Knock see when youv'e pitched up and done your sample chops how do you match it to a hip hop tempo? Do you always just throw the metronome on and just match it by ear? I been using auto slice on maschine so far but wanna start maually cutting now to use more parts of a song on one bank if you get me? At the moment im cutting a loop of a sample i want in fl then dragging the wav to maschine and auto slicing then rearranging the chops but i wanna move on from that
this is so awesome im studying this video to learn how to get started with my maschine! thumbs up!! ...also, so glad you updated your recordings of your videos to 720p lol
I get inspired every time I watch this video. You make it seem so simple to sample and chop on maschine. Now I cant make my mind up between this or an MPC. Knock, are you running just turntable and maschine? Do you use an MPC? For a first timer, what would you suggest...mpc or maschine?
@tylawtheboss Whats up. I dont use an MPC..I have owned the 2000 3000 and MPC 60...I use maschine now. No diss to the MPC... just that maschine is more powerful (for me) I run turntable into the audio interface and sample into maschine
@KnockSquared Dope ass beat my dude. I've been an avid MPC 2000 to XL user. Of course now I'm tired of recording my beats into the computer so I need the convenience of making my beat in the computer. So what do you think? MPC studio or Maschine? Can Maschine spread out the octaves on the 16 pads like the MPC's 16 levels? 16 levels is a very important feature for what I do. If I can find a way to do that on Maschine, I'll get it. If not, I'm a wait 'til summer time on that MP
@FS890 the maschine does velocity, keyboard and regular sound per pad mode. (say you start left to right then from bottom to top.... for keyboard...... the first pad is middle "C" then next c sharp/d flat, third pad "D3" 4th pad "D" sharp/"E" flat and so on. the default is regular pad playing where a kick,snare,hht......are on each pad, its extremely versatile... and theres not a better drum machine.
@samstermunch I gotcha. It does notes. On the MP, you've got the 16 levels (octaves). I can change the octaves of the samples. But I am ready to move on to the Maschine. I've created so many projects with the MP. It's just time to move on from the analog drum machines to the digital. Nobody wants to run 50 million cables from your drum machine to a mixing board or interface to put each single beat in the computer. The Maschine will be my next upgrade for the studio
Hey man so I've ben looking for a way to spice up my beats, as they are mostly looped samples with some drum and bass work. I like what you do and I respect you, man. Do you know where I can get a maschine cheap?
hey knock nice vid i love how quick you are with putting together samples. Speaking of sampling i have one quick question, ive been using audacity to upload the songs that i want to sample through maschine and it hasnt had a problem reading any of my music. I recently downloaded the soundtrack to one of my favorite video games off of itunes in hope of sampling it but every time i throw the song in audacity it only picks up about i second of the song. do you know how i can fix this problem?
i seen one of your old videos where u linked up an mv to the maschine thru midi cables. how would you do that with the maschine mikro that doest have midi ports?
Will you tell me or post a video on how to set certain pads to play through after one touch and still being able to cut off the sample by the touch of another pad please?
im wondering how you get your kicks to punch through so well any tips on that is that parralell compression or fast attack or what it just punches so well get back at me if ya could thanks.
@FreestyleLilWayne whats up bro. honestly the only thing I apply is a little bit of compression. and thats not even all the time. I usually just load the kit from maschine and roll with it as is.
@KnockSquared Sounds perfect as is.. The synth and the piano fills were a nice addition as well and I like the fact that it's not over produced and has just the right elements. Look forward to seeing future vids.
@KnockSquared Hey knock im a big fan of yours, I wanted to know where you got your filter FX to HP2 at around 5:00. I dont have that on mine, I only have HP on my mine.. What I want to do is get the vocal to stand out with less of the backround, how exactly did you do that? Please reply Im on the verge of discovery!
@KnockSquared yah I found it lol, the HP2 didnt do much form my vocal sample Quick question, Im tryna sample some vocals from a movie, The movie has a little backround noise/sounds, do you know anyway I can lessin that sound, so that just the vocals stand out? Ive been messing with audacity, all all, Just run out of ideas
@junglesurvivalcamp No not really. In my situation my audio interface allows me to sample whatever is playing on my computer. You could also route your computers output back into the input and sample that way. Make sure Maschine's monitor button is off though to avoid feedback
lol so many people ask about youre audio interface, if they watch all youre vid's they see what you use because you made a video that answers all those questions.
\When i see you do this, its like a walk in da park for you men, I hope one day to doe it just as easy as you! Keep those vids coming bro, they rock knock!
@AcidRMC Thanks Fam. Yeah..you know... just from constantly staying on it is what makes me fast on Maschine. Thats the key... stay on it. When I first got it I was SLOW....LOL
@KnockSquared Thanks! I'm good man, just poppin by to hear some more magic, you do with this thing lol Only giving credit where it's due haha, Big ups
That's was hot Knock, I never comment, but after two yrs. of watching you do great work I had to finally say something, you have talent and a ear for music, keep it up.
What audio interface do you use to get samples from vinyl into your computer then to maschine? im a noooob and im trying to find some suggestions for good interfaces. dope vid!
Knock, this beat is serious. That said, I don't really feel like that last little guitar riff at the end of the bars fits. Could just be me. Solid stuff none the less.
