Anywho, basically, Jasmin is forced into a position in which she must become Ramses' wife, or suffer the fate of destitution, or worse. Though luxurious as it may be, the life is a lonely one. She one day meets Chel, one of Pharaoh's slaves/concubines. We Chel explains her title, Jasmin sees they are both prisoners. They become close friends, and after some time she begins to--

@spectre111 -- gain confidence and Bravery. One day Jasmin goes to Ramses and returns her ring to him saying she refuses to live under him, and would rather suffer on the streets. Ramses, aware of the meaning Chel has to Jasmin, he uses her as bait to lure Jasmin back to the palace. When she returns at his summon, she finds her dear friend being roughly handled, and tries to rescue her. Chel is unfortunately killed, and Ramses takes Jasmin once again, confined to her room, trapped.
