Well, the incident apparently is still being investigated by the Michigan Bar (Doyle O'Connor is an attorney), as of this January at least, as part of a larger investigation dealing with O'Connor's later refusal to follow a court order. And people still occasionally comment on it to me - even, or especially, Democrats.
No action ever was taken against Brewer formally, because there really is nothing formal that could be done given that he the MDP party chairman and had no ethical obligations.
