  • Hi Rick. I've been watching your videos and review. Great job, keep it going! I want to ask you about Crosman 2260... I would like to get a non springer .22 and I am looking to get one. I found it in stock in a shop and it seems like a good value deal. I have a Diana 34 and a Crosman P38 CO2 pistol. Would the 2260 be good for taking down small game (rabbits etc.) and in what range? If 2260 is a no go, what other CO2 single shot bolt action can you suggest? Thanks and keep up the good job.

  • @Blokatos

The 2260 is a nice gun, but under powered. Consider the Discovery. You can run it on co2 or high pressure air. On co2 it will still be a little underpowered, but better than the 2260 stock (I believe). Now you can boost the power of you 2260 with aftermarket modifications. You'd have to search google for those options.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • Where can I get the 1760 barrel? cuz I want to put it on my 1377...

  • @Dude458F1

    Talk to Crosman directly.

    Rick

  • can i use crosman hollowpoint 4.5mm weight 7.9g?

  • @MrMaadskillz

    you can..

    Rick

  • Should i get this one, or Crosman 1077?

I more for bolt action, but i'm not the biggest fan of these smal, wooden snipers, but i would deal with it. What do you think? Please, answer!

  • @TheRedSickle

This is much, much better than the 1077..

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb thanks, man!

  • I know nothing about this gun, but am about to buy one, i waited for you to show how to load it, is it a repeater, oneshot? you concentrated far to much on the shooting and targeting i think, so now i am still oblivious....:(

  • @MrKeys57

    Single shot.. bolt action

    rick

  • @airgunweb if u finished shooting and u fired 10 shots do you need to take the co2 bulb out when it is still half full? or do you have to let it in even when its not empty?

    thank you

  • @HeliLuuk

I would stick to what the manual says for this gun. I don't have it anymore so I really can't say.

    Rick

  • Also... Kinda random, but an airgun in .22 or .25 with 20+ FPE is sufficient to kill a,man. Tested on a cow skull my grandma had used for soup.. Lol

  • I was reading your comments about home invasions. I live in Texas and my neighbors house was broken into. It was night and the home owners were asleep. They heard the invasion and grabbed a 357 magnum and shot and killed the invader. They had every single right to do so.

  • It sounds like they used the same rear sight (or something very similar) as the one on the 760. On the $30 760, it's understandable (though mine was bent to the right out of the box and it took me a couple of days to figure that out and some very careful twisting, with pliers, to straighten it out). On a $180 gun, that's inexcusable, IMO.

  • Is this air rifle good for home defense?

  • @BlazerT10

No.. Airguns are not good for home defense.. They don't produce the energy necessary to do the job.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb well I was looking for a weapon were if I fire it would injure the intruder and not kill him/her.

  • @BlazerT10

Please don't take offense.. but your thinking is flawed. IF you have an intruder and you shoot them with a bb or pellet gun, you will most likely be antagonizing them further putting you and your family in danger. If you are looking to truly defend yourself, and you have the legal means to do so, get an appropriate firearm and training on how to use it. A good example would be the Taurus Judge pistol.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb ok well thanks.

  • @AirGunWeb also well not trying to be a burden, but the pellet rifle I possess can be very powerful. I'm looking for a firearm that can cripple a man and not kill him. Because in the world we live in today I would be cuffed, and sent to prison. But I thank you for the firearm suggestion. I don't really know that much about bb/pellet rifle guns.

  • @BlazerT10

It is sad that a criminal breaking into our homes has more rights than we as homeowners due.. in some states anyway. South Carolina solved that issue.. they basically said that if a home invader was killed in the act, they would not detain, investigate, or prosecute the home owner.. amazingly home invasions all by stopped... Go figure...

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb maybe I should move there. I live in a quite peaceful town though, but a bunch of rich punks have been coming in recently, and I know they'll cause trouble.

  • @BlazerT10

What state do you live in?

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb Illinois

  • @BlazerT10

I'm not sure about any of the gun laws there.. you should get into a class of some sort and find out what your rights are. I was amazed to find out what my rights were in SC.

    Rick

  • Rick, what is your favorite air rifle in means of price/accuracy/quality, I want a rifle for target practice, i ordered the gamo big cat 1200, I'm going to have to make a lot of adjustments/upgrades over time for it, this is my first air rifle so i could use any advice you can give, please get back to me, thanks.

