  • William Shatner in 8:00?.

  • crying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone know where that "Beautiful Music" is from?

  • @wlt777 : Alan Silvestri "Suite from Forrest Gump"

  • Beautiful vid. Thanx 4 posting. "Star Trek....Always & Forever!"

  • Austrian actress Bibi Besch (star trek II) is the first (and so far only) ST actor/actress to die around the anniversary of star trek, september 8.

  • @ashcarl116 died sept 7 1996 to add

  • This show always gave me hope for the future.

  • Everything about this is beautiful! What a wonderful tribute to those who have left a huge hole in the fabric of the universe. Thank you very much.

  • To the future! May it be better than our imagination.

  • hate to say it, but the pack is thinning out...reality sucks

  • Very nice, indeed. Brought a tear to my eye. So sad that these people are gone from us now, but they will always live on in our hearts.

  • Very nice.

  • you forgot to include "red shirt" guy

  • What happens to Star Trek when William Shatner or Leonard Nimoy die? Then, it will truly be gone. Hat saying that they wont last another 20 years.

  • Beautiful tribute...............If I could I would bring them back "but I cannae change the laws of science Captain"

  • a lovely tribute ,as spock would say they will all live long and prosper ,when we remember ,was for me my childhood i have every episode and a cut off captain kirk which remind's me off that time with my brothers wait till star trek came on and too boldy go in are dream's my deepest respect too all now and then beam me up STAR TREK!!!!

  • Didn't think it would make me cry but it did. I think the reason Star Trek continues to be such a big deal is because it's the future we want to believe in, as a film maker I know that media can inadvertently see into the future, I can only hope that our future will continue to include elements from the Star Trek Legacy and these people will always be a part of history in that way.

  • what are the names of the musics?

  • Love you all, especially Bones...Majel was an inspiration, Mr. Doohan, I salute you....Mark Lenard made a great Sarek...You will live long and prosper in our hearts and memories!

  • Majel hung out with us at The Experience all the way up until we closed, and then passed away shortly thereafter. A very sad day. Nice use of soundtrack music, a very appropriate video.

  • ACTOR NAMES

and different played character names should have been added to each frame :(

  • Very Touching, kinda gets a tear in your eye, these are the actors who gave star trek there all, and made it what it is today, may each and everyone one of them rest in peace in the big starship in the scott. As Lt. Tasha Yar said in TNG Hailing Frequencies Off Sir.

  • R.I.P. to those cast members. As two of them would of said: Jim I'm dead, and Jim I can't beam you up since I'm dead.

  • so sad.

    R.I.P.

  • Thank you for posting this!! Now an interesting story for all of you. I met James Doohan (Scotty) at a sci fi covention .. I was standing right next to him, as he was getting ready to sign autographs .. I reached out, and shook the mans hand, and expressed my love for Star Trek . I told him, That IMO .. The original series had so much more chemistry between the characters, then did TNG. He smiled wide, and said "I will not argue with that" Theres more to my story. But not enough room to fit it

  • oh Bones, i miss you.

  • i agrree -they are not ready dead as long as we remember them--is true..met,gene,majel and jimmy also mark--sadly not de.

  • Met them all (except Gene) at various Cons. Dee Kelley and Mark Lenard were 2 of my favorites, as they were down to earth and loved the fans. First star I met was Majel at a Superman/Sci-Fi Con .. still have her autograph in my Trek manual. Jimmy loved telling stories; and we loved to listen. Grew up watching TOS, and am very saddened at what JJ Abrams has done to my much loved show - 45 years of Trek canon out the window! Frak you Abrams & Paramount!

  • Beautiful video. I did wonder about the version of the Enterprise you used at the end, but perhaps it symbolises the passing of the baton.

  • just wanted to add something, I am touched by your all good comments, I was quite emotional when making this video at the time few great star trek personalties passed away and whole chapter made me really sad, m music choice reflects this nature and every time i listen to this track, it'll always remind me of star trek and great individuals that made things possible.

RIP heroes of Star Trek, never forgotten, always remembers, always in our hearts.

  • @simgadraco2005 I honestly came close to tears throughout this video. It is such a perfect tribute to those that have left us.

The makers of the latest movie have butchered Roddenberry's legacy. His vision has been hacked to pieces by people who shouldn't even be writing for Trek.

