crazy thing, is 35 perecent of the kids on cu teams that year were from colorado or a near by state. Now a days they say there no talent here so they moved to the pack ten to get better athletes. Cu and nebraska both were at their strongest when they had a strong core if local boys. Dont get me wrong there alot more to pick from in cali and florida and texas, but they bleed just like we do here in the co

Even to this day I am still mad at Simms. So much was riding on this game and he literally threw the game away. When you lose by 2 points (39-37) despite Simms' 4 interceptions and lost fumble, you can't help but think Texas was still the better team. Chris Brown was a nightmare as well.

@94jg ....Would have, could have, should have. In the END, COLORADO was on TOP. So that day, COLORADO was the better team. None of this, Texas , was the better team. We got the RING that day.

@bamador Agreed, and I'm not pro-Texas nor pro-Colorado. But the object of the game is to have more points than the other team when the clock reads 0:00. The team that achieves that is the better team on that given day. Arguments like those of 94jg are speculative at best and frankly, this game is 9 years old in any event...he really needs to get over it.

Oh and not to mention we still hold the 47 game win streak, not only that but our first bad season in forever still got us to an 8-5 season with a win in a BOWL GAME, what happened to texas? oh yeah a losing season with EVERYONE leaving. texas=completely overrated.

Did you see their game against Iowa State? Colorado has a good team, it's just very young. You can see with the turnovers, the poor play in the second half.

If Colorado can shape up, we can make a run, try and make a bowl, but at the very least, let's take down the huskers.

I'm a Texas fan and I HATE Chris Simms. He's one of the most overrated quarterbacks ever and could never win big games when he needed to. He sucked in college and he sucks now in the NFL. He'll never be like his dad and will always choke under pressure. Mack Brown should have went with Major Applewhite, then we could of had a chance to play for the national championship.

I'm no Texas fan, but I always thought the same thing too. Major Applewhite never failed the Longhorns, and it was strange to see Mack Brown buckle under the pressure and go with Simms. He cost Texas a title-game or two, no doubt. A Texas-Miami title game would've been awesome in '01.

I was at that game and never saw fans turn on a player the way UT fans turned on Simms. After that fourth interception I've never heard louder boos.

buffs fans are the best funny story here i live in okc went to watch my buffs in 07 playing the suckie sooner over rated wanna be a top 5 team,had my black and gold on had to sit by my sukie sooner former buddy crybaby fan.kept telling him its not over you know were king of comebacks laugh now keep it up youll cry later..guess what game over..had to watch a grown man cry all the way back home i just lmfao the whole way back to okc.xfriend now seen him 2 weeks later had a buff hat on..go buffs

Jasper - I was also there and CU sold out its allotment to that game. So there was at least 10,000 Buff fans there but it otherwise was a UT home game being in the state of Texas.

Can't wait til Darrell Scott gets to Boulder and starts giving us similar memories to Brown's accomplishments!.
