Legendary L.A. disc jockey Charlie Tuna (real name Art Ferguson) is the narrator. Began in his teens at KOMA in OKC, then to WRKO Boston, then on to "Boss Radio" 93/KHJ in Los Angeles in late 1967. Still on the air today weekends at K-EARTH 101 FM in L.A. Still sounds great at 65!

As far as I can see - the Doors' Light My Fire had to have been inspired by Sly Stone's "Wanna Take You Higher", which is a superior piece of music by far; by superior musicians.
Don't like compilations like this anyway - because they reflect the biases of those putting them together.
Nope it sure wasn't. Light my Fire came out in 1967. 'Wanna Take You Higher" from the album "Stand" didnt come out until 1969. Plus they're two TOTALLY different types of music made by two completely different genre groups--one from Northern Cal (Sly) and the other from Southern Cal (Doors) Both are good songs, but its apples and oranges...

Jim Morrison wasn't a rock genius, he was a poet. I wish more people understood that.