It will be a sad day indeed when the other cast members pass on; a very sad day.

  • @Cenobite1991 Very True @simgadraco2005...Very True. :(

  • Star Trek's legacy will last for a very long time. It's already been 50 years since TOS. Too bad so many people who were part of the final frontier died.

  • I think this all came about as serendipity. In days before, space tv show were considered cartoonish. This group of people gave brilliant and personal performances... even the behind the scene folks at Desi-Lu and the production made something unique. Compelling people that our culture needs, they will be missed as they are mourned.

  • I think you have a superb and very touching tribute - to all your detractors I will say this: YOU do better !

  • I didn't get into Star Trek until a couple of years ago. I just wish all these people could have lived longer. And it's true, when you think of how short life really is, it urges you make a difference while you can. Maybe someday, hopefully soon, the world will end up like star trek. something about Gene Roddenberry's vision changed everything.

  • someday we'll all go to the "Final Frontier". Until then, make a difference in THIS world........

  • Time goes, you say? Ah no!

    Alas, Time stays, we go.

    ~Henry Austin Dobson

  • So beautiful! Loved the music and when I think of Scotty and McCoy being gone, or should I say Mr. Doohan and Mr. Kelley, it makes me cry. They brought so much joy into my life and when I think of how short life is, it really puts things into perspective. May we all be with each other on the other side!!! Love E. :)

  • Beautiful video with beautiful music. Always makes me cry. It's really a shame that all these people are really gone forever. They were the ones that shaped the final frontier and made it real. Star Trek in general has changed the world. It gives people hope for the future. And all these people contributed to it and made it happen. I have to say, when I saw the TOS cast, I cried the most. It' so sad that everyone gets so old and that people die. RIP to the people who shaped the future. Love you.

  • Montalban died January 14, 2009

  • you need to make a new one to add Ricardo Montalban aka Kahn

  • re: teh image of the Enterprise around 8:20 -- where did you get that??

  • Jimmy Doohan died??? WHEN??? :-O

  • @godlydaddy July 20, 2005

  • I can not belive that i forgot to mention MARC LEONARD in my tribute, SORRY MARC. ricky

  • @rickynovosad Hey, you SHOWED Mark Lenard in the video. You still honored him!

  • i've had the great fotune of working with all of the ost cast {main} save two...MAJEL AND GENE, too bad for me but the time with the rest will always be treasured times for me! thanks JIMMY,LEONARD,NICHELLE,WALTER,BILL,DE,AND GERORGE,WHO WILL NEVER FORGET A CONVERSATION AND WISH TO CONTINUE OR FINISH IT EVEN IF IT YEARS LATER. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE COSMIC MEMORIES !!!!!! "may peace be with you" ALL and of course "LIVE LONG AND PROSPER" ricky

  • farewell...you all will be missed

  • Thank you for a wonderful tribute to those who made man's final frontier seem so real.

  • They Forgot Jane Wyatt, who played Spock's Mother, but then I don,t know when she passed away.

  • Sorry, regarding Ricardo absence, I didn´t notice the post date.

  • A nice tribute,they've been our guides,our friends,our family.

Thanks to Gene Rodenberry and the rest, our quality of life has been and will continue to be improved because of that unrelenting, bold vision. That having been said,I think another good tribute song to use would be from the Broadway musical WICKED. The title of the song is "For Good". Thanks for sharing this tribute.May you Live Long and Prosper.

  • Very good, but unforgiven Ricardo Montalban absence, among others

  • @luizcabrera09 Well, considering this video was posted in 2008 and Ricardo passed away in 2009...

  • Such a beautiful tribute.

  • I was taken aback at seeing Majel Barrett, not aware she had passed away. Looking up the date of her death, I now understand "how" I missed this somewhat major milestone in my life ... both my mother and mother-in-law passed away in the 2 months before Ms. Barrett's (Mrs. Roddenberry's) death - and hence was not "in touch" with what was really going on in the rest of the world with all the heartache in my own private one. What great sadness to discover this as I head to the 45th ST Con...

  • I recall waking up early, on Sunday mornings, hours before my parents, for a double feature, of a then cancelled show that literally sprang back to life. Seeing those original episodes, for the very first time, was like Christmas every weekend,

The music is perfect. The substitution of the "The Inner Light" theme or even the inclusion of the bagpipes from Star Trek II, would not significantly improve what is already a wonderful collection of both memories & previously unseen glimpses. Thanks.

