I would also suggest taking a course on Personal Area Devices.

5)After you have logged in ,go to control panel and create a new user account with administrative rights.

6)Remove konboot usb flash and restart your computer.

7)Login to your new administrator account (without pass) ,go to control panel and find your previous user account and select > delete (or remove) password.

8)Restart pc and login with your previous account and then you can delete the new you created and everything should be fine;))

.....Personally I used my usb flash because is much more easy.

3)You go to konbootInstall.exe in the folder USB Konboot you downloaded.You install Konboot to you Flash as shown in the above video(typing the letter of the usb drive to the command programm that asks you for)

4)You turn on your locked PC and select (pressing f12 at the very start of booting) >boot usb flash drive.Then you select Konboot program and it leads you to the logon screen where you bypass the locked pass by pressing enter

I downloaded Konboot and then all became simple :)

It has good guides within the download folder or for more direct explanation do the exact :

1)Use a computer with internet connection and download Konboot v 1.1. (for windows 7)

2) You will need a usb or a Cd to install konboot so you can boot it from your locked computer

@punanibuzzed Change BIOs setting will not help. Remove the battery boot up. Shut down. Restart and presto into the BIOS we go.

@punanibuzzed BIOS settings do not require you to log into any OS. Its technically a physical thing but I wont confuse you about that. When you start the computer the FIRST screen you see is the BIOS thingy. It will tell you which keys to press for BIOS options or boot device order (mine is F10 for options, F9 for boot device order) Once you get into options its pretty easy to navigate. If you don't have a password set on your BIOS you shouldnt have any problem

For all who want to get by bios pass word pease read these instructions:

1. unplug the compute

2.take out battery in computer(it looks like a silver coin).

3. wait an hour

4. put battery back in and turn on the computer.

5.pull up the setup menu as the computer is turning on and from there should have access to the security settings.

u should be able to figure out wht to do from there unless u are a moron(or did it wrong).

You have to download the program then put/burn it onto a Blank CD. Then insert the CD (After putting the program on the CD) into the computer you wish to bypass.

I can get Kon-Boot to boot from my usb I let it do it's thing and it comes back to the main menu it then lets me boot to windows from the second option and I press enter at the windows login screen and it still says the password is incorrect. I'm running windows 7 and it's version 1.1. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or what could have went wrong?

@LordAzanko I had no luck with Kon-Boot. I used Ubuntu to clear my windows 7 password. That worked. I had trouble with it at first but that's because I was using a newer version of pwchnt. So I suggest trying an older version of Kon-boot or giving Ubuntu a try. If you use Ubuntu it's super easy and if you need any help I'd be willing to help you out. It's frustrating as hell so I feel your pain man.

@tempviduse put the disc in your drive then restart your comp and if it doesnt autoboot the disc youll need to press wtvr key it is to go into bios during bootup and change it so your disc boots before your os. i think... XD

This doesn't work as easy as Britec09 shows it. The only way you can use this with Vista/7 is if you have version 1.1 - If you have that version then your good to go.

Found out about kon boot myself awhile back.. and altough its amazingly simple but it doesn't always work we'll I've only gotten it to work in a vm..

one that has worked everytime for me though is chntpwall.. its a slax distro with an automated chntpw installation. Sadly it does modify the machine.

It'll erase all passwords and upgrade all users to admin
