Вот вам и предвзятость. Не мытьём так катаньем. Это всегда так было. 5.7. - это конечно что-то. Месть за Бабилонию и Гарднера - трусов, которые даже на старт не вышли.
The number doesn't matter-it's where that particular judge has the pair on the score card. And the American Judge was marking low that night but he still had them in 1st place over the other competitors in both the SP and LP.I've seen Irina w/better leg positions on the death spiral but they were still first on every judges' card. There was also some controversy in the LP @ Sasha lifting her by the leg-which depending on your interpretation-may or may not be against the rules of the ISU@the time.
@bemar1972 No judge historically, has set a lower base mark than Britain or Switzerland. By the way...Do you happen to remember the 2 year suspension in 1977 and 1978 of all the judges from Russia for such blatant, egregious favoritism towards their skaters in spite of their obvious errors. They finally got their collective asses kicked by the ISU and suspended.Cleaned up their act some, not much though.
@LovelySouthStar I now the story - for Sonia Bianchetti the reason was the our soviet judge Valentin Piseev marks 6.0 for Rodnina/Zaitsev, the rest of judges artistic impression marks was 5.9. So 6.0 and 5.9 - "incredible", "enormous" difference 0.1 point, yes? Remember also all nine first places, including 1st place of Piseev and where is the "blatant, egregious favoritism"?
@bemar1972 Dude I don't know which competition you're talking about but Rodnina/Zaitsev were 1st on all 9 judges cards@THE 1980 OLYMPICS but they did NOT RECEIVE 6.0's during the OLYMPICS.This, btw is from a Canadian station broadcasting-not a station from " those horrible Americans," LOL.What an A** ! Get your facts...and your compettions straight! Insofar as the suspension, it was called for as the cheating had become so blatant& obvious. THere IS an enormous difference between a 5.9 and 6.0
@LovelySouthStar But if you don't know which competition I'm talking about - don't tell about the story. It was 1977 Worlds and Rodnina and Zaitsev for technical merit was 5.8-5.9, and for artistic impression all 5.9 and one 6.0 from soviet judge Valentin Piseev. All judges ordinals - 1st places! And.. that 6.0 from Piseev was significated as "blatant, egregious favoritism" and was the reason to cheating all soviet judges. And not for 2 years, but only for one season 1977/78/
@bemar1972 I'm not a dude...DUDE! The Russians found out they could win in pairs and ice-dancing without cheating.... they were that good. YOU need to read your freaking " REAL HISTORY!" They were suspended for two years. How long have YOU been skating and involved in the Sport? And I don't need you or anyone else to tell ME @ telling stories. Give it up with your uninformed, idiotic, lectures! Imbecile!
@LovelySouthStar YOU open your eyes and read it here, if you can read.
Look at Wikipedia 1979 World Figure Skating Championships (and also 1977-1978) you can find only ONE championship - 1978 without soviet judges. In 1977 1979 and all other years soviet judges was included! And open your eyes, really :)
@bemar1972 You want to make it personal i.e., my reading ability? We'll get to that. Just because it is on the Internet or the World Wide Web, doesn't make it correct or factual. Wikipedia even solicits money so I would not rely on them to tell the time of day. Insofar as ' " open your eyes, really," ' you can should shut that mouth of yours and FUCK OFF !!
@bemar1972 And you're getting information from a closed society eraThe Russians realized they didn't have to cheat to win.I have nothing but the greatest respect for Rodnina/her two partners but I think YOU are the one who needs to look at other sources than Pravda and be more open minded to newly discovered information. 74 years of communism/socialism didn't work. There are SO many other publications that got it right that the Russian people weren't even aware of during those years.
