I've beat these little cute oil consuming Spec V's with a Honda. It was an 04 RSX-S same k20 powerplant as this Civic. At the time we had the same mods and it was at a track and to let u know I was at 260 lbs while the guy was maybe 180. And he didn't suck at driving his POS. Spec V's can be taken out by HONDA'S no questions ask'd. The only way u little bitches would be un-catchable would be if the Honda was stock and you pussy's swap that like Qr25 for VQ swap. Average fully bolted k pro rsx runs high 13s to low 14s.QR25 has come far ways in R&D. Besides the new specvs are equal as fast as the rsx stock for stock. Theres also the sqr23 destroked 9500 rev option. and yes i have a video link if u want it. when it comes to it... its how much mods u put in a car.

Idk what the outcome would be. Last Spec V i raced (the one in the vid) we both had i/e. I had K&N Sri with Skunk2 70mm exh. He had and still has Nismo intake with Magnaflow exh with resonator delete (super raspy). I got him from a dig until we let up (couple cars). Rite now i have the same I/E Skunk2 MP race header, Boomba Racing solid mounts and a few other mods. Im getting EM1 CMC and NST pullies soon.

There's no doubt that the Mugen Si is the better car here. By better, I don't mean faster, but I mean in quality. The SpecV was made by a bunch of Mexicans slapped together from an econobox, and an Altima. Oddly enough it all sort of works, but it has it's downside.
With all that in mind, I guess that's where the extra 10k comes from in the Mugen. If you did get those extra bolt on's, I'd have no chance.

The Spec V i raced smokes regular 06+ Sis by bus lengths. lol

@fifafan1 Shitty continental tires, horrible spring rates (bad weight transfer), and shitty motor mounts are the reason for the slightly slower 1/4 mile time, and 0-60 time. Rectify those things with half decent street tires, springs, and motor mounts... say bye bye to the Si. Those few things really help get the power to the ground with zero power adders.
How many people out there are running the tires that came on the car? Nobody. Power for power, the SpecV has significantly more potential.

@4G63PWR Hey 4G63PWR and fifafan1. Stock for stock a Spec V will take an Si off the line and about 1/10 of a sec or more in the 1/4. But after the 1/4 mile the Si is gone. And 4G63PWR u r right, it does help the Spec V a lot by changing thoes crappy ass stock continentals, the stock springs suck ballz, the car rocks backwards on launch and between shifts. And solid/filled mounts is is a must. The Spec V stock has so much tq it has crazy wheel-hop. A couple 10ths in the 1/4.

I have to say something is fishy here. Either there is dishonesty on that statement that the Si driver is shifting at red line and that he even gets into vtec. No dohc Honda with vtec on exhaust and intake will be that quiet going into vtec with an intake alone much less intake and exhaust.

The car is MUCH louder in person. I think the reason for it sounding so tame is that my exhaust drowns it out so much. Plus this video was taken on a point and shoot cannon still camera, so the microphone might not have been up to the job.
The driver of the Civic owns a 400+ hp SRT-4, so I'm sure he can drive an Si.
@Metalhead852 A) He doesn't own that car. B) We both started off in second gear. How hard is it to stomp on the gas when you're already in gear? There aren't even any gear changes in the equation. Bottom line is my car out hauled the Si by a long shot.
@4G63PWR All I can tell you is if you live anywhere near northern Ohio that I would be happy to do a friendly run with you seeing as how our cars both have the same mods and if you like I will reflash my car back to stock. The spec V is a great car but 170HP is the standard 10 years ago and my only argument is that the driver in the Si didn't know what he was doing. A STOCK Si can get 14.7 in the quarter and a 6.5 seconds to 60mph with a good driver.
@Metalhead852 The same can be said with the SpecV. In stock form and stock tires the best time I think ever recorded was a 14.8. With better street tires a 14.7 is better. The factory Continentals suck. The same can be said for 0-60. I got a 6.8 without banging gears, and without launching.
I think you're underestimating the torque of the Spec. 185 crank stock, and mine has 197torque to the wheels. That's considerable. Especially since my car is lighter.

stock si's have what 130tq lets round it up to 140 for intake/exhaust.... vs a sentra that's dynyo'd at 190tq iirc
The funny thing is while I was driving the SI I felt like I could have taken a nap while I waited for the rpms to climb.... i maxed that bitch out, lol...

I have to say something is fishy here. Either there is dishonesty on that statement that the Si driver is shifting at red line and that he even gets into vtec. No dohc Honda with vtec on exhaust and intake will be that quiet going into vtec with an intake alone much less intake and exhaust.

@fleemos We ran three times, with myself winning each of them.
The car is MUCH louder in person. I think the reason for it sounding so tame is that my exhaust drowns it out so much. Plus this video was taken on a point and shoot cannon still camera, so the microphone might not have been up to the job.
The driver of the Civic owns a 400+ hp SRT-4, so I'm sure he can drive an Si.

@4G63PWR All I can tell you is if you live anywhere near northern Ohio that I would be happy to do a friendly run with you seeing as how our cars both have the same mods and if you like I will reflash my car back to stock. The spec V is a great car but 170HP is the standard 10 years ago and my only argument is that the driver in the Si didn't know what he was doing. A STOCK Si can get 14.7 in the quarter and a 6.5 seconds to 60mph with a good driver.

@Metalhead852 The same can be said with the SpecV. In stock form and stock tires the best time I think ever recorded was a 14.8. With better street tires a 14.7 is better. The factory Continentals suck. The same can be said for 0-60. I got a 6.8 without banging gears, and without launching.
I think you're underestimating the torque of the Spec. 185 crank stock, and mine has 197torque to the wheels. That's considerable. Especially since my car is lighter.
