At what point did this show stop being a trippy nonsensical Max Headroom pisstake and turn into a slightly random chat-show-plus-the-odd-cartoon format? It just wasn't the same without the talking football and Scratchy's rubber wig.
Every saturday id be over my nans watching this, then as soon as they put animaniacs on my grandad would come in and demand i go out for a walk with him, same bloody time every week!
I used to love this lol. One thing that bugs me tho is I can't remember the programme that they showed. What I remember about it is they worked in a Burger Restaurant. lol.
I recorded the very first episode of this on VHS wen i was a mere 10yr old (now 25) garfield animainiacs & batman were on this show happy days miss the 90s a hell of alot 2000 onwards has been shit
i can't believe Elliot was only 6 when he played Reg !.I always thought he was abit older, like about 10 years old or something. It's clever how he acted like Reg at such a young age !.Well he's 6 on this clip, he was 5 when the show started.
thank you so much !!. i was hoping someone would upload sratchy and co onto youtube !.I used to watch this and this has brought back great memories. It's very tragic that Mark Speight died though..
I hate bring the "is it live?" query up again, but if it was live, how did Reg get his deep voice? Surely he was miming, but was he really that good that he could remember all of the script?
I can remember one episode where Scratchy actually had Mark Speight as a guest (obviously using split-screen stuff) and he was very rude to him which led to "Mark" running out the studio crying.
No. It was a full-length saturday morning show in an era when CITV really were having difficulty in finding a successful saturday morning format to compete with live and Kicking on CBBC. Actually, Scratchy and Co was more successful than the others during his period, but not successful enough!
A magnificent upload of Scratchy and Co featuring the late Mark Speight I watched all three series when it used to be on Saturday mornings at 9:25 cheers vtx264 and look forward to seeing more from you.
Thanks for this clip, really brings it all back. I seem to remember that the first series of this was entirely fronted from a CSO screen and then the next series being given a set. At the time it alternated with Wow! (which was poor), but apparently LWT weren't pleased at how much Wow! was costing and they preferred Scratchy instead as it was cheaper. And there was also an episode of Sooty set in Spain from the 1996 series too.
Used to love this. I remember there was a penguin aswell and one episode he was running about everywhere, in the GMTV studio he popped up behind the presenters through the window lol. Thanks for uploading.
The credits of Mind the Baby Mr Bean say "Lydia Henderson Boyle".
I was saying that I doubted both the baby and Reg were played by the same person because the Mr Bean episode was made in 1993, and this Scratchy and Co clip is from 1996. This would've meant that Elliot would have only been 3 or 4 in this clip, and he looks to old to be 3 or 4.
I think I remember the phone number for this.....0990100373

Found our Reg was played by Elliot Henderson Boyle and he also starred in Mind the Baby Mr Bean as the baby!
fraserkatie 3 years ago
The baby was Lydia Henderson-Boyle. He looks way too young in Mr Bean to look like what he does in Scratchy and Co only after 3 years.
jaychristie909 2 years ago
You mean Elliot Henderson Boyle!
