What a Shi-te ad! It's a wonder any maxima's were sold in the US, if this was the main advertisement. Anyone can read from a tele promter - she seems like she's never even seen a Maxima! By the way it's a NISSAN: pronounced NISS-AN, not NEE-SANN.

People really need to start supporting American made vehicles. Not only that, but American made products in general before we lose the strength we have and are meshed into this global economy. Please people support our American workers or at least think of your fellow Americans when shopping for a vehicle or at your local store for day to day goods. God Bless America.
Lets put it this way. the Impala. Great car? Maybe. It has a known deffect with a transmission failure since 1999. The car has been made the same way with this disreguard up until 2004. it was a KNOWN FLAW SINCE 1999. And Chevy did nothing about it. They just kept making them the same way. 00-01 Maxima came with a vq30de-k. The butterfly valves 100% failed after 80k miles. Nissan Fixed that problem in 02 with a 3.5L. That's just ONE difference. Americans build it shitty. Importers do not.
What's funny is now the Altima at 268HP has an engine with more horsepower than the Maxima just a couple of years ago Maxima's engine at 255 HP was just about 10-15 Hp above the Altima but not anymore. I like this car but since it is trying to be an upscale car how can it compete with the other cars out there that fall into the same $25-35,000 price range.
If you want a real head-turner get a Toyota Yaris. I swear. Every freaking week when I'm in a gas station or parking lot with my Yaris someone walks up to me asking about my car (mostly curious about the gas mileage). It's all of a sudden made me very popular with strangers.
Yeah this has nothing to do with the Maxima, but the lady kept mentioning "turning heads" so I thought I'd throw that in.
I'll tell you whats gay, a stock 92 Vette has less horsepower than a stock 2002 Maxima, which has a V6 by the way...what marvelous engineering, GM has, to only squeeze 215 horsepower out of a 350 cubic inch engine.
I'm holding out for the New York Auto Show. Hopefully Nissan will regain some direction with it. It should have never been allowed to have been outperformed by the Ultima. Bad move for your flagship model.
you aint never lie lady

I know nothing about previous years but the new max is sweet.

I prefer Gen5.5 and the Gen6. The Gen6.5 sucks with the CVT.

i like the 2002-2003 year look best...the 6th gen looks like a bloated whale. looks fat as in big and bulky not good looking haha
skylinedl69 4 years ago
too bad that it's ugly. Older gens are much better.
