@addisonave1 ...while marking your territory. Yeah, we know it would have been a better gear to have if approaching that spot in a pack at 50kph rather than from a standing start, but OTOH she's showing the technique and perhaps is intentionally trying for some kind of slow motion effect to show the novices. Funny tho.
An absolutely shocking video. No tips at all!! Just a mildly hot chick doing a slow sprint after a desperately short run up. You'd learn more simply by searching "Cavendish"
She's very attractive...as for a sprinting tip...not at all...as for the sprinting experience...only a maybe. I typically don't like to see people going around me when I sprint, but I don't know, that's just me.
Im sorry was this video called "Sprinting Tips for Competitive Cyclists" or "What is Sprinting for Dummies?" Maybe you should include some tips in your tips video. Just a suggestion.
dude that sprint is super slow. wat cat are u? i mean u coulda went farther up the block to get ur speed it. u talk about going s fast as u can in the sprint and i fail to believe thats as fast as u can go. but if it is then im smdh
Wow what a sprint, you rode 60 or so yards in your biggest gear from a near dead stop only to go by at maybe 22mph? What a realistic demo. Because putting in a real sprint finish wouldnt be as impressive or demonstrational..
Yah I gotta agree with the person saying stay seated. Unless you are going uphill and need the torque or you can really use your upper-body but still keep good cadence you are better off in the saddle.
-at around 35 seconds "when you see people coming around...there is nothing like that" Like what? Failing at the sprint because that is what is happening when you "see people coming around".
Personally, I find that staying seated is a lot faster in a sprint than out of the saddle. You want to increase your cadence to the maximum you can sustain and there is no way to do that while standing. Once you stand, your torque goes up but you cadence drops... great if you are sprinting up a hill but not good for anything else. Try increasing your cadence/torque in bursts before the sprint, which will allow you to maintain speed and give your muscles a little breath right before the push.
When I sprint, I usually sit down and tuck in, and that cadence is way too slow.... drop a few gears and spin at 110rpm (for a long 1-2 mile, few minute sprint, not a few second burst of speed), putting in some effort all around the pedal stroke, not just on the down.
Some of you commentators are so retarded and proud. Obviously, this is for beginners; people who have never even done races. Wow, you can sprint faster than some Cat 3 girl. Good for you. Bet a twig like Andy Shleck would own you on any terrain. Maybe you should post a video of you sprinting so Cancellera can watch it, laugh, and tell you that's his cruising speed. Douchebags.
Lol its funnier then hell when people shake there bikes from side to side like that thats from arm movement... its supposed to be from your leg strength. Your bike should rock but not as drasticly keeping it more stable puts more power into your stroke or push.
why not go and watch Mark Cavendish to see how you actually sprint, seeing as he can go 40 mph flat out and she can't even reach 20. jeesh, she hasn't even been riding for the last 7 hours
lol don't expect to win many races if that's what you call a sprint! you don't talk about different sprinting styles, hands on drops/hands on hoods, gear slection, cadence etc? good luck!
great tips, again..:) before watchin this vid i used to slow down in the last 1 or 2 miles, now i know that's the wrong thing to do, and that you're supposed to speed up and 'go really fast'... I'll deffo be doing this in future, i realise why i lost so many races now..!
not to be harsh - but concur. This 'expert' has terrible form, especially when still seated, rocking like a pendulum. The cause maybe in part that the bike looks a size too big IMO, at least from this vantage point..
