This is my favorite children's book. I read it to my kids many, many nights for many, many years. I would read them other books first but then end on this one. (The lady is a little creepy in this video...I am actually afraid of going to sleep now. Will my phone ring and if I answer, will I die in seven days?)
its weird how when i was a little kid, this was great. Now that i'm 22, it is sorta creepy. Movies these days..ruin everything. I can see linda blairs face popping up the end of this video.
My two year old daughter and I have been watching this rendition every night after discovering it about 6 months ago. The two of us have always enjoyed the story book, but after watching it on youtube it has seemed to become a ritual for us both. Thanks for creating such a captive opportunity for us. She and I both love your work!!!
I love this story - still.. I am actually on my way to bed and wanted it.. havent felt that way in a while. this was definately the best version i was able to find... so goodnight moon :)
My son loves to watch this. The story is classic and the music is soothing. I personally don't love the story, but it definitely appeals to children, and comforts them.
As a spectator to the scene it may seem creepy to you. But many children identify with the little bunny, so small in the big room, big world, where they can't yet name all the new things they see. It can be reassuring, comforting, to identify the various objects shown in the dimming light. In such safety, it's easier to go to sleep; a big issue for a child. I don't criticize your reaction; you're just stating how the book struck you. I'm just citing some reasons I think children are fond of it.
beautiful!

Don't overlook Brown's many other classic children's books that are still favorites today, especially The Important Book and The Golden Egg.
