Jesus is awaiting on you all, folks.Jesus is the only person that will save us all. We can hear George sing to Krishna, but don't forget it may be the name of Christ hidden in it. ..
And as a practicing Catholic, the last lyric..."And while the Pope owns 51% of General Motors, and the stock exchange is the only thing he's qualified to quote us."...is one of my all time favorite lyrics, although I would disagree in the case of the beloved John Paul II,he was a magnificent Pope!
The Lord has as many names as he has had incarnations. Ultimately God is beyond comprehension or name. All we can do is hoist our sail of faith and pray the wind of His grace catches it.
Its certainly pretty.... but what gets me, is that this a song that points to Jesus, not Krishna. But some people are still smoking from the bong, I guess.
@duchessofpercy It does NOT point to Jesus. George was not Christian. The point he was making is that faith isn't about "religion" per se, or about going to church/temple or material things. It's about opening your heart and mind - he uses Jesus just as a relatable example to make a larger point. George has been quoted that he respects ALL belief systems and doesn't choose on over the other (although his main interest was Hinduism). READ ABOUT GEORGE, PEOPLE. EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE YOU POST!
@rennlaur Clearly, the ol duchess can only hear that the name Jesus was said so obviously this song is about how Christianity is the only faith, right? I hope that my sarcastic point has been made as this song is about the beauty of believe, believe in anything bigger than yourself be it Krishna,Jesus,or dare I say Mohammad. So don't read into one lyric so much,I think would be the point.
@rennlaur Nice comment! Tha's my interpretation too! It's more like "well, seeing Jesus? Is it what you want to reach interior peace and be happy? You can have it when you open up your heart".
