Just finished watching the documentary 30 mins ago. It took me that long to find this song after being blow away by this musical composition being played at the end. What a brilliant series this has been to watch.
Oh and p.s. What a voice this woman has and what a composer John Howle is.
what is the name of the song that begins at 2:27? if i remember correctly this same song was sung on a different segment of a history of britain entitled the body of the queen about queen elizabeth the first?
this series changed my life as a teen. My love and passion for history and world events took over my soul when I saw this series. Used to watch it over and over again, unbelievably well-written and produced.
Can anyone please download the song The Three Ravens sung by Sarah Leonard, it is the song that is sung at the very end of this clip. Been trying to find this song forever. Thanks!
I was 4 months old when Orwell died and 15 yrs old when Churchill died. I never really knew the connection between the two and how both have shaped not just their country's history but mine as well. This series was an eye opener when I first saw it on PBS and it's no less moving here. Churchill and Orwell would have loved YouTube! Thanks for posting!
The title of the song at end is "The Three Ravens" sung by Sarah Leonard, you find this on John Harle's Terror and Magnificance CD or History of Britain soundtrack
I'm a History teacher, have Irish family and specialise in Irish history. I was just commenting on the amazing history, both the good and the bad. Although to be convinced by one book and then to describe your hatred as 'blind' is quite scary. Almost all groups have been oppressed as well as being the oppressors.
No I'm not a patriot. There are many things wrong with me. I'm not sure of the connection between not being a patriot and having something wrong with me though. I think of myself as a citizen of the world rather than just blindly loving my country for no other reason than being born in it which is down to sheer chance.

You could, I don't know, BUY IT. Strange concept to people these days. It's on the History of Britain soundtrack CD.
