  • One of the importances of goal-setting is to make them realistic. I already think President Obama has a hard enough time to cut the deficit in 4 years (during a harsh economy, no less). How about letting him aim for that goal.

And nothing is stopping the Legislative Branch from setting your own goals. We're only going to get through it together...not divided.

  • The public debt is rounding the 11 trillion mark not to mention the interest we are paying on it. He may balance a yearly budget but he wont pay down any of the debt he helped create with these stimulus bills. He will have to raise taxes and that will make the markets dive even more. We all know he wont touch the third rail of entitlements which account for 66% of the yearly budget. How can he balance by cutting the other third? It does not add up.

  • Coryn, I suspect that you and your Republican cronies will always find fault with what President Obama wants to accomplish. First, you're mostly lawyers. Lawyers are adversarial in nature. Next, for him to succeed as a Democrat, you fail as a Republican. If he could find a way to cut the deficit by 50% by 2013, it would be a miracle. Why don't you try a little bipartisian behavior instead of finding fault? America needs leadership right now, not nitpicking fault finding politicians.
