  • Don't know what previous poster brooklynstudio hears but I'm hearing lovely fat rock, hard rock, and bluesy tones here man! Not to mention the Soltero is sexier lookin' than any les paul or prs!

  • Me imagino que estos videos son para mostrar el producto y la variedad de tonos no una sesión de lo mismo... al final no se ve si es versátil...

  • i wanto to buy this guitar but i'm not sure, what choose this or Prs Se singlecut?

I have short fingers..and when i played a gibson sg, i like it very much cause of comfort..easier than a fender stratocaster

  • One note, the Dean Soltero Standard is a Classic Rock / Blues Rock / Post Grunge Rock guitar not a death metal guitar.

  • I have a Dean Soltero Braziliaburst flame maple top and the grain is as good as anything Gibson makes except for maybe their AAAA Custom Shop flame tops. The Dean Soltero Select Korean cost 1/3 of a Gibson Les Paul Standard. In 2008 these guitars came stock with Dimarzio classic humbuckers, stock tone coil taps on both pickups, Grover tuners and built in strap locks. Solteros are better quality than a current made Gibson Les Paul Std and they slaughter a Epiphone Les Paul.

  • The tone sounds very much like generic twangy blues crap.

  • tones terrible here, so much for fat tone guitars

  • I'm about to get one (made in korea) cause i found it very easy to play, but i'm gonna play more neoclassical than other style of metal. I dont know if she's gonna sound good for neoclassical. Something like Luca Turilli sound... Someone know the answer?

  • Thin Body that makes Guitar bad, and Takes alot of Sustain! That's Why PRS are the Best Guitars, Fat Body and Sustain For Days and SICK tone! Also the Dean From Hell is Made Perfectly! Godlike Pups and Sick woods and perfect balance on the shape!

  • This guitar or the epiphone les paul?

  • this one, obviously...

  • this one is a cut above the epiphone. this is the soltero sl - japanese made - and a little better than the soltero standard. this would presumably kick the epiphone's ass, but it would cost more accordingly

  • id take even a $200 dean over an epi anyday

  • @cryoalchemist Actually the new Prs SE 25th Custom 24 Beats eather, PRS SE's are amazing.......Epiphone Tribute is good too.....

  • @TheFrostyDealer ive narrowed down my options to:

    1) Gibson Sg Faded

    2) Prs SE 25th Custom 24 &

    3) Dean Soltero....

WHICH ONE???? Any info would be appreciated.....

  • @cryoalchemist Forget the soltero, if you like the soltero look at schecter solo's, otherwise PRS SE, or maybe a gibson les paul studio faded, or maybe a epiphone les paul tribute.....but g to guitar center or wherever and try them!

  • @cryoalchemist Hey man, watch the advise you take here. There is no PRS SE that even comes close to a Dean. You will have to go with the Paul Reed Smith not the PRS SE(korean made) The cheapy deans blow all of the competition away and when you get to the Japanese or USA models, forget about it! Even Gibson, unless you are willing to drop over$4000.00 for a Custom Shop piece cannot compete, much less a Schecter? or a PRS SE?? Get the Deany! Can't go wrong.

  • @cryoalchemist There is NO epi that is close, none!

  • nice :D

  • lol i'm deffo getting this for crimbo now, so i won't have to start learning a tune on my acoustic to learn guitar from only to find i can't reach the frets! also, electric just sounds better.

    noob power :D

  • Give me one with a spalted maple top (on a mahogany body), a raw maple neck (with rosewood fretboard), with the Tom Maxwell pinstripe, and you've got a deal Dean.

  • oh look the same guy who called dean zelinsky a dipshit wants a dean guitar. youre a fucking prick revolutionday1.

  • OH look at the fucking psycho Youtube-stalker fuck! Just because I can appreciate the design etc. doesn't mean I want to have the guy's baby. Grow the fuck up.

  • I think revolutionday1 has a nice idea, I would buy with those specs!!!!!

  • i agree with revolutionaryday1. Dean Zelinsky is an absolute idiot, but he makes great guitars

  • nice !!!