  • It's like losing a Beatle all over agian......

  • Good Analogy, James Doohan/ Mr. Scott has Gone to the Big Transporter Room in the Sky. Mark Lenard, who played Vulcan Master Sarek, who was Mr. Spock's Father on the Original Series and early movies, stepped backward and onto my right foot at the only Star Trek Convention I ever went to. He lost his Balance and stumbled. With a Broken Wrist in a Cast, I reached down quickly and steadied him. I grabbed him with one hand and held my other forearm againt him to keep him from falling. He looked up.

  • wow what a great Tribute

  • @ahnbra: Sarek was played by Mark Lenard, a fine actor who also played a Romulan in the first season of Star Trek.

  • Comment removed

  • Next time please enclude the peoples names. I do not remeber the actors name who played Spoks father Sarek. Otherwise very nicely done. I would have used different music also but this was good. Thanks for making this and posting it. May they all REST IN PEACE!

  • Should have played the theme from "The Inner Light" would have fit much better!

  • @cfauteux i'll use that tune for another star trek video i plan to do.

  • @simgadraco2005 what music did u use?

  • 3 people never new Star Trek

  • Star Trek changed the way we live today. Take a look at the original series and think about the devices we have today that weren't even on the market then...hand-held communicators, desk-top computers, color-coordinated control panels, visual monitors, so many things. I'm a Trekkie (sorry NOT a Trekker) from the original series. Scientists from NASA watched Star Trek. Peace and Long Life to you all!

  • I was ok until I saw Scotty. Pass the tissues.

  • What can you say about a group of people who played the heroes of your childhood and took part in modern mythology. Well thank you for the performance...

  • We can now add William Campbell to the list. RIP Captain Koloth.

  • @BrianC1965 Oh no! Didn't know that.

  • These people were such a big part of life life and still seem so real to me. I watched Star Trek Since I was a kid, I learned so much and the characters became my mythological heroes and the series a great teacher. I wish they would give us more of the Stories. The series meant so much to me.

  • Very nice job! It's amazing how successful you were in linking the pageantry of the Forrest Gump soundtrack to the lagacy of Star Trek! It's a real tear-jerker.

  • *sigh* i guess to me its just such a shame all these years later.

after loosing these brilliantly tallanted n gifted souls that are these actors i i i mean even like James Doohan and Deforest Kellys it just touches me so much that these legends are no longer alive :( so all i can say is kudos to those that made star trek what it truely is today n paved the way for fan films such as New Voyages n Phase2. but mainly to Gene Rodenberry n his beutiful wife for starting it all.

  • RIP Gene Roddenberry, Majel Barrett, James Doohan and especially DeForest Kelley.

Hats off and best wishes to the rest :)

  • Thank you for posting this. I've loved Star Trek my whole life and every time I hear about the death of one of them it hurts.

  • Wow, that was so beautiful.

*cries...sobs... ... ... is silent for the memory of these wonderful people*

  • Too bad no still with Merrit Butrick(Kirk's son)..........

  • Thank you...The spirit of these people will be passed on from generations to generations. These are some of the people that made Star Trek what it is. May they all rest in peace and for where ever they go after, let them go boldly where no one has gone before. And Live Long and Prosper for those who are still with us. Though I do know that you all have prospered.

  • Thank you. Made me cry.

  • Star trek TOG actors where legends McCoy, Scotty RIP

  • You know even though they are gone now, they will never be forgotten as long as there are STAR TREK fans around!!! Very nice tribute to all of them!!

  • Great tribute video to great people, well done. Love the music.

  • I am struck by how wonderful Mark Leonard looked no matter how old he got. What a great face.

  • Wow, I didn't know that Brock Peters passed away! He did a lot of character roles but his role of Tom Robinson on "To Kill a Mockingbird" is unforgettable.

  • i think of all the people, i miss Mark Leonard the most

  • RIP Scotty gone to the big Transporter in the sky one....to beam up

  • When I was a kid, there were only THREE things that I wanted to be....A citizen of the foundation,Dr Who.....or the Captain of a Federation Starship !. Thx for putting this up .

  • u should have used a score from Jerry Goldsmith the greatest composer

  • excellent, thankyou.

  • That was very nice. Well done.