  • @medabeast1

my "all time" favorite gun is the Benjamin Marauder in .22 cal...

    Rick

  • @veilsideV12

I frankly don't remember at what distance I was shooting 10 or 15 yards I would guess.

    Rick

  • this is how the destroyer pellets work:the tip continues penetrating while the other part expands and sorry for my english

  • @MATANUI720

they can be ok.. all depends on the rifle. you want the most accurate pellet.

    Rick

  • was this your first video???? (at least about 177 cals???

  • @aerofores

    I might have been.

    Rick

  • can¨t the pellets get stuck in the barrel if the co2 little tank its empty?

  • @bigspeedwaylover

I never shot mine that low.. I've never had it happen, but anything is possible. If you are using really heavy pellets (not recommend) I could see how that may happen.

    Rick

  • How long can a CO2 powerlet stay inside the gun? Say if I opened a new one and shot a bit and decided that I was done, and left the powerlet in because I still had 20 shots left, will my gun be ruined if I left it in there for a day, maybe a week?

  • @brian80o

mixed opinions on this one.. some say you can others say you shouldn't.. I personally leave mine empty and start with a fresh co2 each session.. but that is just me.

    rick

  • why not reveiw multi pump air guns like the powerline 880? please respond

  • @peterpanfan95

wow.. I really missed your comment if it is 2 months old.. my bad. I plan to get to some of those as I can. They are viable airguns and fun to shoot... Why not review them!

    rick

  • what's your question or comment?

    Rick?

  • is this gun good for small game (squirrels, rabbits) if not would the 2260 se be better

    Thanks

  • it is under powered for those purposes.. most co2 rifles will be unless you are shooting at targets very close in... say 10 or 15 yards.

    Rick

  • let us know how it works out for you...

    Rick

  • I've got this gun and we can not get the scope to calibrate. Is there a way to manually adjust the mounting of the scope? This is our first high end gun so this is new to us.

  • this should be a VERY easy gun to setup.. if you can't get the scope on the paper.. then you may have bad rings, bad scope, or and this may be the most likely problem, the barrel band may be off and pointing the barrel in a weird direction.. Check the barrel band first.

    Rick

  • can you mount the qb78 oversized bolt and cheekpad on this gun.

  • not sure about that... most likely not.

    Rick

  • Thanx I recently found out about the bolt it will not fit but the cheekpad looked like it MIGHT im not sure, it says that it doesn't on the website but I compared both the stocks on the guns and it looks like it will,(they might just say that almost as a marketing technique) but who knows maybe it doesn't fit.

  • And also i have in fact used this gun for small game hunting. Especially squirells, birds and chipmunks all from about 25 yards with crosman premieres.

  • And if you were to leave a co2 cartridge in a gun for and elogated period of time 1 or 2 days would it ruin the gun itself?

  • nope.. should not hurt your gun.

    Rick

  • Is there a cetain tempature that co2 guns shoot better in?

  • yep.. over 70 and under 94 or so.. that is what I've found.

    Rick

  • hi, i live in bad neighborhood with alot of crime and my parents are anti gun people and i do believe in arming yourself for self defense but since i cant buy a real firearm, can this air rifle put people down ?

  • no.. airguns are not for self defense.. EVER. They don't have the force to accomplish any real damage, not like a real firearm.

    Rick

  • bfmg gargoyle rifle??.....

wouldn't like to stare down one of those barrels from the wrong side

  • I'm in the process of working that problem out. If you can get the RWS 34 Panther for around 200 that would be a very good option.. I'm trying to find another one for under $200.. It is on my "to do" list for 2010.

    Rick

  • very different guns.. what are you wanting to shoot.. if you plan to do ANY hunting/pest control, go with the Big Cat or the Whisper.. If you just want to shoot targets.. this is a great gun.

    Rick

  • have you used the 2260? i want a non-springer in .22 caliber for under $200 and was looking at the 2260

  • I had a 2260.. I prefer the QB78 Deluxe in .22 from Archer Airguns. (see my review).. Great gun.. make sure to get their "gold service" and insist on a seal upgrade (pay the extra.. it is worth it)

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • I don't have one anymore.. I can request one from Crosman and see if they send one along.

