  • i dont care, no drummer is better than this guy here

  • GUILHERME SANTANA THE BEST!!!!!

  • i now have to re-think drumming. i thought i was good now i know i am nowhere near good. this video just made me want to better my playing i a large way. if anyone has any other vids that would benefit me please suggest some to me

  • How come in every drum video I see, someone mentions Joey Jordison?

I mean, what is the fucking deal!?

And for all you people saying that Joey sucks and all that shit, he doesen't, but still his skills aren't exactly great, but sure he can drum. And the other way around, for you people who say that tony is better than joey, thats fine that you think that but what does that have to do with anything!?

Tony is better than joey, no matter what you say. but that doesen't mean joey sucks!!!!

  • the drum roll at 2:09 is epic

  • joey jordison can't touch royster

  • @iTzdsdangles Who fucking cares?

  • Tony is using straight technique

    C. Bailey

  • Penis

  • apparently he looked at footage of himself, and HE himself thought it was sped up

  • Amazing drummer, but is he playing music?

  • @santioga Aaaaaaargghhh!!!! That type of comment is becoming the ENEMY of music. It used to be directed at those who only played riffs or scales with no taste or precision. (And rightly so!) Lately it´s being used left right and center by people who have nothing to say but want to give off the impression of deep thought. There are a lot of tasteless broiler prodigy "virtuoso" musicians on the web. Please don´t compare Tony to them. This is the real deal.

  • The music he's playing along with near the end, is that his own band? Does it have a name and cd's or something? Because the music is quite interesting to me.

  • those drums sound amazing

  • i have the greatest appreciation for this guy... he is so much more musical then most drummers

  • Rippin it, wish there was a tab for this. Some of the parts get a little crazy even for an experienced drummer like myself. Wonderfully solid and fast single kicks.

  • daamn those are some nice drum sets mines kinda look alike but mines aree like bluesh and when he starts to play salsa it sounds really good

    keep it up - j

  • fucking nice set

  • 2:09 The Fill He Puts in just after There Is Just an amazing Sound :)

  • self-explanitory!!!Tony is the best

  • que mall qeu toojjlkkkaaaA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BTW love that salsa thing he does at around 1:50-ish...It sounds really good, I'm latino and it really impressed me he could play that...

  • Is he using bass drum triggers?? It really sounds like it...

  • Most people just put a pillow in the bass.

  • wats dat in front of the bass drum? nd wat does it do?

  • its a bassdrum woofer idk what ti exactly does. i think it makes it like more boomy sounding, not sure

  • ya its woofer and microphone too ! it give a pretty beautiful bass drum sound

  • What's the name of the band?? how can i find that song?

  • The band is ASAP i believe and the song is Rekindled

  • i wish my bass drum sounded that nice.

    He's trully an amazing drummer

  • what kind of shoes is he wearing? asics?

  • you don´t need to decide they are both fantastic :)

  • cant decide whos better him or thomas pridgen

  • i think he is

  • i love the sound of his bass

  • I love that guy !

  • sorry tony, not really feeling the beats, chart, or really even the kit. he can play tasty stuff... this sounds like him, 5 years ago. in my opinion, of course.

  • TO:madmax875 but first...Finalllyyyy the windego has come back to...the tube

    do i smell..hater...

standing in this corner the non-hater who can't spell the WINDEGO!!!!!

and in the other that max guy any way...

Don't talk about people who u can't touch on the set, make a video and do better than Tony and talk to me later cuz i don't see u doin it.

Yes CHeck and mate, and i don play chess so hahaha

    Windego123 is going, going, gone!!!!

  • maybe in the future, you could spend your comment making a point instead of hyping yourself up for who knows what

  • i still dont see the point in comparing tony with jordison. jordison is metal drummer tony is more of an r&b, jazz, latin drummer. why compare two different styles. tony is beast. so is jordison, but in their own right. plus jordison isnt the only great metal drummer. there are so many others great drummers out there

  • I totally agree it is an unfair analogy. I mean for my money musically as in the ability to play his instrument in absolutly any way he sees fit. tony is the winner hands down. But joey is a multiplatnum song writer and an impeccable player so its just apples and oranges.

  • I would class Abe Cunningham as a great metal drummer

  • what is with comparing jordison to every drummer out there?

theres a zillion fucking metal bands. so sick of hearing about the guy.

  • Jordison got nothing on tony, fucking nothing. period, anyone could play like jordison.

