Secondly, INDIE is not a genre. The only difference between an independent record and a mainstream record is the manner by which it is produced. Ergo, if Kelly Clarkson has not been signed by a major label and she produces a song "Since You've Been Gone" technically she's an independent musician.

i can see why this is so well liked, i like her version of the song. I have nothing against it, but if i had to choose between the two, i would choose the original, and not because she is a woman. Dan auerbach, the black keys singer, has a much more bluesier voice that is more suitable for this song, and while she arguably has more of a range, i still prefer dan's. What i would like to see though, is a duet between the two, that would be cool to watch.
