Nightflyyer, Thankyou for your hard work years back, thanks to you & Kyosho so many people have been able to fly now, many city people don't have space to fly their planes, at least theyre heli dreams have been fulfilled finally! Thanks again!
PS; The Hyperfly can also can HOVER in a 5 knot head wind. Airplanes aren't known for hovering except the newer model 3D & 4D R/C planes. However they require 4 channels to do so.
My F-16 would fly straight & level without wings, because it has a lifting fuselage. It also flys that way on the (Aerofly) simulator, if you over-stress it and break them off in flight. Helis have rotating wings, for sure. The point was this. I made a machine that flew well when RC helis were brand new, and with way less parts and flying complications with only 2 controls to worry about versus the new helis with 7 control funtions to worry about all at once, and beyond most folks skill levels.
It doesnt matter. It was proof of concept and a machine that could fly with only 2 channels, which is already better, because it required way less parts an money to make.

could i make one myself with a helicopter and a saw?

This is amazing! I never thought it was possible to fly a single rotor helicopter without tail rotor.
Quite an ingenious concept you came up with!

You should be very proud of that thing, quite an amazing achievement.Must be nice having something that you have made in a museum.

thought it was a great video and invention!!!
i also thought that your other video: I don't need no "stinking" tail rotors on my ELECTRIC heli.
was great too!!!

Thanks, but there are really lots of other "bests" in the world. I really appreciate your comment, however.

This started out as a proof of concept vehicle. Kyosho decided it would make a good model. It did.
It also teaches how to look at a model helicopter and practice orientation.
Besides that, it only needs 2 channels to fly. In those days, that was an accomplishment.

what did it do that a plane couldn't have done better?
WalneyCol 5 years ago
can a plane fly without wings? By the way, what makes some plane fliers such arseholes! It's a fact that some helicopter fliers are smarter!
jnuness 4 years ago
Yes a plane can fly without wings, but only in a very very steep dive ;-) Also FYI, a heli's rotors are also wing's, can a heli fly without them? No!
