How to take a classic, and make it their own, while respecting the original... by Scissor Sisters. There is no slavish copying here; the song is upbeat in a tongue-in-cheek way, entirely unlike the original, which was immensely (and wonderfully) creepy.

That being said, nothing touches the original -- it's one of my favorite PF works, forever and ever, amen.

I love pink Floyd and the Scissor Sisters. Artists are entitled to their own interpretation of a song and I think they took a classic here and put their own funky spin on it. Not everyone might enjoy this version but that doesn't mean people have to completely bash this band. Be a bit more open-minded, take your musical senses on an experimental trip - it's what Pink Floyd did and still does.