    Rick

  • I was wondering if you can shoot the air rifle in a backyard with it being queit and not having the cops called

  • it is pretty quiet and relatively quiet.. Unless you had really picky neighbors I would not expect you to have an issue.

    Rick

  • What would you recommend? The Beeman wolverine carbine with the RS1 trigger or the Crosman Quest 1000x. I'm thinking of getting the Crosman Quest 1000x but i'm not sure.

  • I'm not sure.. I've not had any exposure to the Wolverine.

    Rick

  • Can you please do a review on the crosman storm xt

  • the storm and the quest are the same gun...

    Rick

  • What are the most accurate pellets for the 2260?

  • at this point I don't remember... what did the review say? I don't have that rifle anymore.

    Rick

  • I went on your website, it was good. You wrote you had a 2260, I know that if you do not get the steel breech upgrade, you will have to get those clamp on scope mounts. But If you do get the steel breech upgrade, do you still need to buy those?

  • not sure... I had the funky mounts and they worked ok.. not great, but functional.

    Rick

  • About how many powerlets per bottle of peligun oil?

  • maybe 100 or so... the pellgunoil is only about $2.00 per.

    Rick

  • Im thinking of buying a Gamo Big Cat Air Rifle for $140, Should I buy this or do you have any other suggestion

  • the big cat is a great gun for the money.. hard to go wrong with it.

    Rick

  • Can these guns break skin?

  • most certainly.

    Rick

  • Rick do you think this gun has enough power to kill birds 2/3 the size of a pigeon up to 20 yards

  • I don't know.. you'd need to be real accurate and use medium heavy, pointed pellets to get the penetration you need.

    Rick

  • I never use 'pellgunoil' on my crosman and hasn't failed me yet, to me it's a way to squeeze a few extra dimes from us the consumers..

  • to each there own... I've seen pellgunoil bring a non-functioning gun back to life and restore power in weak guns.. it is not just a gimmick.

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • I like the QB better than the 1760 SE.

    rick

  • Hello! I just got my self a Crosman Phantom .22 cal. It only shoots 495 fps but I was just wondering what type of pellets should I use?

  • hey there.. I'd stick with RWS Hobbies or something like the Crosman Pointed pellets.

    Rick

  • Can you take out Minotaurs with that thing? Are you an expert of airguns?

  • I'm no expert... I do have a decent amount of experience which i'm happy to share with others... as for Minotaurs...? if you get the chance to try... let me know how it works out.

    Rick

  • no... single shot.. Take a look at ArcherAirguns. they have a 10 shot clip that you can add to a QB78 that will let you shoot 10 shots just by working the bolt... that may be a good option for you.

    Rick

  • I like the QB better... I think the XS is the same gun, but I'm not sure.. the 78 Deluxe is the one to get.

    Rick

  • It is almost impossible to get anything from Daisy.. I may be able to ask some vendors.. but it will be up to them if they send them. I'm certainly willing to produce a video on either or both of them.

    Rick

  • I need a cheap reliably acurate rifle to ward off these frigin seagulls rownd where i live!

they wake me up with there kwaa kwaa at 4am!

    Got any recomendations?

  • good question.... try a QB78 from Archer Airguns for about $90... should do the trick..

    rick

  • Gas Ram or CO2, which one is most reliable and durable of the two?

  • two completely different technologies... the "GAS RAM" is a metal spring replacement in a break barre rifle. CO2 is a compressed propellant. The durability of the gas ram is up in the air right now.. only time will tell. Springs wear out, I'm guessing the gas ram will to. With CO2 you are always having to buy co2 so they all have their down sides. I like the Gas Ram for the power, reduced recoil, and generally smoother shooting.

    Rick

  • i hear many people say that bbs destroy the rifling of the barrel but y does it do tht isnt it all the same fitting .17 .22 nd whatnot y does it destroy it. thank you Mr. Rick

  • alright i know this may sound like im a dumbass or somthing but what is a diffrence bewtween pellet,bb,and air rifles

  • Generally air "rifles" shoot pellets... some shoot both pellets and bbs (crosman pumpmasters for example) but the bb's kill the rifling in the barrels after a while. All of them propel their projectiles by air. Some you pump up, some use a spring and an air compression chamber, some use co2, and some use very high pressure air.

The physics of it all is the same as a shooting a spit ball in class. When you blow air in a straw... stuff comes out the other side.

    hope that helps.