  • you cant say that dude jordison is just used as a comparrison becuase he is part of a pretty popular band like. He has got some decent speed specially in his feet. Though royster was better than him at the age of 12 lol

  • "Hey joey jordison is better!"

    "no there's no comparison"

"hey you sir are a fanny"

"no i'll kick your ass, you dick"

    "omg kids stfu"

LOL you lot are lame, now stop! and listen to Tony royster's epic drum skill!!!

  • @hebronsawyers any1 who says joey jordison is better than tony royster jr is a complete fool, i think tony could is easily pass as one of the greatest drummers or all time tbh

  • he is a beast a dog whateva you wanna call him he is just so dmn good so dmn good

  • some one knows where i can finde bass tabs of this song?

  • I dont know what makes this guy so special but he just is!

  • It sounds like ive just won a race on Gran Turismo 4

  • lol true

  • HAHA those EMAD2 are unmistakable!

Don't know what the heck happened with the tuning on those toms...

    Tony Rocks..

  • I can never find the right pitch in Evans heads..

Which is a shame because the EMAD2s are fucking amazing.

  • emads make the worste kick sound good.

but if you can tune your drums well nothing beats clear powerstroke 3 w smooth white powerstroke 3 front.

    mmmmmm.....

  • Remo is my favorite.

    Weatherking Powerstrokes :3

  • that's dope! it looks like he's having a lot of fun too.

  • his bass tuning is so sexy

  • TONY IS TOO FAST FOR HIS OWN GOOD

  • who are the session guys he is with?

  • is this a dvd, i want to buy it!!!

  • it is

  • wow

  • Tony is a beast his licks are crazy

  • robot

  • Haha, i love how people think that drummers are supposed to have been around a certain time. Ive heard it a lot, and what i think, a drummer is a drummer. People still like all genres of music. And this is my opinion, every drummer will be good, no matter what. The three things you need to become a good drummer; Confidence, a Dream, and Practice. Thats it.

  • Those three things will definitely help any drummer max out their potential, but I'm a firm believer that drummers like Tony are born, not made. His solo at 12 shows ability many drummers never could hope to achieve in their whole career. It's just like a great athlete. They have a certain god given talent that separates them from the pack. If practice was all it took there would be a lot more drummers like this in the world. Not trying to be a bummer, just realistic.

  • LOOAAAAAAADS OF PRATICE =P seriously gettin that good this dude must've spent YEARS practicin n practicin non stop! i swear i'm surprised his hands haven't fallen off!

  • waht the hell is he????!!!!

  • A MACHINE.

  • If you pause at 1:34, you can really see what I am talking about.

  • see what

  • Tony what drumming gym do you go to?

  • man those bass drums!!!!

  • If you look real close, you may see that he is using drum woofer's on each bass drum. These are removable additions to the drums that provide a deep, amplified sound.

  • dude i'm not blind

  • Great fuckin' drummer!

Btw, who the fuck gives a shit if he's wearing asics wrestling shoes? LMFAO ^^

  • a lot of us drummer have specific shoes we like to drum in. for me it's good ol' chuck taylors. you just cant beat the flexibility or chucks for that awesome feel on the pedals. it's about the closest thing you can get to playing without shoes.

  • i agree with him i mean i cant drum with shoes on

i drum barefoot or with socks its whatever you're comfy with

  • yeah, i actually use slippers! I took some cheapos from payless and use those! you can get real close to them pedals, but not too close like socks. It all depends on what kind of a feel you want with your feet.

  • it looks like hes in fast forward

  • his chops are absolutely amazing

  • those hi hats sound relllyyyyy good, anybody know what they are?

  • some sort of Zildjians, a customs are the go to hats for many

  • sounds like when the band kicks in it should be in gran turismo

  • it does!!

  • nice, i heard that is a good dvd...is he wearing asics wrestling shoes?

  • Here's a prodigy who made something of himself. He's one of the better drummers out there.

  • You have no idea about drumming, do you? Idiot.

  • personal opinion man, been playin for almost 10 years now, and no i'm not even close his kind of skill, i just expected more i guess, yes it's amazing, but i still think he could have handled something like this when he was 12, like i said personal opinion

  • If a professional pianist who's been playing since a child decides that after he brings down a concert hall from breaking one of the piano strings during a recital wants to play jazz music, does that make him/her any less of a great musician? I don't understand people's jumping on Tony for this vid when he has many more on here that shows he is WAY above the standards out here claiming to be as good or better than him (not saying you). But oh well...for Tony it's another day..lol

  • i totally admit that comment was a bit hasty, and of course he's gotten better, just not as much as i thought i guess, but it's refining the small details that really make the difference, and that definately shows, super tight drummer and he's one of my faves

  • I'm not necessarily replying to you per say, but others read and I wanted to get a point across. I saw what you said earlier and I agree with you. but when you do a dvd, it's hard to showcase everything you know to have people see your talents. So no disagreements there.

