fine, instead of buying a whole new harness.
i tried doing this did everything you did but when i connect the 3 wire together an ground them the screen wont turn on ,but when i take the "mute" wire off an ground it seperate the screen turns on.. help me please?
Hi, I have a 2007 impala and installed a avic-z120bt and the volume won't go up nor down and the system comes one when my car is turned off with key out. Does anyone know what may be the problem? Thanks
No need to cut the connector. There is a tiny hole right above the mute pin hole. Use a jeweler's screw driver, shove it into that hole & tug on the mute wire. It'll come right out.
READ THIS!! Be patient on the plug, take your time. Then move yellow mute wire over one slot. Then, attach the yellow mute and the light green parking break wire together. Then use both of these and splice with the black ground wire from the other smaller plug. Make sure that wire in grounded. Then WA LA!!
People ask about the GPS causing the video to stop because it senses speed...it won't. Just do what I said above and it will work. All other features sti
I have successfully applied this bypass. You guys are Awesome. I was able to move the yellow cable over to the left and pushed it in until it clicked in properly. I can now drive and watch a movie without a problem. The GPS used to detect movement and display the warning screen. I no longer have this nasty screen upon movement. THANKS!!
does it matter that none of my av in av out wires are being used? the whole harness has nothing attached to the wires will the moving over of the mute wire still work? And of course i broke the pin so i need to get a new harness.
Thank you!!! Works on my AVIX-X920BT. The pin is very easy to remove on it. Just push in the pins on the sides of the harnes and lift the top latch. Pin comes right out. Be carefull not to let the other wires fall out while the latch is open.
Why cut the cable??? All you have to do is open the lock on the bottom of the connector, remove the MUTE wire, slide it in the new slot and then push the locking mechanism on the bottom of the connector

@MusicFan1959 Yes, it does.

lol cant you just buy the pin removal tool from Fry's Electronics for $5 - 10 bucks, and do a professional job with the harness?
It will save 5:19 seconds of time

I've already installed my speed sensor wire and parking brake wire. Do I need to disconnect those in order for this to work?

I messed up and cut the end of the mute wire to where half of it is still in the harness does this mean i have to order a hole harness again.

Will this disable the ability to mute your unit?

is that the same wire harness that comes with the unit, or do you have to purchase a seperate one?

is there no way to just get another wire with a pin all by itself? Instead of hacking one out just to move it?

Costs $75 to replace the harness if you damage it..
