  • three ravens 400 +years

  • one of the best documentaries ever

  • Just finished watching the documentary 30 mins ago. It took me that long to find this song after being blow away by this musical composition being played at the end. What a brilliant series this has been to watch.

Oh and p.s. What a voice this woman has and what a composer John Howle is.

    Peace from down under.

  • Brilliant conclusion.

  • song begins at 2:27

  • what is the name of the song that begins at 2:27? if i remember correctly this same song was sung on a different segment of a history of britain entitled the body of the queen about queen elizabeth the first?

  • @suntzu1985 ,

The Three Ravens by John Harle I think.

  • this series changed my life as a teen. My love and passion for history and world events took over my soul when I saw this series. Used to watch it over and over again, unbelievably well-written and produced.

  • Same here.

  • :) Indeed.

  • Your comment sums it up - the most profoundly affecting series I've ever watched. Life-changing indeed.

  • POWERFUL, beautiful ending....very inspiring.

  • Can anyone please download the song The Three Ravens sung by Sarah Leonard, it is the song that is sung at the very end of this clip. Been trying to find this song forever. Thanks!

  • You could, I don't know, BUY IT. Strange concept to people these days. It's on the History of Britain soundtrack CD.

  • I was 4 months old when Orwell died and 15 yrs old when Churchill died. I never really knew the connection between the two and how both have shaped not just their country's history but mine as well. This series was an eye opener when I first saw it on PBS and it's no less moving here. Churchill and Orwell would have loved YouTube! Thanks for posting!

  • I absolutely love the music at the end of this episode, moving and just incredible.

  • The title of the song at end is "The Three Ravens" sung by Sarah Leonard, you find this on John Harle's Terror and Magnificance CD or History of Britain soundtrack

  • Amazing amazing. So rewatchable.

  • Best Epilogue EVER...

  • I TOTALLY agree!!!!

  • An amazing series. I am no patriot but my country does have quite an amazing history.

  • Pick up an Irish hisotry book sometime..one day as a random act on a cold rainy day i did

simply out of boredom..two weeks later i put it down..and there by aquired a blind hatred of the British empire i had never had before

    strangest thing..

  • I'm a History teacher, have Irish family and specialise in Irish history. I was just commenting on the amazing history, both the good and the bad. Although to be convinced by one book and then to describe your hatred as 'blind' is quite scary. Almost all groups have been oppressed as well as being the oppressors.

  • I'd just like to say as youtube will only allow me to give one thumbs up, that this comment in absolutely brilliant.

  • You're not a patriot? What's wrong with you?

  • No I'm not a patriot. There are many things wrong with me. I'm not sure of the connection between not being a patriot and having something wrong with me though. I think of myself as a citizen of the world rather than just blindly loving my country for no other reason than being born in it which is down to sheer chance.

  • then you must be a person of oceania!