  • TO mbaily619: THE PLANE IS ACTUALLY THE FIRST SPACE SHUTTLE 'ENTERPRISE' WHICH NEVER LAUNCHED INTO SPACE BUT WAS USED FOR LANDING TESTS ETC.

    TO simgadraco2005: BEAUTIFUL!

  • I didn't see Michael Pillar anywhere and sadly he passed from cancer and he was a MASSIVE contribution to the star Trek Universe and I think he helped uphold the ideals of Gene Roddenberry.

  • The last pic of the cast in front of the plane was amazing. I'm going to my first convention in Aug in Vegas. So excited!

  • I specially like the picture with all the original characters(both of them, DeForrest Kelley and James Doohan. I think that this was a good reminder to those out there who are fans of the show and movies to keep the legacy of those who started Star Trek alive and shining bright.(Hope that the last part made some sense).

    :-)

  • @neytiripandora92 yep. the 10 bells tolling thing, but bathed in silence...

  • I kept it together until I saw DeForest. That picture of the entire TOS cast made me bawl my eyes out.

  • Beautiful!...tears man, thankyou!

  • The Giants have left the playground. Godspeed my friends.

  • Very , Very good work! Some of the brightest stars of our childhood, men and women who have touched our lives. May the rest in Peace.

  • It was very nice - but I didn't see Jane Wyatt in there. Very touching :)

  • Thank you for this..... I echo a lot of comments on here when I say it brought a lot of memories back.

The world seems somewhat darker without them

  • simgadraco2005: YOU DID A BEAUTIFUL JOB. Congrualations from europe, I grew up with Star Trek & Gene Roddenbery & all the actors, now it's FINISHED. I dreamed a dream!!. Star trek was and IS the inner Humen his DREAM, and that's what people miss a lot today, sadly :-((; Let's all become back like children & HAVE A DREAM. thx again for this beautiful editing: A++

  • And the dream lives on...with new actors, producers, writers, directors...new physicists, doctors, astronauts...but the dream lives on.

  • A great tribute to Star Trek.Live long and prosper.

  • R.I.P Scotty may where ever you are now be better then the place you left

  • They're not really dead, as long as we remember them.

  • Deforest Kelly always seemed to me like the kind of guy that could be any child's grandfather. He just had that kind of presence about him.

  • I loved the music that went alone with the pictures, thanks for sharing!

  • This particular song is moving....

  • Also like I posted in another tribute, any tribute in honor of those Trek cast members sadly who are no longer with us is very moving....thanks for posting...for it brings up a lot of memories....

  • GREAT pic in front of the shuttle!

    Nice tribute. Nice music!

  • my fellow trekkies do not think of these beloved actors as dead for they are not. one only dies when one no longer makes or leaves impressions in life. as i read these posts i can see that they left impressions on all of us and thus live on in our hearts and minds. so with that being said i will say to you all live long and prosper.

  • Oh god as soon as that music came on I was bawling my eyes out. I believe the actress who played Amanda Grayson passed away as well.

  • Good tribute! But, the showing of the pictures was too long and there could have been more pictures of those that we have lost!

  • Also, I find it strange that I didn't tear up when Scotty or McCoy came up... But when Chapel/Number One was showed, I literally felt by heart clench... Maybe it was because she was a nurse, and such a sympathetic character, and the VOICE of Star Trek... I don't know.

  • It makes me so depressed to think that all of these people are departed, and that the remaining, like Nimoy, Shatner and Nichols (and others) seem so elderly...

  • Very moving. I really liked the ending music, celebrating their lives. Thank you

  • R.I.L

  • RIP Bones and Scotty you will be missed

  • And the voyages continue....

    Thanks for the beautiful video.

  • Amen to that. Amen.

  • I grew up with these people...you dont realize how many are gone until you see something like this. Very well done.

  • very well done very soothing(spell check?) music.

although i must admit i'm not the emotional type when i saw both bones and scotty come on screen i shed a tear for them both...i miss them so much...R.I.P!!!

  • Star trek ftw...

  • Beam us up, Scotty!

  • @MsOliviaGarden ....yeah. There's no intelligent life down here.....

  • its is often said its not what you do in life but what you leave behind that matters most...did you make a better or worse why you where here..

