Hi! I'd like to ask a question. I always listen to music while drawing. Is it better to not listen to music at all, or can I listen to music that has no lyrics? Because you said it's better to not be exposed to noise.
@MsCroatoan heeey, thanks for the question! in my opinion listening to music can definitely play a role in the way u draw... like we used to listen to jazz sometimes in class and it kind of got everyone in the zone to draw. jazz, classical, anything with no lyrics probably be the best because lyrics tend to make the mind think in "words" (the analytical brain side which differs from the "drawing" side)music is good to relax into the "drawing state". it lets the mind relax, hope that helps!

@drawfd Lol, no I haven't bought the book yet, but I did go to hasting and checked it out, flipped through it, and took a glance. I Instead bought A Contract with God, but it will be part of my collection very soon.

I havent read a graphic novel in a while... last one was spiderman blue by tim sale. the book drawing on the right side u can get it for about 9 dollars including shipping on half com. i will be making a new vid soon of reviewing art books!!
You're so charming. Thank you for sharing this info. It reminds me of this video featuring a conference of animators for Disney's TPATF and they each had to draw in public the character they were supervising. One was hesitant to draw, even imparting his insecurities out loud. When he showed the drawing he did in his studio, it was more elegant. Or he was not thinking too much then. XD

OMGosh, your video is totally great! I have been such a fan of this book since I got it in high school which was...gulp...28 years ago! It is cool she came out with the 'new' version. It's like the bible of drawing. Your enthusiasm for drawing is awe-inspiring! Great channel!

And yeah, you can record the talking after you do the drawing, kind of the guy for idrawgirl channel does. Maybe it'll help that way ;)
