Polar sea ice melts with the rising temperature thus dumping much more water into the oceans then before. The increase in cold sea water slows the global oceanic thermal channels and slowly creates a more radical shift in average temperature between seasons on a world scale.
@hogendorn See Wikipedia's Climate Change article. I saw a graph there, that is called "Vostok petit data.svg". Nobody has noticed, that it shows a cycle of 100000 years, where a spike of hot climate occurs. We have passed our spike and might be entering the normal ice age for the next 100000 years

the next ice age will come after it.
