One of my best friends is an xMorman. He left at age 30. He is now 33 and is the happiest He's ever been. No more depression, no more blatant contradictions, no more dogma. @greglee87 - I grew up LDS. I come from a long genealogy of LDS family. I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I served a mission to Honduras for 2 years, faithfully. I even went to BYU for a semester. Then after all of that when I left the church and started to search for what I had been missing in the LDS church tons of members started to say it must be because I had sinned and wanted to justify it. I will be the first to admit my faults, but that has literally nothing to do with why I left.
@greglee87 - I left because I don't believe in the history of the church, the story of apostasy of Christ's church, the need for a restoration, the Prophecies of the LDS leaders, among many other reasons of doctrinal origin. And yet in the end all Mormons do is sit around judging others and assuming the only reason for someone to leave the church is sin. I am more Christian now then I ever have been in my entire life. I have helped a few of my friends who are in the church and continue to sin.

That isn't true, plenty of people leave because they do not believe in the church's story. And many of them move on to be active members of other churches and live good lives. That was my point.

I have another friend in the Latter Day Saint church who has a son that is 12 years old and he has not been baptized yet either. He says he is not ready. He is not pressured.

The contra-positive, however, of a true statement is always true, ie: if a religion does have paid ministry, they must be incorrect. Also, you forget to get your facts straight. Both men were prophets of god of the LDS church. Also, Joseph Smith never slept with any of the extra women that he was sealed with. He only had one woman that he considered his wife, she was named Emma Hale. (not to mention she also was a big part of the church) All the other women wanted to be sealed to him because of his likeliness and other spiritual and logical features.

you have obviously never been to utah valley. It is filled with beautiful girls. And BYU (a college run by the mormon church in utah) was ranked 2nd in the nation for colleges with the most attractive co-eds (after arizona state, I think. which also has quite a few mormons in it).

One of my best friends is an xMorman. He left at age 30. He is now 33 and is the happiest He's ever been. No more depression, no more blatant contradictions, no more dogma. @greglee87 - I grew up LDS. I come from a long genealogy of LDS family. I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I served a mission to Honduras for 2 years, faithfully. I even went to BYU for a semester. Then after all of that when I left the church and started to search for what I had been missing in the LDS church tons of members started to say it must be because I had sinned and wanted to justify it. I will be the first to admit my faults, but that has literally nothing to do with why I left.

@greglee87 - I left because I don't believe in the history of the church, the story of apostasy of Christ's church, the need for a restoration, the Prophecies of the LDS leaders, among many other reasons of doctrinal origin. And yet in the end all Mormons do is sit around judging others and assuming the only reason for someone to leave the church is sin. I am more Christian now then I ever have been in my entire life. I have helped a few of my friends who are in the church and continue to sin.

I have another friend in the Latter Day Saint church who has a son that is 12 years old and he has not been baptized yet either. He says he is not ready. He is not pressured.

The contra-positive, however, of a true statement is always true, ie: if a religion does have paid ministry, they must be incorrect. The LDS church is far from a cult...if you believe something else you've been brainwashed or somehow extremely biased (probably a born-again-christian).

yes it did sweetheart. until 1978 black males could not be ordained as priests. brigham young said black skin was the curse of ham, and black servitude continued in heaven.
tithing and the mission might be "optional" but it's just convenient that the more money, time, and power you hand over to the church, the more likely it is you'll make it to heaven.
and how convenient that the church uses that money to build strip malls in salt lake city! i'm sure that's not important.

and just so you know, you can't insult somebody by simply stating the truth. that's a fact about two men that did more to build the LDS church than anybody else, one of whom was supposedly a prophet of god. life can't be so simple when you're sleeping with over 30 or over 50 women.

Also, you forget to get your facts straight. Both men were prophets of god of the LDS church. Also, Joseph Smith never slept with any of the extra women that he was sealed with. He only had one woman that he considered his wife, she was named Emma Hale. (not to mention she also was a big part of the church) All the other women wanted to be sealed to him because of his likeliness and other spiritual and logical features.

I suppose it's a sign of Christ in the church, because didn't he say: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." OR "But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." and many more just like it. He does this all the time. eg The betrayal of Christ was bad, but necessary for the Atonement to even happen.

Not being raised in any religion I could be wrong but Lucifer was an angel right & the angels were all created before man and woman. Lucifer became jealous because god loved his new creation better. This makes angels and man two different creatures and not siblings at all. I am not trying to anger anyone I really want an answer. How do you get from that to Lucifer and man as brothers. you have obviously never been to utah valley. It is filled with beautiful girls. And BYU (a college run by the mormon church in utah) was ranked 2nd in the nation for colleges with the most attractive co-eds (after arizona state, I think. which also has quite a few mormons in it).