  • It takes alot for me to become upset, let alone to provoke some emotional response out of me, but seeing DeForest with his blue eyes, sparkling with his humble humanity and passion, looking dead on to the camera with the music playing, tears welled up in my eyes. I even whispered "De" and touched the screen when his image came up.

Thank you for doing this humbling and moving video about not only for my favioute actor (Mr.Kelley) but to all who have passed on from the Trek lore.

  • @Bartman954 I felt the same way also about DeForest Kelly and James Doohan. What a beautifully done tribute and the music was perfect.

  • Really a great video, very moving and well done.

  • These were and are people who bring hope for humanity. Those who show the ideals of mankind.

Though I am far away, I grow with these guys and they teach me a lot about life and how to live.

I owe them and I miss them. May they rest in peace

  • There is only one place to Start !

    Thanks Gene

    R.I.P

  • Damn, this video actually had me in tears.

  • You would think that after 45 years of being a fan, I wouldn't be so surprised at how much the show and the actors mean to me.

Very nice video and terrific selection for music. Very moving.

  • very good tribute to those stars who gave so much to so many, and still do.

Very good musical score to the images as well.

  • thank you everybody :)

  • Comment removed

  • @simgadraco2005 this video is very moving.at 2:17 when Suite from Forrest Gump comes on and shots of Majel Barrett-Roddenberry and DeForrest Kelly appears.

  • It is so sad to see our heros slip away. Iv been a follower of star trek since i can remember back in the 80's when TNG started I think.

I love everyone of them, and every time we loose a member of the cast its like loosing part of the family.

But they will always been in my heart, and my memories.

All these people, alive, and dead will always be part of my life.

  • Remember this though. DeForest Kelley once said: No one is really dead as long as we remember them.

  • i remember that it was about spock in the second movie. am i correct?

  • Yeah. It's from the Wrath of Khan.

  • oh my gosh!! MJ just died!!(nothing to do with star trek i know!!) but just imagin what will happen when William Shatner dies!!!!the world will go to friken hell!!!

  • Oh, like that's ALL that would happen.

I swear, the Earth will come apart at the seams. His funeral will be broadcasted in some Star trek language. Probably Klingon. O.O

And his death will become a National Holiday for Trekkies.

  • I already decided that I will simply not believe it

  • Well done! Great video!!

  • tell me about the soundtrack what is it?

  • The soundtrack is the opening music from Forrest Gump

  • On my favourite list? I think so!!!!

  • I remember the day when James Doohan died. I felt like crying when I heard the news. RIP Scotty.

  • very nice well done what happened to peris khambata.

    simon

  • sorry, didn't know she died :( what a sad loss. Same goes for Jerry Goldsmith, when I found out, news made me really sad...

  • She died of a heart attack.

  • @spmcghee she died of a massive heart attack in the early 90s if i remember correctly.

  • @spmcghee im sorry, 1998.

  • What's up with the Forrest Gump score? This is Star Trek.

  • its a sad but uplifting piece of music, very appropriate for this video. I do hope you like the vid :)

  • Beautiful tribute..well done!

  • A brilliant tribute to Star Trek cast and guests who boldly went where no one had gone before.

Let us also not forget the following where the original series is concerned:

Ricardo Montalban: Khan in "Space Seed" and STAR TREK II

John Colicos: Kor in "Errand of Mercy" and three episodes of DS9

Jane Wyatt: Amanda Grayson in "Journey to Babel" and STAR TREK IV.

  • thank you very much, tried my best :)

  • Thanks for the reply.

I could not post this earlier, but for anyone's info, the three DS9 episodes that John Colicos reprising his role as Kor are "Blood Oath" which also features Koloth and Kang; "The Sword of Kahless"; and "Once More Unto the Breach".

Of course, Colicos is also remembered as the evil Baltar from the original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (1979).

  • thanx for telling me this, I watched the original BSG series, and I do remember him quite well, also I watched The Sword of Kahless, (DS9) just the other day, thanx for sharing this...

  • @agdavid67 they also forgot the kid who played david and his mother from the wrath of kahn, they are also deceased...

  • @DickDaggeronthetube I Believe you are referring to Merritt Butrick originally from Square Pegs, and later in an episode of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION; and Bibi Besch, who played Dr. Carol Marcus.

  • @agdavid67 Also Merritt Buttrick, who played Kirk's son in Star Trek II and III.
