It is a mistake! The destination is true, but she has never lived in this castle as a Countess. She was based down in the village of Cachtice in her mansion. This hastle was Army base at the beginning of 17th century. She has spent her very last 4 years of the life imprisoned here in this fortress on the hill above Cachtice.
@Adarvuli I live in the neighbourhood, 70 km from this place. There is a Bathory Museum based down in the Cachtice village. The history of her family and all this point was well doccumented.

I can't help but think about all the poor souls of the many young women murdered by Countess Elisabeth Bathory. I hope they found peace, some how. I wonder if the castle has any paranormal activities?
If only these walls can talk! How much they would tell us about the torture that took place here. Does anyone know where this murderous monster is buried ? I don't think a place like this will ever feel right. Too much happened behind these walls. There are probably bodies nearby that were never recovered. She killed over 650 girls that they know of. I feel very uneasy about this place It sickens me to think about the torture that took place right here behind these walls..
