The film is indeed not very artistic but I don't think it's racist. Hollywood is manichaeistic and because the Persians were the invaders in 480 BC it shows them as the "bad guys".
Also, the greek army was by far better than the persian (on equipment & training), that's why the Greek hoplites won.