  • The obvious thing working against Tony is that insane solo he did when he was 12. That might be the best drumming ever caught on tape by a kid that age. Where do you go from there. Even if you get better, which he has, it's never going to be enough for the doubters. He's only 24, still a baby by drumming career standards. I sincerely doubt you've seen all his videos here. He's such a beast it's almost beyond comprehension for the average decent drummer.

  • Maybe thats true for you, but you dont even have to be a decent drummer to appreciate his ability :)

  • do you have a clue as to what you are talking about?

  • mother fucker!!!

tony u are the best man!!

  • is the end of his solo part an actual song??? cause its dope!!! TONY U FRIKIN OWN MAN!!!

  • Yo Yo NIce NIce Tony you are the BEST Man

  • to settle the score here color has nothing to do with it. i've found that what music you start off with as a drummer becomes more of your strong point. look at Dave wechl and Dennis Chambers both funk drummers and both are amazing. its all about how technical you get when you drum.

  • exactly...that's what i was trying to get dickhead cjk to realize.

  • 1:50 is by far the best part

  • Why are they all black?

  • why not?

  • thats a dumb question.

  • You're dumb. Thats a legitimate question. Imagine if he had Micheal Angelo Batio (White). It would be amazing.

  • Sure whatever... but does color really determine anything about talent?

  • No, clearly not, as he does drums amazingly.

Though it technically can, as blacks have more of a rhythm feel to them due to evolution, while whites tend to be amazing @ classical.

    Though obviously there are exceptions.

  • wait, so why did you then ask why are they all black?... did you just want other people feed back? cause i thought you were just being stupid about it...

  • Its rhetoric, and that obviously went way over your head as you still lack the competence to comprehend that.

Now go call me a racist or something, so I can go back to listening to Burzum and Darkthrone that I made some prepubescent child over the internet tantrum all over his keyboard.

  • (responding to your MAB comment)... now think about it. would the music then be based around the drummer.... NO!!! I really wasn't going to comment back, but, as you made it clear that you honestly know nothing of rhetoric and have such little brain power, the only reason you talk of M.A.B. is because of YOUR musical incompetence, immaturity and your inability to comprehend anything other than SHIT. So fuck off.

  • Babbling over spilled milk doesnt make you look any less stupid.

Also, the only thing I made clear is how your dad should have aborted you from his anus before he shit you unto this planet. My musical talent is a behemoth alone compared to the Schleroid Brain disorder you possess.

Go back to crying over an internet post, and leave the debate for the men, pussy.

  • I'd be careful who you are taunting, because last time I checked, people with small minds and complete irrelevance shouldn't be crying over spilled milk on the internet. If you can't take a debate like a man, and have to resort to swearing, please go slit your carotid artery.

In fact, do the world a favor, and go back up your dad's anus, your birthplace before he shit you unto this earth.

I won't flame your musical knowledge, because there would be nothing to put beneath my feet.

  • Why did it double post?

  • SHH!

  • We have truly stepped on the mountain on really bad responses here. I accept your defeat.

  • fair enough...lol

  • Lol you defused that good...

  • well i realized what you were doing and it seemed extremely immature so i decided to take the 'manly" way out of it. which is to ignore an asshole when one is encountered.

  • You refuse and reloaded.

Don't make me put my jackboots in your face, again.

  • Again SHH!...

  • AGAIN SH!!!!1111one

What do you expect to accomplish by saying pointless posts?

Looks like you have a problem with me putting my heels into the back of your head into the ground below me.

Don't worry, it only hurts for a moment.

  • Well i guess you can get strapping?!?! Pointless posts, huh. now think back to your first post. "Why are they all black?" need i say more. Oh and why you're doing so.

  • SHH!! does not remind me of strapping, it reminds me of a kid going "shh!" like he's been beaten.

In fact, that really makes you look dumb, as you rebuttal with nothingness.

Even if my post did contain pointless parts, at least it wasnt a fetal abortion like yours were.

