This was the kind of boring crap that got funded by Canadian tax payers. Like they had nothing better to do with public money. SCTV did a right appropriate parody on these useless commercials---"the woodchuck".
wow, this brings me back. I seem to remember when I was a kid sending away to the Canadian Wildlife Service in Ottawa for magazines about wildlife. Anyone remember that too?
so far, only the loon hww has an intact loon call at the end, and the new ones dont have it at all.
I have started a facebook group to bring back the loon call on hinterland who's who and encourage others to reinstate the call, this is important cultural stuff.
@rtfordy - "A terrestrial day-active animal, the woodchuck hibernates in snowy climes."
The topper was, later in the episode, there's a parody of "Goin' Down the Road" ("Garth & Gord & Fiona & Alice"). In it, as Garth & Gord are driving from the Maritimes to Toronto, they drive right through the film-shoot, where the Hinterland segment is being shot...flattening the woodchuck. Eugene Levy's reaction (as the director) is priceless!
When did they stop airing these? I haven't seen any of them in years.
