The wife and I love scuba diving/snorkeling. We are a planning a trip Dec. of 2012. We would like to snorkel/scuba right off the beach at the resort. We would only consider a 4 or 5 star resort. Which resort would you recommend in the Mayan Riviera?

Things happen, all you need for dying is being alive...and I am very happy I've tried diving , a unique experience...

I am going Snorkeling Nov 29 down there... I live in Tampa Bay Madeira Beach but we do NOT have the same SEA LIFE.... great beaches but you need to go south for better snorkeling... can't wait thanks for the video on Youtube.

maya riviera is excellent was there in the begining of this month i will be going back it's exactly how you describe it just stunning place to be :) i recorded the landing at cancun and uploaded it great views :)

I went to the Mayan Riviera this February off of Puerto Morellos! :) So much fun! 2nd biggest reef in the world! Amazing!

I will be going to the Riviera Maya in August. I will be staying at the Grand Occidental Xcaret. How far is this reef from the resort? Also if anyone can add, are there any other beaches close to the GOR resort? Thanks

You guys are very Welcome to Mexico. We've gorgeous resorts such as CAncun in the Mayan Riviera. I'm a student in Iowa, USA. Someday, I will go to Cancun, COzumel, and the whole Mayan Riviera. Those places are quite safe and you can see the amazing biodiversity as well. Live Mexico! Welcome! I've told my Host Family about Cozumel. They're gonna go in July 2010...
