A Good question "not" a dumb question at all!!!,,,,,There are many different species of sharks and some are bottom feeders and there are others that are mid to top water feeders and some of those shark have and will hit large spoons and other artificial lures,,,,,Makos,,threshers,,blue sharks are just some that will hit lures!!!
@SharkMan650 hey man, is that rod your usins a good all round rod? i know you live in the us and i lvie in the UK. but I'm looking for a good allr ound strong rod thats all. reply would be great, love the videos by the way, good quality and view :)
"Yes" I use this rod for thresher sharks to smaller species of shark in the S.F. Bay and also rays,,,,,It a good all around rod FOR THE PRICE,,,it only cost around $30.00 U.S.,,,,,,,The rod is an 11 ft. Daiwa BEEFSTICK,,,,,,"Owe and thanks for the thumbs up on my videos",,,,,,,,"peace always"...
Hey I was wondering if you can catch me one and i send a air pump and a tote for you to hold it for me like 24 hours or so then i come up to pick it up. i was looking for a small one and was going to add it to my collection to my shark pond.
I'm sorry bro "but" to many people ask me to do that and even offer me money all the time and I still say no to "everybody",,, it's just "not" something that I want to do,,,,But right now the brown smooth hounds are not biting to much,,,,The best time of year to catch them is in April and May then after that there only caught once in a while,,,In anycase you can check with me from time to time and if there here I'll let you know so you can come and catch them for your pond,,,,"Peace Always"...
beesstt bait to ever use.... squid. i saw ur other vid on the leopard shark one and i caught one just like it off of sausalito. he was about 7 pounds - 3 feet long. Nice size man.
Thanks Man for the "thumbs up",,,,,And it sounds like you also had some fun catching a 3 footer yourself,,,,,In a few months there going to be commonly around 4 to 5 ft. long,,,,September & October is when the big ones really come in the bay,,,,"take care"...
@SharkMan650 Sure thing! Thanks for the heads up on the larger ones! I'm only 14 but ive been fishing for about 4 years now. It looked to me if you were using a sinker slide rig? I tried that the other day but unfortunately had no luck. I usually go with the high low rig. By the way...the bat ray video. theres a huge one around my area that keeps breaking my line, so i changed it. once i catch it, do you have any tips on handling so i dont get stung?
"Hey there",,,,,The rig I'm using on this video is a sturgeon leader that I made myself and I have the sliding weight on my line,,,,,Now concerning the ray that you hooked that broke your line,,,,,the best advice I have for you since it's happen to you more the once is you should use power pro braided line,,,,I would get it in 100 lbs. test,,,,,"pretty sure" if you do that the next big one won't get away!!! "Best Regards"...
"Owe",,,,,Concerning the barb on it's tail,,,,,Just handle the ray carefully and hold it more towards it's head,,,(the two holes behind the eyes is a good spot to hold them at),,,,,Just to be safe until your more comfortable handling rays,,,,"take care"...
@SharkMan650 Hey I was wondering if you can mabey tell me where like what street you normally catch this shark at and what time of day and what type of tide u recemend and bait
Well Brown Smooth Hound Sharks are very common "every where" in the bay,,,,The best tide to fish for them is (low tide) right when it's starting to come in,,,and for bait use squid,,,,,,,"Peace Always"...
@SharkMan650 Hey also does it matter what time of the year i no in the summer is the best time but can you go during christmas time to catch the small ones or what and i was wondering if i were to send u an airpump and a small tote can you hold one small brown smoothhound and then i come up to pick it up and ill pay you i have a large shark pond.
Hey since I live In southern California and I have a large tank for just smoothhound sharks and I have a gray smoothhound I would like to wander if you can mabey catch one and then i can drive up to San Francisco to pick it up. If so whats the price for a Brown Smoothhound shark.
Hey there my friend,,,,I can't do that for a few reasons,,,,One being it's illegal for me to catch and sale any sharks that I catch without a permit,,,,,The other reason is even if I caught you one just to give to you for free I don't have the tank,,pumps or "anything" to keep it alive,,,,,so for those reasons I must decline,,,,,Sorry! "Take care"...
"Hey thanks bro for the thumbs up on my videos",,,,,And the biggest shark that I ever caught was around 8 ft.,,,,,,But recently last June I caught some pretty decent "Thresher Sharks" some "over" 6 ft. and one that was almost 7 1/2 ft.,,,,,I have a few videos of some thresher sharks around 6 ft. and under on You Tube right now that I caught and I still have another one that I'm going to post in the near future,,,I'm glad you like my vid's and thanks again,,,,"Best Regards"...
@SharkMan650 Hey i have a tank and would like a gray or brown small smoothhound shark if you can mabey make a deal with me on selling one for a hundred i live in southern california and could mabey have you ship me one
"Hey whats up bro",,,,,I checked with Fish & Game "before" concerning your question because someone else asked me the same question before,,,And Fish & Game told me that I can't sell or even send any live sharks in the mail without a permit,,,,And for that reason I can't do it,,,,"sorry bro"...
@SharkMan650 Hey i live in southern California and have a large aquarium with sharks and rays in it and I was wondering if you could get me a small juvenile brown smoothhound that is 12 inches and under. If so what would be the price for one and I could probably just drive to San franscico and meet you there for it. Nick
Also If any one lives in southern California and can get me a small brown smoothhound email me at nickmuscarella@ymail.com
hey i really love your videos i want to get started on shrak fishing or even striper, do you have any tips, location, bait? anything? lol and again awesome videos!!!
Hey there,,,"Thanks for the compliment on my videos",,,""Right on"",,,,Also for shark & Ray fishing I make my own 3 ft. cable leaders,,,And I also use a slider on my line with a 6 oz weight,,,For bait I use "Squid",,"Sardines",,"Mackerel" mainly,,,And a good place to go fishing is Point San Bruno or you can just find a spot along the shore just like I do,,,Sharks & Rays are all over in the bay,,,Have fun fishing when you go and I wish you "Best Of Luck"... "Best Regards"...
Well I move around a lot when I fish in the Bay,,,,,I mainly fish from Point Candlestick to San Mateo,,,,I just look for spots along the shore or rocks that nobody else is fishing...
I am a freshwater fisherman and this may seem really dumb, but can you fish for shark with artificials like spoons, spinners, jigs, and crankbaits?
