Alright people if you would like me to explain it, it's like this...
Kangaroos are marsupials, or in other words pouch bearing mammals. They do not develop a placenta in their womb, so the baby kangaroo can not stay in the womb for the entirety of its development. It must crawl by instinct and attach itself to the mammary gland (Milk producing nipple) in the mother's pouch.
Other marsupials are kuala bears, and wallabys... I'm sure there are others that I don't know of.
Wooow this is amazing I never knew that the actual development happened inside the pouch, I just thought that was for carrying their baby kangaroos lol.
Mother: Here let me help you stand up. Joey:Im fine mom. Mother:No your not your falling all over the place. Joey:I dont need your help im fine! Mother: YOU LITTLE TURD! YOUR GROUNDED FOR A YEAR NOW!GET BACK INTO YOUR POUCH! Joey: Yes m'am. :*( - And thats what really happened. :)
It's stupid how some comments bug ppl. Like god comments. Or saying this is amazing and beautiful. I think this is a wonderful part of nature within another creature.
Just watch this. It shows how AWESOME God is. Every animal is unique in its own way. tiny month old with no eyes but can smell. Move itself toward the pouch and start developing. Just too awesome to take in.
that was beautiful. The beginning was a bit reviling, but when I saw the joey instinctively and impulsively travel to the pouch through the abundance of hair & latch onto the umbilical-cord , I realized how MORE amazing animals are. Loved when the mum placed her claws on her joey, almost hugging him.
@nebbscorner They don't attach to an umbilical cord, they attach to a mammary gland which is basically a milk producing nipple. The reason they exit through the mother's vagina when they are still a fetus is because an umbilical cord is actually never made while the fetus is in the womb.
In most mammals except marsupials (Pouch bearing mammals) a placenta and umbilical cord forms. But for marsupials like kangaroos that is not the case :)
LISTEN UP FOLKS, THERE IS ONLY ONE UNIVERSAL COMMENTATOR PEOPLE. WHETHER YOU CALL HIM DAVID OR SIR ATTENBOROUGH IS YOUR WISH. HERPS AND DERPS AND JERPS AND FLERPS AND MERPS ALL BELIEVE IN THIS ONE COMMENTATOR. THERE IS NO OTHER. NOW CAN WE PLEASE JUST ENJOY THE PROCESS OF BIRTH IN THE VIDEO ABOVE? THANK YOU.
Why does this video have advertisements? The license fee which we are forced to pay to see any television at all should at a minimum free us from commercial exploitation.
@msknowitall55 i guess because when the baby is 1st born it has no skin, so who knows the pain it feels when something touchs it? anyway thats not a scientefic fact, its just what i believe..
@msknowitall55 their arms cant bend that way also they don't have opposable thumbs plus she would kill it if she did hold it as there is little bone structure
wow. that was amazing to watch. the tiny fetus crawling up into the pouch. i just wondering how they filmed in the pouch? o.o but yeah that gave me a warm feeling in my heart.
I was a bit worried about what happens if it falls off onto the ground (especially if they stick the camera's down there). It would die. But then i realised, it's only a fetus. So if it dies it's just like abortion, and thats OK, who cares. The fetus is not alive, it's just a dead thing that moves by instinct. If it falls in the dirt she can squash it and just have another one.
@tosgem How the hell can it move and nurse if it wasn't alive? If anything, baby kangaroos are living proof that abortion is wrong because the fetus IS clearly alive.
@SteffersFavourites The reason they give birth so early is because in marsupials, a placenta is not formed. So the fetus lives off of the mother's nutrients that were in the uterine lining for awhile, and then once it runs out of nutrients from there it is given birth to and crawls to a nipple to suck milk from.
See in humans we make a placenta so we can get nutrients from what our mom eats, as well as other mammals.
@assil110 And the fact that it could just be the culmination of many years of development across the species never occurred to you? Look at it this way. Baby kangaroos that didn't climb to the pouch died. The ones that did survived. Natural selection at work.
@boneo410 You know what you are trying to do, I will tell you: you already suppose that God does not exist and then you try to find any explanation even of it is stupid and illogic: The new born baby doesnt have any experience, so why the default for them is climb to the pouch!!! They dont go to different directions randomly, the default is up
@assil110 Sugar, the "stupid and illogical" explanation is actually the basis for a lot of modern science. As someone who is doing a science degree I think I am reasonable qualified to talk on this subject. The default is up because that's where the pouch is AND (and it says so on the video) the baby can smell the pouch.
@boneo410 As I told, your problem is that for you God and Science are antipathetic. so a very normal consequence is that you use science to deny God existence. Anyway, when I said why the default is up, I dont mean that there is no tangible reason to be so (the explanation is the science), but what I am trying to show to you is: why there is such smell to bring babies up...
Look, who does not believe in god, does not need proves, it is a ideological decision, it is no a logical one....
@assil110 Proves? Do you, perhaps, mean "proof"? And yes because logic defies the fact that there might be a god. And the reason I use science to deny the existence of god is BECAUSE it does. As to why there is such a smell to attract the babies to the pouch... I refer you to my earlier comment about natural selection: "Baby kangaroos that didn't climb to the pouch died.
