It reminded me when I was 14 years old.Rene came from Cananda to Japan and grabbed many girls' heart. I was one of them. Without studying I listend to to his record thousand of times. But fortunately I became ane eye doctor and still enjoy playing the violin. Maybe next year we play Vivaldi's Gloria with Choir.I hope my 12 year old son could join it, althogh his voice has already changed.
Wow! What a voice. I remember listening to this song when I was young, also, in Rhode Island. We cold get some of the Montreal radio stations at night and even then I thought his voice was just beautiful.
He is just an Angel sent from Heaven and with the softest and Most Precious voice and skin. If you are reading this Rene please sing a song for my grand son who is with you in Heaven miss you Baby Ryan
I beg your pardon, but this song is not an english traditional christmas song, but a catholic and french one. The lyrics were written in the 19th's century, around 1843, by Placide Cappeau, a southern France poet, living in Provence, at Roquemaure. And the music is from Adolphe Adam, a french opera and ballets composer. The original name of this christmas carol was Cantique de Noël which latter became Minuit chrétien.
Adolphe Charles Adam (1803 – 1856) "Minuit, chrétiens!" (1847)

Well, this one was originally written in French and then translated into English, but it's a beautiful melody to any language.
