  • First off, the Gauley and the Nob put in BELOW dams, which is actually quite common to do, yes even for commercial companies. As for the ratings Ive been rafting for 12 years, professionally guiding for 6. The colorado is the ONLY river that uses anything over 6, and if you break it down to 3+, 4-,4,4+,5-,5,5+,6 it comes out to be the same rating. As for the class 7, whoever claims there is a class 7, this is from AWW-

  • Grade VI: These runs have almost never been attempted and often exemplify the extremes of difficulty, unpredictability and danger. The consequences of errors are very severe and rescue may be impossible. For teams of experts only, at favorable water levels, after close personal inspection and taking all precautions. After a Class VI rapids has been run many times, its rating may be changed to an appropriate Class 5.x rating.

  • yeah the grand is the western whitewater scale and that goes 1-10 the international scale is 1-6...6 being considered unrunable or good chance of death

  • This was the best video on youtube until they took the audio away.... set to deuling banjos... pretty epic i'd say

  • actually some rivers(midwest) colorado for example use a 10 rating for rapids...also some people just call a rapid that is high likelyhood of death even for experts a 7...even though its not "official"

  • Booooooriiiiing... No blood, no bodies, no guts, no pain, nothing.

  • yea subzero4829 theres only 5 levels dumbass so dont exaggerate and i have been in an accident myself Salida Colorado Arkansas river Company rafting name Four Corners i was separated form my whole raft crew for 8 hours

  • well actualy ther are 6 levels but ww6 is imposible to ride...so yes a agree that 7 level river is buls**t(sorry about this word)

  • dont be such a dick

  • hi, im going out to take on the zambezi 13-20september for charity.... its my first time rafting, does anybody hve any kind of idea if we'll get really wild water that time of year??? Im hoping so... Cheers in advance for any responses folks....?? Pablo

  • Good luck pablo, tell us out how it goes

  • @pablodiablo6669 yeah it get prity wild over there around that time so prepear yourself to come home with onw hell of a sore .....................................ass coz u gona get pumped FAGET LOLOLLLLLL UR GAY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • music choice, great, matches nicely with the video, captions, funny...

  • the highest level is 6

    you liar

  • Not funny, my sister died 3 years ago caused by drowning while river rafting, she was sucked into a dam which we drifted too far down stream... we were toing a level 7 river

  • i hope you're making that up, subzero. i didn't know they'd let you go river rafting near a dam. and yeah, is there a level 7?

  • We were supposed to get off the river, and we were getting off the raft about 1200m away from it, and my sister floated off (7 yrs old) and drowned. accident's happen, I'm just saying, be careful

  • @OrionEdWood I think down on the Colorado river they have Levels instead of classes. Not sure if its true or not.

  • @OrionEdWood

no..there is no level 7, and no, nobody really commercially rafts anything over 5 if that...

  • Class 7, huh? That's a new one. Are you sure you've got that correct? They only rate up to 6, and no one commercially rafts above a 5.

  • hey dumbass there is no level 7 VII???? yea right. and you probly wernt with a commercial rafting company if you were by a dam.

  • I've done the Penobscot in Maine which puts in right by a dam and I've done the Gauley in WV which puts in right next to a dam...both commercial companies

  • dude its called a dam release quite common

  • Ummm...i hope you know that you CAN'T bring kids as young as your sister at a level like that! Funny the officials didn't prohibit her from going, b/c that level is way too dangerous for young kids! Should be at least 18 ot older.

  • @subzero4829 lmao it only goes to 6, and you can blame yourself for being retarded enough to go near a dam.

  • i cant wait and were going july 17 hang on to your hat and grab your grandma were for wild ride.

  • how was the rafting, echo? you still there?

  • @OrionEdWood yes his last sign in was 2 hours ago :P

  • Excuse me has anyone seen an empty raft anywhere on the river? Today?

  • This one's gotta at least be in the running for longest, water-level, crew in raft surf on the net?

  • great adventure that must have been!

  • I almost died in a rafting accident and it was horrible....really. Horseshoe Canyon in Canada.

  • good thing you survived, nells. i can see how easy it is to drown while white water rafting

  • very sorry you survived you shit head meat sack

  • just ignore tomahawk, folks. as a child he was molested by a hillbilly while on a rafting trip

  • i think i know that guy at the begining with the curly hair

  • NICE Which river is that??

  • Big Nasty on the Cheat River, Albright, WV

  • Was that Burt Reynolds still in the raft ? !!!

  • LOL!! Good one mitch! Ha ha ha, we're old enough to remember the movie...!

  • what movie is it from? and whos burt Reynolds

  • you just made me feel really old damcorp, LOL! The soundtrack is from "Deliverance", a movie from the 1970's. Burt Reynolds was in it, he used to be really famous back then. He's still around, acting in small roles....

  • I remember when Burt was hosting the Tonight Show while J Carson was on vacation and shaved of half of his mustache.

  • Funny!

  • :) F.U.N.N.Y!

  • Nice subtitling as always

  • Nice job, really good video. Did those guys drown or anything? Or did they come out fine?

  • Hi feanor, yeah they all came out ok, the rescuers were all waiting downstream.....

  • This sound track is awesome. The fist time i heard it was in Deliverance

  • Hey there, jojobev! You're right, it is from Deliverance. I'm surprised you know the movie, 'cause it's from the '70's. Cool!

  • Yeah but its just such a kick ass movie