    Rick

  • thanks

  • can someone tell me how far can crosman 1760 shoot

  • it is not a very powerful gun... the pellet can "fly" a long ways.. just won't have much accuracy and energy when it lands.

    Rick

  • can someone tell me how far can crosman 1760 shoot?????

  • for what purpose?

    Rick

  • cool airsoft! does that rifle have a rotary clip?

  • This is not airsoft.. It is a single shot pellet rifle.

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • Why would you want a co2 gun, your just taking stock in the company.

  • different strokes for different folks... I like them all.

    Rick

  • hey rick how is it going? i have a question about airguns..i live in california and i wonder if it is ilegal to shoot grackles or crows here!

  • Hey there.. I don't have a clue.. best to call your local police department and ask them directly.

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • how many shots can you fire before you need to put an new co2 tank on this gun?

  • about 30 to 35.

    Rick

  • i found a pump acton .117 air rifle that comes with a scope new for 50 bucks but its 300 fps how shity is that

  • "technically" they say "serious injury and fatality can occur" if misused. This gun could kill someone, as could most airguns. You need to follow proper shooting guidelines when using it.

    Rick

  • can you do the 2260? or the benjamin steroid version .22 caliber

  • hey there.. I had the 2260 in and just let it go recently. It is a decent rifle and shot well, but I did not have time to review it. Which benjamin are you talking about....? Send a link to my email when you can.

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • just co2.. powered rifles

    Rick

  • i wonder how much psi is in those co2 12grm cartage's

  • don't really know.......

    Rick

  • I mean, does Spring Piston, break Barrel, single shot rifles use CO2?

  • Nope.

    Rick

  • The Destroyer pellets did more damage to the paper.

  • One question, I have a Norica Krono, I read somewhere that it's a Single shot, spring piston, break barrel rifle.

Does my gun use CO2 canisters?

Cause I don't have an extra.

  • don't know that rifle.. check with Tom Gaylord over at PyramydAir's blog.

    Rick

  • Hi Rick! Really nice Vid. here.. like it. nway, may i please know how far you did the shots? i mean how may meters/yards? do you have idea to what is the effective range of this gun?

  • thanks for the comments.. it's been a while since I did this review.. I think I was about 15 yards away. I'd say that 15 yards is about the effective range.

    Rick

  • I get about 30 to 40 shots per co2.

    Rick

  • How long do you get out of each co2 canister? thanks

  • I believe you can still get the 2260. You may want to consider a TechForce 78 deluxe. I should be getting one in soon to review.

    Rick

  • Does crosman even make the 2260se anymore? If not would buying a normal 2260, putting a steel breech on it and putting a scope on it make it the same? And is there any semi automatic airguns with wooden stock for sale?

  • I'm not familiar with all the available upgrades out there for the crosman co2 guns. I know you can do a whole lot with them. As for semi-automatic airguns, Yes, there are a few out there. They will be CO2 or PCP. Take a look at PyramydAir's site.

    Rick

  • Does crosman still make all of their guns in the USA

  • nope.. all in china.. Just the Benjamin Discovery and the Sheridan pump rifles are still made here. Maybe some of the custom stuff as well.

    Rick

  • Generally speaking, Diana rifles are good rifles. I'd need to know the model to be more help.

    Rick

  • instead of just using a drop of pelgunoil, could i use a drop of any other type of lubricating oil, or maybe wd40?

  • nope... most likely it will eat the seals.. Stick with what was made for the job.

    Hope that helps.

    Rick

  • Whats a good .22 repeater under $300 that is known to work good and last?

  • RWS 850 Air Magnum... I hope to get one in this summer for testing.

    Rick

  • i am looking for smoth bore barrel(not rifling) does this model has one?

    thanks.

  • nope.... Rifled

    Rick

  • air gun web i have a winchester 177 cal what should i upgrade to?? im thinking crossman but not sure what model..

  • what is your budget...?

    Rick

  • hello there. i will soon buy a pellet gun and i have some questions. first i am deciding between crosman 1000x and beeman. which is better? second what is the range of shooting with egg. 1000fps?

  • email me directly for more information....

    Rick

  • seen alot of your videos theyre very good. i was wondering whether you have herd of the parker hale striker? its the same as the bsa lightning i think but a feew different bits to it, its .177 and i was wondering what the velocity is on it ? thanks.