  • who is the neck?

  • Very nice.

  • i will buy this guitar next week, ... is it good to play

    ?

  • GREAT to play!

  • I own a Soltero SL (Japanese). I love it. It's the best guitar I've ever played. I love the feel and I love the tone and playability. I like the bite and comfort of Fenders and the sustain of Gibson Les Pauls. But I dislike the weight and mushy muddyness of many Les Pauls, and the price. I get the best of all worlds with my Dean Soltero SL. Plus, it sounds unique so it stands out. It's not thin sounding - that's bite and note clarity that you hear. You might not be used to that as an LP owner.

  • thinking about buying the soltero..the one made in korea not sure if this is it or not..got a strat just looking for something different to mess around with..would rather have the american one but cant afford it right now..anybody know anything about this..really concerned with qualilty everything else is opinion

  • your description of this says it has a rosewood fingerboard. the sl has ebony. might wanna correct that

  • i got this guitar today

  • sounds thin no depth papery.

  • looks alot like the les paul doesnt it

  • does look like, but not really anything near to it in sound xDD

i own a les paul and mine doesnt really sound like this at all, mines got more of a deeper tone you could say, and this one sounds ''thin''. but yeh, bodywise its not got alot of difference.

  • "Fat tone guitars", the tone of this guitar is anything but fat.

  • yeah, because amp and cabinet have nothing to do with tone, right?

  • Comment removed

  • i know dude i was being sarcastic to the guy who said the tone of the soltero is "anything but fat."

  • oh that was you who said that

  • man i love the soltero =)

  • Next question, is it an US-model, an SL (japanese) or korean guitar? How much do this guitars differ in sound? Thanks again. Very nice sound!!!

  • Hey--The Soltero in this video is an SL (Made in Japan). They sell for around $2000 or so. Great sustain, beautiful figured maple tops. The Select and Standards are made in Korea and sell for around $650-700. Good build quality, nice humbuckers. Also good.

  • damn

  • Could you make the same video with a korean standard Soltero, please. Same Amp, same settings etc. By.

  • Hi, what amp have you used wuith the soltero? Thanks

  • Hello--We're using the Headstrong Prima 30 Watt amp in this demo. You can see our demo of the Prima elsewhere on this YouTube channel.

  • Japanese guitars=cool.

    Nice 'Stones cover!

  • how much are you guys listing the USA soltero standards and sl's at?

  • Fat Tone has SL's at $2099 and we have a USA in Cherry Burst for $3059 but we are always open to offers.

    Fat Tone Guitars

  • telle me what you guys would want:dean soltero...or gibson les paul?

  • depends if you want like a classic rock sound go with les paul if you want something heavier go with the soltero

  • u posted this 7 months now so might not matter now...if ur talking about the soltero standard i would go with the les paul if i had the money...but i haven played anything else on the soltero line so i wouldn want to just talk out my ass

  • Fat Tone Guitars in Chicago will be carrying the $600 Korean Solteros as well as the $1200 new Made in USA MHG Solteros. Check them out.

  • How soon for the MHG's!?

  • Probably 1 month from now.

  • i want a black one with emgs

  • Hey, I sound pretty good considering I hadn't played for at least a week before doing this, and I had no set plan for what I was gonna play....!

  • Niiiiice.

i want a fuckin soltero, but there only 29485729485792845 dollars.. lol

  • they just came out with $600 versions same exact thing man.

  • Not quite the same thing...

  • meh just qualoty and the fretboard is different. i kinda exaggerated a bit, tho.

  • there are a few differences.

the import has a dean v neck all the way down. the sl has a v neck that goes progressive as you move up the neck to a soft c around the 12th fret..

also the imports have kinda wierd strap locks built in flush. downside is if you dont like em, theres no removing them. the sl has standard buttons. the import does a huge maple cap just like the sl. although the wood quality isnt anywhere near the sl. hope that helps clear things up.

  • hahaha thats just what it takes to get the standard on layaway
