Gun shots are not like a paintball hit, they tear off skin and muscle tissue on both the entry and exit holes. The bones can also get hit or broken up, spreading the damage, pain and bleeding, more than the natural painkillers released by the body can sustain.

The massive bleeding leads to a sense of cold, difficult breathing due to the blood entering the airways, and finally heart attack, all of this with intense body pain.

I agree, they had no plan..two guys were across the street doing God knows what... they did not move in a proper fire-team showing piss-poor tactical squad training. If they had maintained squad cohesion, they probably could have busted through any attack or seperated into two man fire-teams to do bounding overwatch while others provided suppressive fire. These guys looked more like hired thugs nailed by insurgents with real tactical experience who had them caught in a crossfire & surrounded.