  • Thank you for your comments.. I've not heard of that rifle.. Give Tom Gaylord a try over at PyramydAir's blog.. he knows just about everything.

    Rick

  • here i have a request..can u make a video on how too shoot with a scope i know most of what u need but be nice too be how u do it had different ranges and stuff like that

  • That is a good idea.. I actually have a set of training videos that I'd like to do. I'll see if I can work that in.

    Rick

  • hey rick.does the crosman destroyer work well in the walther lever action

  • From what I remember it worked ok.. but not as well as the Gamo Magnums.

    Rick

  • I would have to say no. At 20 yards it will not activate my gamo knock down squirrel field target. I just don't think it has the power to do the job without just wounding your game.

    Rick

  • What about the 2260SE? . Any reviews in the works?

  • I hope to get to one. I've got one of the standard 2260's that I've been working with, but the weather has been too cold for CO2 reviews. I hope that will change soon.

    Rick

  • I've seen you say on multiple videos that you should add a drop of oil on the top of the co2 cartridge, but what does it do?

  • It is call PellGunOil, made by Crosman specifically to lubricate the internal parts on CO2 bb and pellet guns. You can get it at PyramydAir and other distributors.

    Hope that helps.

    Rick

  • haha yea i know that part, but i mean how does it help the gun perform, do you have any idea?

  • I'm guessing that by keeping the parts lubricated they last longer. As for performance, I'm not sure that it does anything other than help maintain proper seals thereby maintaining proper pressure and velocity.

    Rick

  • that's a cool gun!

  • I recently bought a new Crossman .177 air gun with about 700Fps... i was wondering if this amount of speed would be enough to take small game like squirrels and birds using pellets like the Crossman Destroyer, flat, or domed pellets

  • Hey there.. I dropped you a note on one of your other posts.. but here is a copy:

You should be ok if you keep your shots to 20 yards or less. Also, make sure that you can hit a quarter reliably from whatever distance you plan to shoot from. That way you can make clean kills and not just wound your game.

    Rick

  • i did recieve the initial message, i posted the question twice cus it said it didnt go through on the first video.... i guess it did.... cant rely on internet for the truth

  • NP.

    Rick

  • I just got that gun today :)

  • Cool.. let us know what you think of it!

    Rick

  • Really like your videos. I don't know why anyone would buy a Co2 gun because the cost of the Co2 cartridges will eventually exceed the added cost of a high quality gun either spring or pcp.

  • I'm glad you like the videos.. I'm sure you are right on the math regarding the co2... However, I try to remind folks that hobbies are never really based on financial common sense... Rather people get them because they just like them... I love shooting CO2 for target practice or just plinking in the back yard... Doesn't have to make sense financially.

    Rick

  • What would you suggest?

GAMO Whisper / Crosman 1760 SE or the L96 AWP?

  • What do you want to shoot? the Gamo Whisper and the 1760 are very different rifles. I'm unfamiliar with the L96 AWP.

    Rick

  • Ya good job with the videos

  • Thanks.. I hope to have some more soon.

    Rick

  • Basicaly, I want to hunt Rats / Crows.

The distances I am talking about are between 20 to 100 meters.

If you would do your next review on the L96 AWP I will really appriciate it.

It seems like a very powerful rifle, and it has very stable handling and stock is perfect.

    Thank you.

  • 20 meters is fairly easy. 100 meters is stretching it. Neither will work at 100 meters. You'll need either a PCP rifle like the Discovery, or a Magnum Srping Rifle like the TechForce Contender 89 or RWS 850 Magnum. Also for 100 meters you need .22 vs .177. As for the L96 AWP, that is an airsoft rifle and would not work for shooting rats or crows. It shoots plastic while these others shoot lead at velocities more than double airsoft.

    Hope that helps.

    Rick

  • Thank you very much for taking the time on answering my questions.

Yes it helped a lot, and I think I will take the RWS 850 Magnum.

    Thanks again!

  • you are welcome.. give PyarmyAir a try and spend the extra $10 on their 10-4-10 service. They'll shoot ten shots with the rifle before they send it out to make sure that you don't get a bad gun. Well worth the extra $10. If you call them.. Please tell them that Rick Eutsler from AirGunWeb sent you their way.

    Thanks!

    Rick

  • nice grouping buddy and good video

  • Thanks!

    Rick
