I am a freshwater fisherman and this may seem really dumb, but can you fish for shark with artificials like spoons, spinners, jigs, and crankbaits?

A Good question "not" a dumb question at all!!!,,,,,There are many different species of sharks and some are bottom feeders and there are others that are mid to top water feeders and some of those shark have and will hit large spoons and other artificial lures,,,,,Makos,,threshers,,bl­ue sharks are just some that will hit lures!!!

I'm sorry bro "but" to many people ask me to do that and even offer me money all the time and I still say no to "everybody",,, it's just "not" something that I want to do,,,,But right now the brown smooth hounds are not biting to much,,,,The best time of year to catch them is in April and May then after that there only caught once in a while,,,In anycase you can check with me from time to time and if there here I'll let you know so you can come and catch them for your pond,,,,"Peace Always"...

beesstt bait to ever use.... squid. i saw ur other vid on the leopard shark one and i caught one just like it off of sausalito. he was about 7 pounds - 3 feet long. Nice size man.

@SharkMan650 Sure thing! Thanks for the heads up on the larger ones! I'm only 14 but ive been fishing for about 4 years now. It looked to me if you were using a sinker slide rig? I tried that the other day but unfortunately had no luck. I usually go with the high low rig. By the way...the bat ray video. theres a huge one around my area that keeps breaking my line, so i changed it. once i catch it, do you have any tips on handling so i dont get stung?

Well Brown Smooth Hound Sharks are very common "every where" in the bay,,,,The best tide to fish for them is (low tide) right when it's starting to come in,,,and for bait use squid,,,,,,,"Peace Always"...

Hey there my friend,,,,I can't do that for a few reasons,,,,One being it's illegal for me to catch and sale any sharks that I catch without a permit,,,,,The other reason is even if I caught you one just to give to you for free I don't have the tank,,pumps or "anything" to keep it alive,,,,,so for those reasons I must decline,,,,,Sorry! Hey there,,,"Thanks for the compliment on my videos",,,""Right on"",,,,Also for shark & Ray fishing I make my own 3 ft. cable leaders,,,And I also use a slider on my line with a 6 oz weight,,,For bait I use "Squid",,"Sardines",,"Mackerel­" mainly,,,And a good place to go fishing is Point San Bruno or you can just find a spot along the shore just like I do,,,Sharks & Rays are all over in the bay,,,Have fun fishing when you go and I wish you "Best Of Luck"... Well I move around a lot when I fish in the Bay,,,,,I mainly fish from Point Candlestick to San Mateo,,,,I just look for spots along the shore or rocks that nobody else is fishing...
