I added a separate battery pack inside the guitar so the LED's wouldn't drain the power from the actual controller. I'd rather be able to keep playing than watch a light show, haha.
I doubt it. There's way too much crap inside the neck, it took forever to get it back together without pinching wires. And it wasn't that easy. Took me over 11 hours if I remember correctly.
@MotoX3style well a regular gh3 guitar there is only 5wires in a long strip the tiny circut bored nd the plastic buttons and reubber blue flap but yours theres like 20 or 30 wires
Yeah, I used a dremel. I actually used 1/4" acrylic rod for the jewels. The LED's are behind them. I just wanted it to glow, I didn't want the LED's to project a lot of light. Plus it makes the light 1/4" wide instead of just 3mm. Not only that, but I wanted the light to come from the same spot regardless which color you have it set as, and I didn't want two LED's sticking out either. I wanted it to look clean. Thanks for the compliment :-)
yeah true, but i always wonderd when Red Octane is going to release a guitar pedal or something similar for the pointless port and its even on the newer guitars
i see there is no batteries, and that your close to a phone jack, something tells me your using the power from the phone jack from your wall to the pointless jack into the guitar? ;)
No. At the time of this video, I just added an internal battery holder with 2 AA batteries since I wasn't completely done with mods and was planning to open it up again and replace them with NiMH batteries that charge via USB. Ever since I got Rock Band though, I don't play GH3 anymore, so I just connected the power for the LED's to the main guitar batteries instead of the internal AA holder. I just use rechargeable batteries instead. It's always been 100% wireless.
wow that was a statement not need charlieplaysguitar22. Tons of people can buy xbox mods and some make xbox mods. Somebody might have made this and he just bought it. Don't be such a jerk.
