I got my MM hunter, he seems to do the same amount of damage in the clip above. Not that my hunter ever got to BT, but he did do SSC, TK, ZA and Kara. Pretty sweet to see a hunter do some insane crits though. So if its true about that boss giving u extra damage in phase 2, then its nothing to boast about.

Anyway love seeing hunter clips.. keep it up.

As of Wotlk Patch 3.02, the Expose Weakness Buff Nolonger Effects the target, however unlike any other spec, they gain another instant cast shot that factored in can increase there dps by 200 against a solo target at 70. against mroe then one mob this effect can increse the Dps By even more

AGAIN survival hunters is about making your teamates dps with expose weakness, the more agaility you have the more attack power they get, the bonus crit chance helpes keep expose weakenss up 100% of the time, surival hunters also try and help cc mobs when needed, they are not as good as mages when it comes to raw dps or cc's but they can max your tanks and rogues and other melee classes dps, as much agail as possable is needed to help out in raids

Survival isnt about topping dps, if that's what you want, go BM... Survival, is all about Agility and Expose Weakness.. Dont spec Survival if you dont have 600 agi unbuffed. I know people say 550, but it doesnt work. Flame me if you think im full of shite ;)

Yeh, Expose Weakness is an awesome buff, depending on agility, melee get 25% of your agi as atk pwr, but i still manage to pull off 900-1000 DPS each raid as survival.. Dravan, i play on thunderhorn.

At extremely high raiding levels, survival is generally better, because: 1. There is alot of raid damage (like in sunwell), and healers tend to overlook pets. 2. The expose weakness buff is better than inspiration, because it scales with AP. 3. You get so much agility from sunwell gear that the 15% agility bonus is much better than it is at lower gear levels.

Survival is a tree that has no easy mode button, and can be used much more effectively than BM ever can be.

I forgot to add in, on Expose weakness, It increases melee's damage, which is better, because melee's dps scales much better with gear. Rogues and warriors catch WAY up with casters in dps in sunwell.

i raid at high levels, its only good to have 1 in the raid. they are usually around 6-7 on dps when BM hunters like myself are 1-2. fight dependent. Brutallus, Twins, KJ, and Kalecgos. Muru and felmyst not so much.

I downloaded the UI from your link and its different from what I see, is there anything Im doing wrong? (theres an empty space where the minimap is in the vid, not all of the health bars are there, different unit frames etc.)

ur not doing anything wrong, but the UI does require some custimization on your part. the mini map can be re-scaled and dragged to fit into where its suposed to go. the health bars can be changed by CTRL clicking them (might be alt), u can move them in the same manner.

Mate.. I've just respecced survival, I absolutely LOVE it, but it isnt the best dps spec as a hunter.

a BM hunter (should there be one in the raid - which there should be two) should always be above you on the meter.

yea i know about the gems i need the relentless one and two green gems and rest agi i knew that, my gems are like that because i was just bm and i had just recieved the star strider boots so i put in 6 agi gems to use b/c the delicate living rubies were way overpriced in ah. lol, well as far as my UI goes, theres a link in the more info tab of the video to my exact UI with install instructions. u can also move stuff around to make it ur own too. as for the macro, i dont use anthing other then ur normal 1:1 steady auto macro, but i manually weave in multi / auto depending on how much haste i have on me at the time / what kinda haste gear im using.

o, and as for a tip, dont wry about it, i have a lil under 9k gold, and im retired now too :)

It seems everywhere I read online and ingame it's that BM completely nerfs Surv in dps yet since I surpassed 900 unbuffed agil (now at 930) I have been out dps everyone in every raid group I have done so far. well, i wont say tooo much cause i dont wanna spam this too bad lol. your crit is decent for your gear level, i would focus on agi. that being said, swap ur bladefists for an hourglass, your 20AP meta for the 12 agi one, and the gems in your boots made me shed a tear lol. other then that, ur specs not SOOO out there. i like mine because it works with my shot rotation and high crit rate, but hey thats just me.

you are so very wrong. BM is good up to about early Hyjal / BT when due to the high mobility nature of the fights, Survival can do way more in most cases. also, with T6 gear you get the agi u need to pull off survival.

I've played mm bm, and jsut went survial! I personally like the fact i don't have to rely solely on my pet. When I was bm it was like shit my pets dead(if this did occure) my dps is going to suck. Survial It's all me mainly!

If you manage to keep your pet alive, then you can top the meter. Also the swiftness in BM tress is the best you can get as a hunter.

But i gotta agree, keeping the pet alive is a hard work. But ones Wotlk comes, BM should be the best as you can instantly rez pet every 10min.

Yes hunters can dps just fine, and I've seen survival hunters outdps me(smoby - burning steppes EU) in some fights. Survival hunters bring a dps boost to the entire raid that's not to be ignored and a bit more CC(ie Illidan p4 fight). So for those flaiming surv hunters l2p. They are a great addition to the raid, just as enhancement shamans are!

in phase two, any damage you do to the boss is reflected back to you, causing huuuuuuggggeeee pushback (that includes pet dmg). hits hunters bad because your 1.5 sec steady turns into 3-4 second cast lol.

it depends on your raid makeup. if you run a very physical dps heavy group (5 melle + about 3 hunters) by going survival you will be increasing the raids overall dps. your basically giving the AP increase aprox the same as a bloodlust brooch when its used, increasing dps per person by about 300. however, your GM / CL must realise that survival will be LESS damage then BM until very much later in the instances.

well, so far it does very well in BT, because every fight is very hunter friendly. However, some fights are specifically BAD for BM hunters (compared to surv) because your pet gets owned, illidari Council and Illidan for example. basically, overall, it depends on the fight, but surv is easily capable of keeping up with BM, but not until the about 800ish (min) unbuffed agi

For just straight up dps, BM wins, no matter what content your in BM will always be higher dps, My hunter is only in Kara gear and I can put out 1.2k dps on some fight using the 41/20/0 spec and the 1:1 shot rotation.
