How can this mushroom be antifungal?  Aren't all mushrooms fungi? Not trying to be contrary, just want to learn. After finding out that mushrooms are fungi, I stopped eating them. I've read that most chronic sinusitis is actually a fungal infection. I can't imagine breathing the spores of mushrooms, much less using them in an enema! Seems like the colon would be a great place for a fungus to thrive. Okay, please shoot my statements full of holes. Hope I'm wrong, I want to learn. Thanks.

Any doctor will tell you - DO NOT freeze water in a plastic bottle, and DO NOT drink water from a plastic bottle that has been heated up (left in the sun) because harmfull components from the plastic can leach out into the water.

Plus, everything TASTES BETTER from a glass bottle, beer, pop, or water.

@hanserclimbs I think that what he is trying to say is that because the bottle is made of glass as opposed to plastic, you would be more careful with it so that the bottle doesn't break. He is not trying to say that the bottle itself is sacred, but you really knew that...didn't you?

i dont know the life cycle of it.  but when i found it there were 2 large nodules, and 2 small. i left the smaller nodules. I did not make it back to check on them. if anyone knows the life cycle of chaga, let me know. does it grow within a season, or many years?

I went out and found one. I looked at about 40 trees before I discovered a chunk of it. It does look like charcoal and I found it on a yellow birch tree! Tomorrow I'm gonna go chisel a couple chunks off of the tree and then leave the rest so the chaga can replenish.

I just would like to point out some danger in over-harvesting of any wild edible.

However, most people who watch this are eco-friendly anyway and will practice safe harvesting.

I grew up with this delightful fungus :) Never used it internally, though.