  • i dont know :S but why many afroamericans play jazz and funk and blues and white people rock (not rock' n' roll because old rock' n' roll is pretty blues i think) and metal. hip hop is different thing that i dont like. this guy is great drummer still

  • his music sounds like shit...but good drumming

  • yeh it does. All its there for is to add structure for the drumming. Otherwise he would just be a soloist, which I really wouldn't mind at all, actually.

  • search "dale con el choco"

  • Incredible. Amazing. This song sounds like a mix between a porno and Mario Kart haha, sorry that sounds ignorant, Royster is wonderful, and the band are incredibly tight, despite the ridiulous fills and poly rythms, fuckin lovely. Nice post

  • SIMPLY THE BEST!!!

  • crazy! This guy is like Ronaldinho, Muhamad Ali, Michael Jordan, Gretsky, Bruce Lee or Federer...a top notch example of the highest level performance a human being can reach in a physical activity.

  • nice traditional style at beginning haha

his bass foot is mad fast too =O

  • this guy is nuts, every drummer out there has something to learn from him just watch 2:07 to the end, can you do that?

  • tony es un hijuemadre baterista es demasiado bueno el loco

  • i love his music... royster is my hero

  • Neil Peart and Buddy Rich still got this kid though.

  • im only 15 now and i can play like that now

  • Bull shit

  • Well, what are you posting on youtube then instead of showing it and being famous because of it. Liar liar pants on fire.

  • its actually beleivable.

  • your a fucking liar tony has been playing since he was 3 and in that video hes like 19 eat shit

  • Check out my channel for tons of drums solos.

  • BEAST! he has 2 bass kicks!

  • aaa so what??

  • 2 is amazing appreciate music thats tony royster...

  • tony is such a beast on the drums

  • puta madre!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • pretty badass drumming, kinda sucks he's wasting it on that type of music tho. kinda like pairing steve vai with a lounge singer. don't make a lotta sense, but i guess if that's what he wants to play then fuck it right

  • when the song came in at i\1:35, that was ooosoooooo tight!!!!!!!!!!

  • Not as tight as the part at 1:47 : D wow

  • actually tony is not 18 he is in his twentys but still

the best drummer i ever herd

  • hes been playing for 15 years and hes 18...so he pure talent..and btw hes using a hard top snare and it sounds great ...u must be retarted..

  • umm i think his snare sounds great.. dont know what ur smokin'

  • Enjoyable....Just plain good stuff.

  • I'd like to tener the canción entera... xD

  • naw doc that's just good tuning

  • what a freak

  • his snare sounds like ass rest sounds great!!!!! amazing drum solo

  • he snare sounds amazing

  • I love the sound of his bass drum, and also for most of the beggining solo he is only using one foot on the bass drum.

  • hes using the single foot slide technique. If you want a thourough demonstration, search SpikeyDrummer on youtube, and look at all his videos for a video called the "Single Foot Slide Technique". As for his bassdrum, its triggered.

  • i dont think his bass is triggered ... he is using the bass drum woofer .. which has that sound to it

  • i know that hes using the woofer, but when he hits his toms, he has a triggered sound, and same goes to his bassdrum. thats my understanding though.

  • not sure if im understanding you right .. but you can plainly see the drum mics on his toms

  • What's funny is he seems to have the same face now as he did at age 12. I guess that is a good thing for some.

  • HE'sSIK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u dont get worse u get better

  • he is the most precise drummer i have ever heard, he doesnt miss a beat, and he is one of the best!

  • everybody wants him in a band , he gets like 1230 request per day

  • its not that hes better when he was twelve its jus that his solos a long time ago were aswome and he has to think of new ones lol

  • u guys are very ignorant to talk neg.about someone with so much talent.wut are u doing with ur life nothing.

  • that roll thing he does at :57 is so shitty sounding

  • and you might want to try a bass drum in front of the first bass drum because it muffles the sound to give off a strong sound like that

  • can somone please tell me how can i get a bass drum sound like that.... ive been also noticing that almost evry metal band has their bass drum tuned that way.. if anyone knows... please tell me. thanks

  • just put two pillows in it...... plus there bass drums are microphoned

  • hey has bass drum woofers, idk how much they cost, but thats how he gets that sound

  • yes mate. although it went a bit 'super mario' at the end. man i wish i could do that.

  • Tony is pretty ridiculous, love these newer videos.

  • Nobody should ever mention Travis Barker's name In a a Tony Royster Jr. video.

  • Love it. Tony Royster jr. is the sh^t.
