"It's narcissistic to think that the world wants to see you in all your decrepitude."
It's also narcissistic to think that the world should revolve around whether you want to see it or not, as if you should cover yourself up to spare Bill Maher a moment of disgust.
I like Bill well enough, but damn, man. No one pointed that out?
I really like Bill, but I have to disagree. The human body is a beautiful thing, and to say that women or men over 30 over or overweight shouldn't be wearing revealing bathing suits is so disrespectful. Someone should be able to feel comfortable wearing whatever they want without the consent of others, because it's not about having to look at something YOU don't like, it's about someone else's freedom to wear whatever they may (or may not) want to wear.
My biggest pet peeve is people living every waking moment on their damn phone texting ect. I was on a date two weeks ago and this girl wouldnt put her damn phone away so I grabbed it and threw it outside on the ground and busted it. I am 33, maybe I have an oldschool mentality when it comes to phones but no junior high school kid needs to be carrying around a phone.
I still haven't gotten used to seeing people walking down the street who appear to be talking to themselves, when they're using a hands-free phone or a Bluetooth or whatever. It looks fucking weird!
the drive-through comparison was stupid, I thought. People aren't necessarily grabbing food so they can eat. These people are full of unqualified assumptions and red-herrings.
Poor Lionel Richie. The guy travels all around to world, goes into an expensive restaurant and all he gets to hear is a cellphone ringing? Fuck man that dudes living the harsh life.
Oh, Bill is so inconsistent with his opinions... Most of the time he's preaching about how it's not the society's job to protect people from hurt feelings, but when it's something that bothers him personally, the tone changes...
@flymurdererfly Things change over the years. You have to grow over time with your personal opinions. What do you want some robot christian who thinks their rules are still relevant today. Everyone's opinion changes if they are open minded.
@lilsm555 You can see him rooting for personal freedoms in this show, i.e. at the same time period when he made this comment. It seems to just be incosistency, not a changed opinion. But as a matter of principle, I do applaud you for having an empathic attitude toward people, that's always a good thing :)
It seems like now though, since everyone has a cell phone, people do have better etiquette. I think texting helped a lot. Back when this was made, people were still used to just taking every call you get, like people used to do with their landlines.
Now people are used to cell phones, and if they're in public places, they either have short conversations or text, and when they're in restaurants, they turn the ringers off and and just text. You don't hear every detail of people's lives anymore.
And once again politically incorrect misses the point... The ONLY person whose decision it should be whether or not you can use your cell phone in their establishment or not is the OWNER OF THE FUCKING ESTABLISHMENT. If they are willing to lose the business they would lose from people refusing to go to their establishment because they won't be allowed to use their cell phone then IT IS THEIR CHOICE.
bill welcome to the new age.....values and morals will change also common courtesy too. sorry for the boomers...they don't understand alot of whats going on.
If its the whole restaurant on the phone then you're the one who's in the minority and your "rules" would infringe on everyone else. So because YOU'RE uncomfortable you can tell everyone else what to do? No, if everyone else engages in a social behavior then conform to it or go somewhere else.
@atltallone907 Because people dont pay attention to whats going on when their on their cell phones. Ive seen people almost get hit by cars because they were on their cellphones and honestly i dont want to hear their conversations. smoking weed does not distract you from anything.
those aren't tanned shes actually Mexican they have copper skin like that naturally they don't have to tan ......just saying i made that mistake before
Oh, give me a break. He's all about civil liberties and he's a libertarian and what not, but he's all for legislating who can and cannot wear bikinis on the beach??? But then again, I think he's just joking, but sometimes I really can't tell w/ him...
well if u are a libertarian but u think eveyrone else in the world is stupid and isn't skilled enough to handle heavy machianry, then u can be a libertarian and a democrat at the same time

I'm from Long Island. My "accent" is not even remotely noticeable compared to Cory Kahaney's high-pitched, overtly Jewish squeal.
