4 orcas have died in the last 4 months in seaworld. Living in a bath tub, having an artificial diet and living in chemically treated water in an environment that puts tremendous stress on their bodies, no orca in captivity has lived the age of 40, in the wild they live to be 60-80 years old.
SeaWorld has spent decades trying to convince the world that, such a creature belongs in small concrete tanks. The evidence has been mounting for at least 25 years that this is flatly untrue.
@RareHonesty well he said whales would rather be with something important happing to the other whales.. so for example one of the wahles could be giving birth(i dought they do a show during tht ) butif one was the wahles wouldnt want to preform because they would want to be with tht whale...tht wht he said basically.
"Alone they are bereft of defense, and when alone they exhibit their own form of "co-operation" with those who might destroy them. In the case of the dolphin, it surrenders to us, a thing we mistake for gentleness. Having surrendered vital aspects of its survival equation when taken from the group, it is much less than a complete animal." Paul Forestell Ph.D.
Well I would say this proves to people who still might believe you can make an eight ton animal do something it doesn't want to that the whales aren't forced to perform in cruel spectacles of dominance. ;)
Pretty sure the spoiled rotten critters call the shots around there. I love it.
'whales aren't forced to perform in cruel spectacles' has been true about Sea World for for decades. the trainers are always aware of their wild side. It's part of their job.
Takes years to learn each whale's individual personality. They read body language to know when a whale is willing to perform. On rare occasions, the whales don't show enough clues... so something like this happens.
Just like your pet dog, you can't alway predict when they'll misbehave.
Is this a part of the show now? Because Every time I have went to seaworld 2 times now and It has been joe and It is almost the same speech.lol,i still love this Show!!!!!!!
Both times I went to see Believe in 2008, the females refused to perform aswell...
