Let's get this straight. It took 7 Months to build to whole thing but over 2 years to replace the pavilions that were destroyed by fire? How come when a pavilion is a smaller job?
7 months to build that magnificent structure that has lasted well over 100 years is amazing and to think it has housed 2 pavilions that were destroyed by fire and it survived them both! And it now holds a pavilion even bigger and heavier than before!
They knew how to make things to last back in those days.
