  • In Flanders Fields, by John McCrae. The poem was written upon a scrap of paper upon the back of Colonel Cosgrave, in the trenches, during a lull in the bombings on May 3, 1915, after he witnessed the death of his friend, Lieutenant Alexis Helmer, the day before.

  • And John McCrae threw it away, yet, one of the soldiers found it.

  • Bravo... I am a Vet myself and Flanders field is one of my favorites.

  • You gave me 5 Stars, and I give you 6. That was a moving tribute. I would suggest that you email it to all VFW Organizations and the Gold Star Mothers. They appreciate our tributes. We just returned from the Vet Day Tribute in Atlanta, and having served from '71-'77, these days make up for the welcome we never received. Not that we expected one, but we did not expect to be spat upon. Bless our troops, and may they come home safe. Stormsurge

  • I think your video says it all. All war is hell

  • THAT WAS EXTREMELY MOVING GREAT WORK

  • wow very sad, but brilliant video and well down. thanks for sharing

  • Excellent tribute - thank you for sharing this video.

  • Brilliant video and well done. Very fitting especially for a day like today. It's nice to see young people such as yourself pay tribute to our soldiers - past, present and future. For if it was not for our soldiers we would not be able to exercise our freedoms as we do each and everyday (i.e. YouTube) May God ALWAYS bless our men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces past, present and future.

  • It is important to remember on this day not only the soldiers that fought for the allies, but all the soldiers who died regardless of their nationality. And it is important to remember the horrors of war and to prevent them from happening again.

  • This was very well thought out. It is a great tribute to our soldiers. May war someday be just a thing of the past!

  • Well done.It is a nice tribute to the soldiors who died in my backyard.I think it is very important that the graves near Ieper, and in Flanders Fields in general, are still there. They are kept clean and nice, to honour those brave men.I made a small video, but it's just a pan over one graveyard. Thanks for your pm and the rating, I returned the favour: 5/5, well earned! Cheers!

  • Great job and thx for your pm and the positive content....your clip is awesome 5/5 stars....go on and try to create more like this video!

  • Beautiful, sadening, emotional, I could go on for hours describing this exemplary video. These are the videos that show that people really do care. Thank you so much for this touching video.

  • Remarkable! I sit here and cry as I write. The saddest thing of all is the tourch keeps getting tossed. If only we could and would learn that the very best way that we can honour all the courageous men and women who have died in wars is to live in peace. Speak softer words, abandon hatred, and be a respector of every living thing.

  • beautiful, sad, poetic and haunting. Do we know what was sacrificed for our freedom??? thank you for honoring those who have fought for it. blessings to you.
